It's organized well and a hit or miss with customer service.
The place has decent prices. We scored a great deal on a nicely designed wood entertainment stand.
I got the floor model which is an automatic 10% off the regular price PLUS a 40% off Labor Day sale on a very nice all wood entertainment center with ample storage and glass doors.
Good for cheap snacks and overall a good discount store. Just don't expect much as far as customer service.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ivie P.Glen Rock, NJ39234669Jun 23, 2023
I usually go to the Christmas Tree Shop, mainly located in Paramus, for many years, in any seasons, winter, spring, summer, fall. I usually spend $100 every time I go to the Paramus store, buying household trinkets, kitchen items or some sort of holiday/seasonal decor.
As I was driving on Central Ave, decided to venture into this one, looking forward to buy something to compliment my home for the summer season. Very disappointed. This store is large, but couldn't find one thing worthwhile to buy, especially placemats for summer decor. What a waste of my time walking through the entire store and not find anything that caught my interest. Most of the things they had, had a beachy look to it or for the backyard/patio. Nothing eye-catching for my door or window.
Maybe, due to the pandemic, they are slowly picking up to par on their stock items, since it looked limited to just this beachy theme. Will give them a chance after October, to see if it's worth shopping at this location, again. Haven't been there to the Christmas Tree Shop in Paramus, since Dec 2019. But, think that will be my comfort store to go to during any of the seasons, if the one in Hartsdale is unimpressive for me.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Elena J.Stamford, CT37308194Nov 13, 2022
Great shop with lots of home decor, party supplies and more at a reasonable price. However, my interaction with the employees at this location has NEVER been pleasant.
For whatever reason, they always seem to be angry and upset. My most recent visit really made me angry thus this review. Donald, I believe was his name, --- an older Hispanic or Black (couldn't really tell as he had a mask on), was rude and dismissive. I asked him a simple question about a particular item I had seen 2 weeks ago and instead of taking an additional 5 seconds to say, "we no longer carry them", he just snapped "NO." at me and dashed away.
Is this attitude really necessary? Are you really that miserable to the point you've forgotten just common social interaction skills? Donald also did this to two other sets of customers--- really bad service attitude if you ask me. I'll continue to shop here but will be avoiding any interaction w/ its employees.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Doreen M.White Plains, NY2813Apr 25, 2023
This store is the worst in the chain. The employees are not friendly or intelligent. Then they blame the customer for not having patience.

Christmas Tree Shops are the perfect place to find cheap seasonal decor. The store is a lot of fun to browse in but beware of crowds! I vowed never to go again last time (couldn't find any carts, staff weren't bringing them in, parking lot was insanely busy, extremely long lines to checkout, and too many people inside). However, I went yesterday and we had a pleasant visit. If you can't find a parking spot outside, try going another time or day because it will be crazy inside.
The store is clean and well organized and the staff are friendly. It's a hit or miss with the store but there's always something you can find.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 43188715107May 3, 2016
When Christmas Tree Shops first opened in the Westchester area, (I was still living in The Bronx), I would arrogantly ask myself, "why would people up there buy Christmas ornaments in freaking June"?
I grew up in The Bronx, where the only time you go all out and buy Christmas ornaments was days before Thanksgiving. You can buy ALL sorts of really nice thingamajigs. And not just for Christmas! I'm really serious! What I like about Christmas Tree Shops, is that they have several corner areas for specific themes.
So here's the low down with Christmas Tree Shops...Many times, themes don't go with the seasons. For instance, you'll see Fall/Pumpkin items in mid-July or Valentine's Day items in December. All good. Currently, Christmas Tree Shops, has a nook devoted to all things Clambake, decked out with ceramic white plates, lobster claw crackers and metal petite bowls for melted butter.
You get chic, hard-to-find items and affordable. You'd be surprised who shops here: you have the stay-at-home moms who live in Scarsdale and the moneyed folks in Bronxville- who're ALWAYS looking for a bargain.
Staff here is always helpful, though at times, difficult to get their attention. Overall, CTS, is a nice place to find cute items for your home- and not just for Christmas.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 12Oh no 0 - Andrew D.East Bronx, NY5136357Dec 10, 2019
Ran in here to pickup a few small ornaments. What a dump. Why is this place called The Christmas Tree Shop?
They had a very small selection on Christmas stuff. What they did have was the cheapest crap you have ever laid eyes on. The rest of the items in the store are the same low quality. A bunch of knock off junk from every 3rd world corner of the planet. I'd like to know how many of these items have traces of lead, PCB's, DDT, and god knows what else in them. They throw a few name brand items in the mix to make it look good.
If you need a gift bag, or a holiday basket, or maybe some gift tags, this is the place to go. Cheap as dirt.
Everything else in the store that is non edible looks like it would have the longevity of a week and a half.
This place made me feel "dirty". I felt like I was creeping around a 1970s Manhattan porn shop.
Ugh, I need a shower.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
