China Way Restaurant

Loved this spot for years, all different items all pretty good to me. I often dine alone and they are super attentive every time. I remember something about their chili paste, it's spicy, floral with some hints of "I have no idea", lol big I loved the food.

I still continue to enjoy dishes at this casual, unpretentious semi hole. It's a semi hole cause it's next to a row of auto shops and the car wash on El Camino. But once your inside, it's eatin' time :)

The dinner combos are the best value and they have one for a single person and 3 dinner combos for 2 or more guests. At times I'll break away and order off the big menu, but never have I left without to-go boxes In a plastic t-shirt bag. They provide an ample amount of food. Even the off the menu is a great value. I notice on web they have a Korean written menu and they give you a kim chee and a yellow daikon pickled slices on a small rectangular dish while your reviewing menu. So I asked waitress and she said only a certain soup is Korean. So I guess it's to help Korean speaking guests with the menu.

Staff is very nice and always happy and laughing. Very attentive too. I've never been disappointed.

Reasonable Chinese-Korean fusion food. Went for the standard jajangmyeon (black bean noodle) and tangsuyuk double and was given just that. Solid portions on both, but the jajangmyeon was definitely lacking a bit in flavor and the tangsuyuk's breading looked questionable (though more of just an aesthetic issue in that regard, taste was fine).  

Korean owners completed the standard Chinese-Korean fusion restaurant vibe.

The Gan Ja Jaing Mein is awesome where.  Also the Korean-Chinese specific dishes are really good here.  My understanding is that the owners grew up in Korea.

The Chinese food here is also tasty.

Haven't found a place that does better with Gan Ja Jiang Mein.

China way is another humble Korean- Chinese restaurant located right across from SGD Tofu House. Though parking was a bit sh*ty here, they serve comfort food that is worth trying and affordable.

The Jjajangmyeon was the sole reason I came in for lunch. Texture wise, the noodle was thick and chewy. Taste-wise, it was decent and isn't too oily or too savory! Overall, not bad, although I much prefer the Jajjangmyun I had at Tong Soon.

Service was quick and friendly and they even offer a free wifi. I wouldn't mind coming back to try more of their food, saw the table next to ours ordered Jjampong and it looks so darn delicious!

Really love their service and their food! Not just Chinese food here, they also have Korean food. They start you off with kimchi, which is really delicious.

My bf and I ordered egg rolls, chow mien, fried rice, and last but not least our favorite sizzling rice soup!

I HIGHLY recommend the sizzling rice soup. It's my favorite thing to eat there.

Overall 5/5 for customer service and great food!

This is a Korean-Chinese restaurant so if you aren't too familiar with the way certain dishes are prepared then you might be in for a disappointment.  I was craving some jjajang myun (Korean black bean noodles) one day and this place popped up on Yelp so I decided to check it out and I am glad I did.  I have passed by this place so many times but never really gave it much thought.  It is right next to a car wash and auto maintenance places.  

The restaurant itself is cozy and a bit of a hole in the wall.  I was seated right away and not too soon after I settled myself in the kimchi and hot tea followed soon after.  I ordered their seafood black bean noodle and a side order of dumplings pan fried on both sides which is the Korean style.  My server asked me if I also wanted the raw onions but since I am not a big fan of them I politely declined.  The noodles were very chewy and the sauce was flavorful.  The dumplings had the right amount of filling in proportion to the wrapper.  At the end of your meal they give you orange slices, a fortune cookie and tapioca for dessert.  This made me extra happy.

I will definitely be back to try other things on their menu such as the jjampong (Korean spicy noodle in broth) and kkangpoongi (spicy fried chicken). This will definitely be my go-to place when I want authentic Korean-Chinese food.  If you are paying by credit card, there is a $15 minimum.

Plenty of Americanized Chinese food dishes here but I came here for the noodles.
Korean - Chinese fusion ja jiang mien (jajang myun) and 3 flavor noodle (jjampong) were good.
Generous portion and fair prices.
Modest dining area and friendly service. Our waitress was helpful with recommendations and had a smile.
Owner/chef/cook is cool. Look for the newspaper clipping on the back wall.

Never had a meal been so unappetizing...

The Dried Fried Chicken with Spicy Garlic Sauce (kampongi) was awful.  The giant pieces of chicken breast was dry.  They were not battered well and was not crispy.  The sauce does not taste good. Definitely not worth $14.

The Hong Kong-style Pan Fried Noodle was the worst we have had.  King Noodle offers a much better version for cheaper.  Their BBQ Pork was terrible.  Large chunks of pork with bright red food coloring.  

Not my cup of tea.

This place was the best :( so sad. We used to go  for years. We new the whole group of waiters and the owner and his wife. We don't know why they close:( I hope they open an other restaurant. We love in San Jose but it was worth the trip to Santa Clara. I love the fish. Omg the Mongolian Beef was amazing. My son started going here since he was in  my belly until 3 years old. His favorite plate was the spicy wontons they where the best wontons I have tested. Soft, well seasoned and spicy. My son was  super sad when we went that day and the place was closed. We were alL devastated. We miss the people that worked there :( .
