I recently tried China Dragon and noticed something dark in my lo mein. I picked up the object with my fork to find that it was a dead bug with horns and wings, which is by far the grossest thing I have ever experienced in terms of restaurant food. I appreciated that the order was refunded to me, but I will never return to China Dragon.

China Dragon is an okay place for some fast Asian food. For sure it's nothing like the best, but it's not terrible, unlike some other Chinese places around here. It might be the best place for something other than Indian food in West Rogers Park. Has a somewhat iffy location, but close to a bus stop, on Western Avenue. This place looks kind of sketchy, but forget about that and order.
Got some pretty typical items to go. It was for lunch and we ordered a few things to eat later. This was conveniently close to a bus stop. After getting off, the order was almost ready. We got the Sesame Tofu. It's $7.25 at lunch. This has a very sweet sauce covering the tofu. I had been to the China Dragon in Pilsen. This must be the same ownership because the menu is the same. At the Pilsen location I've had the Orange Tofu, and thought it was okay. The Sesame Tofu here looks and tastes about the same, except that it has sesame seeds. It was still good. There was a nice stickiness and sweetness about it that I liked.
Here's proof that not far from Devon Avenue is more than only good Indian food. It's better than it looks. Take a bus here, get off, then get back on with your cheap meal.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Angel M.Chicago, IL09Jan 15, 2023

Umm...it's 7:15 pm. They close at 10 supposedly. I've been standing at the counter for 10 minutes and I don't even know if there's any staff here. I hear a workout video playing so maybe they're getting some exercise? I don't smell any food either and the woks that are immediately to the right look like they haven't been used in hours.
I'm just gonna go ahead and leave.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - Maggie N.Chicago, IL015Oct 29, 2020
Continued review from Maggie S....
I am now able to log in as Maggie N. from Chicago rather than [in error] as Maggie S. from San Francisco?? I'm not sure how or why that happened. I'm the one who ordered from China Dragon and became violently ill. Now it has been 8 days since I ate their General Tsao Chicken and my body is still traumatized. I'm unable to keep any food down. I refuse to call the restaurant again. Please, please avoid this unnecessary pain and order your Chinese food elsewhere!! Horrible pain. On a positive note, maybe I'll lose some weight.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Janet B.Chicago, IL914Jun 4, 2021
Make better and fresher food. The egg rolls are the worst I have ever tasted. Throw away the duck sauce packets and give packets of sweet and sour sauce after making better eggs rolls.
The fried rice is not as good as it was before the pandemic.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kevin O.Chicago, IL254Aug 8, 2021
I had a shrimp egg roll and shrimp fried rice this was hands down the worst food I've ever had from a restaurant.

By far the nastiest Chinese food I ever had. This was my first and last time ordering food from this place!!!!!!!!! I had ordered beef egg foo young, fat noodles, orange chicken and tomato beef. The egg foo young was such a joke. Who uses onions instead of bean sprouts? Other Chinese restaurants always uses bean sprouts and never onions. For the fat noodles, it was completely bland. The tomato beef was decent. As for the orange chicken, chicken was way too over cooked. The guy who was packaging my orange, I caught him taking out three pieces of chicken out of the box and putting it back into the bowl and yes there was plenty of room in the box to fit all of the chicken. That what pissed me off the most, taking food out of the box for yourself to eat it for later. YOU CALLED THIS CHINESE? DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crab Rangoon with no crab, cabbage only egg rolls, every dish doused in soy sauce. Some of the most disgusting food we have ever ordered; save your money and warn your friends.

I have ordered here for years. The past year the quality of food has gone down. Also, it is dirty and the employees are rude. Sadly, I can no longer use this restaurant.
