Chicken Kitchen

I come here quite often so when I saw the reviews I was very surprised. I love this place always so fresh and service is great. Chicken is best in the area not salty, big chunks right off the grill. If I am eating out I come here. Healthiest food I can find in the area that's not overloaded with salt. And now they are selling chopped chicken by the pound! I just bought 2lbs to help save meal prep time

We love the chop chop. My husband and I go here about once a week. The garlic cilantro sauce is our favorite!!!! My go to:
Small chop chop with yellow rice, black beans, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and Garlic Cilantro sauce!

Hair. In. My. Food.

Do I really need to say more? Probably not, but I will. We came here because we heard good things about it, and granted it started off relatively well. We ordered two chop chop plates. The food wasn't bad, but I wouldn't say it's great. Roughly a third of the way into my food I found a long black hair (obviously not mine). I went straight to the counter with plate in hand where I was told "top for your food is right there." I said "Excuse me? No, I actually have something in my food." I proceeded to point out the hair in my food and was met with a very rude "Do you want a refund or another one?" Well, maybe an apology and both would've been good.

She came off as if this is something that happens all the time. It's disgusting. It's even more disgusting to not even get an apology for it. I lost my appetite, threw away the new plate of food (I actually left it on top of the trash so they'd see it), and left without so much as a "thank you" or "see you next time" from the staff. This place is horrendous. Stay away at all costs.

To the owner and/or manager, I would highly suggest you follow up with this employee. This is the type of person who can single handedly cost you your business.

Food is terrible in my opinion! First chicken is so dry its crazy! Lettuce was old! tomatoes mushy and old. Had 3 bowls and cannot believe they served food like this. Tried to get through my bowl and got to one piece of chicken that was tainted. Half hour now and still cannot get the rancid taste out of my mouth.

Would never try this place again. Hopefully they go out and another restaurant with quality food goes in that location.

I used to love this place. It was not unusual for me to visit 2-3 times per week. The food and service were great. It's been a while since my last visit. The food and service I received today were terrible. The management must have changed. I walked in and was greeted with "what you want?" The three staff behind the counter looked like they would rather be anywhere but at their job. There was no chicken ready so I had to wait several minutes. The scary thing is the personnel tending the grill seemed to be struggling to determine which chicken was fully cooked. When I added the veggies, the jalapeños looked dry and rotten. The seeds were brown.

I'll have to try the other locations. I won't return to this location. Sad.

I had high hopes for this place but I was disappointed. I ordered a Mexican chop chop and the guacamole that they pulled out of the fridge was browned on the top. I pointed it out and the gentleman preparing my food said it's normal but it's still fresh. If I owned the place i wouldn't serve brown guacamole even it was just a slight hint of it.My husband enjoyed his bowl at least.

DRY, not hot, cold chicken!
It was DRY, I mean DRY as a desert, No moisture at all, we were confused as to why they take fresh cooked grilled chicken off the grill, hot and moist and looked extremely edible and enjoyable, and give you old refrigerated chicken from the Bain Marie! We will never go back!!!
This place is terrible!! Funny thing on the cup it asks you to call if you want a franchise... For a DRY Chicken restaurant, Nah I'll pass!!!

Read all the reviews and decided to try this place for lunch with my daughter. The place was clean smelled reallllllllllllllllllly good and everything was fresh. The staff was friendly and willing to offer suggestions. My only problem was the guy behind making the chop chop, he was sooooooooo loud my daughter and I couldn't hear each other. If it was just once, OK...but it was consistent throughout our meal and it was very annoying. Next I'll just take my meal to go, or if it's cooler I'll sit outside.

It was my first visit and I've been so looking forward to it. Food was tasty, but service was so disappointing. No greeting, asked what did I want...no warmth at all.
When I went to the register it was the same way. What did you order...and amount. Not even a thank you. Now I know...lesson learned.

I have visited the location on 41 and Bee Ridge quite a few times and they were always busy the chicken was amazing as was the service. I thought it was the best fast food possible, until I tried this location off of University. The place was empty upon arrival and I know why now. The staff was not at all concerned with the quality of service, there could not have been a manager on duty because we even saw a girl with iPhone headphones on at the register. One of the staff members dropped a few pieces of a quesadilla from our order onto the floor and still tried to serve it to us. The place was filthy. With dirty tables and floor, the whole time we were there no one ever came out to check or clean the restaurant. I will continue to go to the other location but will not for this one.

Good chicken, and I love the sauces. Not fond of the price increase over the last year, but still good food.
