We came here for lunch and were welcomed with open arms by a young girl who was handling all the orders and the cooking at the time. She told us to take our time while we reviewed the menu. The interior was very spacious, though it needs an upgrade as I feel it's rather boring inside.
My wife ordered their chicken shawarma sandwich. It was a wrapped like a burrito with a thinner pita bread and it wasn't the best chicken shawarma I've had. My wife didn't mind the sandwich but I've had better. I ordered their beef shish kebab sandwich was was very tasty. It came with tomatoes, onions, it came with tahini sauce and I regret not getting hummus or hot sauce. The beef was perfectly grilled and tasted phenomenal.
Not the greatest Mediterranean food I've had but they service some great food with excellent customer service so I wouldn't mind returning.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - May 21, 2017
Having a Middle Eastern joint in the neighborhood where you live is beneficial. Why is that?
1) They are typical affordable (under $20 lunch for 2).
2) The food fills you up
However, it has to taste good in order for me to do repeated businesses with. After a brief neighborhood excursion on a Saturday evening, hubby and I stepped into the door of "Chicago's Pita Grill," near the Belmont-Central shopping/restaurant district. I thought it was a small place, perhaps with a couple of tables and chairs. In fact, the dining room was rather spacious. Separate-gendered restrooms were available for customers.
The Yelp check-in offer allowed us to use 15% off on a minimum purchase of $15. I know sometimes those deals wouldn't necessarily be valid at all times. The owner was nice and took a dollar or two off the entire bill without questioning.
We also received a plate of hummus on the house. I dipped the falafel with it. The hummus was great, so were the pieces of falafel. We came approximately one (1) hour prior to closing time, yet the falafel was made fresh and poppin' hot.
Their portion on the combination meat sandwich was generous. They put a plenty of meat inside the pits bread. The owner's family was having a gathering. I took a sneak peek on the table and saw some yummy baklavas. Umm...I would get these next time for sure.
I live in the adjacent neighborhood and "Chicago's Pita Grill" is within a walking distance from my house. I will definitely patronize here again when I finish thrifting-shopping at the nearby Salvation Army.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Dec 12, 2016
Chicagos Pita Grill is located in a small strip mall at 3051 N. Central Ave. I was in the area Saturday and had a craving for a gyro. I ordered a gyro with the standard toppings of onions (um great aftertaste ), tomatoes and tahini sauce. I noticed they had a gyro supreme so I decided to W/feta cheese, banana peppers and cucumbers and tomatoes. I was going to pay for the extra $.80, but the owner waved it off and don't worry about it. That was very nice of him. He was also a very friendly guy.
The gyro was pretty good (better then most), but Kings on Milwaukee and Foster is still the best in terms of quality, flavor and quantity.
It a pretty large dining are and they have been at this location for over 5 years.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Nov 4, 2015
This establishment is close to where my wife works, so we decided to have lunch here. We had the Chicken Shawarma sandwich and it was delicious. The grill it on a panini press to give the sandwich a crunchy edge. As a side dish, we had the Jerusalem salad and Hummus. The salad was evcellent with fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, while the hummus was creamy.
Overall, an evcellent stop and healthier alternative for lunch. The owners are friendly and are happy for your business.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Lilly S.Chicago, IL93950Oct 12, 2017
I had used the delivery option on yelp to have the food delivered. Although it took a little over an hour to deliver, the food was fantastic!
The chicken shawarma was the highlight. I had asked Mario(the manager) to cut them in halves and they sealed them so well so it wasn't messy! They were definitely very flavorful. Apart from that, the falafels tasted so fresh as they just made them a few minute ago. The white sauce was spot on! The hummus was a bit too salty for me so I didn't fully enjoy it.
As for the staff, Mario was very kind and explained the different varieties over the phone.
I had a few guests try the food and they absolutely loved it. It's definitely a place you have to check out. I can't wait to try other items on their menu!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jennifer P.Woodstock, IL238373580Oct 10, 2019
Thank goodness CPG is in my neighborhood. I just moved out this way in a quick decision I had to make. Most of the restaurants out here are fast food like Popeyes and McDonalds. There is absolutely no culinary culture outside of Mexican Restaurants. I drove by here once and they were closed, and I thought they had shut down completely. I was wrong and okay with that! Whew!!
Service is friendly and patient. Food is top notch. I will be back. They are my oasis in this neighborhood.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Autumn P.Chicago, IL97188Dec 13, 2019
The only reason i didn't give a 5 star because I wish they gave you a larger order of fries considering the price of them. Otherwise, i live in the neighborhood and decided to give them a try. When i ordered they walked me through all the items on the menu, let me sample the chicken and they make the falafel in house, by hand right in front of you. Doesn't get better than that!(Other than there house made Tahini, and garlic sauce) Its a family ran buisness, very fresh food, good vibes and authentic Mediterranean food.Deeelicous.

I ordered my food through grub hub. Very simple two dishes. Waited 50 minutes, called and was told the food has left 10 minutes ago. An hr passes and I receive a cancellation from grub hub. I called customer service who contacted the restaurant and was told I was out of their delivery range. You could have said something at 6:54 when I placed the order not after 8:15. You're a bunch of jerks. You delivered to me before but all of a sudden disappear today.
Save your money go elsewhere!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Monica R.River North, Chicago, IL0111Apr 23, 2019
We frequent this place quite a bit now. The staff is always friendly and the food is solid. Definitely love the gyro and chicken shawarma sandwich... but the falafel are sneaky good. So crisp and light. Phenomenal hummus as well.
Ordered the lentil soup this time and neither my daughter nor myself cared for itHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
