This was my first visit to Cherry City Waxworks and the first time I worked with Maddie. They have earned my business going forward! The staff were professional and very warm and welcoming. I have already booked my follow up appointment with them. Maddie was simply excellent with my wax and I am so glad I have found this place! You won't regret trying them.

Internally I have been debating posting a review; do I really want the world knowing I waxed my starfish? A day after seeing Cherry City Waxworks the answer is yes.
As a typical duder, my down under is something that few people would want to interact with. Concerning my front-side the spouse would alternate between telling me I should manscape or that I felt like sandpaper during sexy time. Concerning the back side, peanut butter in shag is part of my vocabulary.
After weeks of off and on discussions with my wife I finally found some courage and I made my appointment with Cherry City Waxworks. They seem to be one of the only places in Salem that will see men. It was easy enough to do. Their website is solid and easy to navigate. They send you confirmation by email and SMS. Me being me, I called them full of anxiety to ask about what I should expect - they were reassuring and easy to talk to.
The night before my appointment I went down the YouTube rabbit hole watching men's Brazilian waxing, I shouldn't have but I did. In a third of the videos the men got erections and all the men yelped or flinched. How humiliating! I almost called the morning of my appointment and cancelled. I would be mortified if that happened to me.
When I showed up to my appointment my Fitbit said my heart rate was at a 105. I met with Morgan. She was friendly, the liability form was easy to fill out. The business was clean. My appointment started on time. I followed Morgan into the one of the rooms and she instructed me to remove my clothes from the waist down and hop up on the table as she put on gloves and adjusted her products. I dropped my drawers, got on the table and looked at my Fitbit again. Heart rate was at 120.
As odd as it sounds that's where my anxiety stopped for me. Morgan chatted to me the entire appointment. We talked about vacationing in Mexico, or playing Minecraft with kids. By the end of the session my heart rate was all the way back to down to 68.
One day later I feel like a king. I look bigger. I got some sexy confirmation from my wife. I feel cleaner, I feel fresher and when I wiped this morning I had to do a double take.

Another complaint on the lack of customer service from this place.
I called in on my way to Eugene from Salem. I wanted to see if there was availability that day and the person on the phone let me know that there was an opening if I could be there in 10mins since there was an appointment scheduled soon.
Error #1: They claim to work on appointment only but clearly that is not the case as they fit me in just fine.
I was given paperwork to fill out and sign and within 5 mins of arriving I was escorted into the wax room.
Error #2: Cherry City Waxworks neglected to provide representative to explain policy or logistics of so called "contract".
Reason: You need to ensure all customer have equal protection and understanding of your business's policies. This could be considered abuse or discrimination of people with learning disabilities or language barriers. Also, not a good business move to give someone 5mina to read it over.
After my wax I went to the front to pay. I explained I lived in Eugene for school and sometimes come up to Salem to visit my boyfriend. They asked me to make an appointment but I was very straightforward and said my schedule isn't consistent and I would be visiting my home in Los Angeles for thanksgiving before returning to Eugene. They were very persistent on scheduling me so I said the 27th seemed fine.
Error #3: Representative should have let me leave without making an appointment and she did not disclose 24hr cancellation policy in an opportune moment where scheduling was clearly ambiguous.
Today I noticed a charge of $70 so I called into Cherry City Waxworks and shared my concerns. In all honesty, I would have been willing to reschedule. I complimented the manager on the cleanliness of the business. She was really kind and told me she would have the owner Jasmine reach out.
Speaking to the owner, she came across very affected and emotional over my claim to regain funds for a service I didn't receive. I gave her my feedback regarding non disclosure and integrity but she lacked accountability for her poor customer service and poor training of her employees regarding contracts and legalities. When it comes to contracts, a copy should be provided to guest. That is good business, point blank. She rudely said "you're a grown up, you should read what you sign", and to that, you're a business owner, you should take a couple of business courses on long term versus short term cost. A one time return of $70 would have brought you minimum $600 in services from me in the course of a year. (I pay $100-$150 in wax sevices every 2 months)
I was actually surprised by her lack of self control and awareness too. She must be going through some stuff because it's not okay to blow up on someone just seeking their money back. $70 isn't a big deal but it's apparent that this business is struggling and needs every dollar possible which is why Jasmine is so aggressive and possessive of money she fraudulently gains.
Let's be honest, I probably won't get my money back. It's okay Jasmine, keep it since you need it so bad. I went ahead and reported the negligence of this joke of a business to the Better Business Bureau.
It's apparent that this is just a small hick owner with no ambition to prosper and gets her small power trip by daring you to seek a resolution elsewhere. I was only their once on a whim and by the way, without an appointment. So to say you are losing money because people cancel and you work by appointment only is a complete lie.

I recommend anyone, and everyone, visit Cherry City Wax Works for their waxing needs. I've been a customer for nearly four years, have been seen by multiple waxers and can say without hesitation that they are the friendliest, most professional in the business (from my perspective). There is a discount for services within a defined time frame, the salons are clean and stylish; the owner and staff are fabulous.
I moved to Vancouver a year-and-a-half ago. For convenience, I visited a Portland-based salon once. The service was terrible, so I travel to Salem from Vancouver once every six weeks to be waxed. The service is worth the drive.

The waxing itself is fine. Customer service sucks though. I didn't get a reminder until the morning of my appointment, and due to work and other personal matters, I wasn't able to make my appointment. I friend to cancel my appointment as soon as I found out, and left a message with them since they weren't open. I received al call back saying that my appointment had been canceled, but that they had charged me for the full appointment. They didn't ask me if I wanted to keep my appointment since I had to pay, which I would have figured out a way to do so rather than pay for a service I'm not going to receive. Not good business practices and I will not be returning for their overpriced services. I'll happily go across town to EWC and receive much better waxing and customer service.

Well... I went in pretty relaxed. Got a bit nervous when it came down to getting my Brazilian wax! Magda was an angel talked me through all she was doing and was super helpful and kind! I will definitely keep going. The after results are pretty awesome!! Thank you Magda and Cherry City Wax!!

Amazing service and awesome staff. I was nervous at first because this is a new place for me, but everyone was so nice and welcoming. The staff really want to make you feel comfortable during your appointment. I would 10/10 recommend this place!

Great service and the shop is very clean. I used to go to the Keizer location which was very convenient but closed. The Salem location is a little trickier to park at but worth it. I've had a few different technicians and all have been great, fast and accurate.
