Charlie's BBQ & Salads

Food and service are excellent. Fresh wraps and moist brisket.
Many side options and nice space to enjoy your meal.

Definitely one of my staples working downtown. So why only 3 stars? I am glad you asked.

Its the inconsistency for both breakfast and lunch. When the food is on point its really delicious and satisfying when its off its not bad but its not great either think eh.

I would recommend trying the lunch over the breakfast if you were nearby and wanted to give it a try.

Of course I am usually sitting right next door so stop and say hi :)

Okay. The review.
The BBQ here is meh. The BBQ sauce here is meh. And the burgers here are meh meh. So what isn't meh?

The fish on Wednesday's and Friday is very good. (Uh...they don't have Tabasco sauce. (Fail)
The Gyro is pretty tasty. (Yeah Gyro at a BBQ place. Nice)
The baked potato with chopped beef. Very, very good. (Yummy)
They have multiple build your own wrap options. (Cool if you're into that.)
Oh and the staff is friendly and courteous in a passive kind of way.

So why the 3 stars? Because its a freaking BBQ spot with meh Q.

(So when you start with a meme, you got to end with a meme.)

Don't Meh and Prosper!

One of the best tunnel staples- Charlie's! Though I highly suspect the Indian owner's name is not Charlie....

No matter if you're ordering their breakfast, BBQ, or wannabe Salata salad, you can't go wrong. I've never been disappointed with the food and they're typically very fast with service too. And even if it isn't on the menu, usually they'll customize whatever you want as long as they have the ingredients. So you can think of Charlie as your personal chef ;)

Breakfast here is the best it gets, amazing. I've tried many breakfast places and it just can't compare to what I get at Charlie's. My go to is the 3 meat omelette.

The salad bar which is similar to salata is where it's at. Very cheap and large portions - they do not skimp on the toppings

One of the better places to eat downtown for a work lunch. They consistently have decent food for breakfast and lunch. Their salad bar is one of the best in town. Things on the menu I would recommend? Burgers, fries, chicken sandwich, baked potato, breakfast sandwich with fried egg and salad bar. Overall the bbq is just ok, but they make up for it with a variety of other things on the menu.

I love Charlie's! Where else can you can chopped beef breakfast croissant???!!! It is so good. They also have a salad bar that is comparable to Salata's.

For downtown tunnel BBQ this place is good. For real world BBQ this place is eh. I've eaten a couple combos.

Their egg, bacon, chz breakfast tacos though are AWESOME. I put some homemade sauce on it and bam! I'm actually happy to be awake so early. The bacon they use is a good thickness and they cook it crispy. I've also had their chorizo, which tastes how almost all other chorizo tacos taste.

Only if you're hard up for Q. Little to no smoke flavor. Brisket was dry on a level seldom reached by anyone who would dare try to sell it. So dry in fact the chicken breast was more moist than the Brisket. Let that sink in...
