Excellent soup! We were staying at the local hotel and wanted a light dinner so ordered the Caldo de Pollo. It was really excellent with fresh cilantro and tons of so very tender chicken. While waiting for my order I totally took note of the sizzling fajitas being delivered to the table nearby....next trip to Iowa...they will be a must!

Upon arriving almost reconsidered eating here. Restaurant had no cars and doesn't look like much from outside. We were starving and I needed to eat now, so we took a chance. Pleasant surprise. Excellent food and stellar service.

I wish I would have read thru reviews and tried something unique. I had flautas and husband had tacos, both off lunch menu. Chips and pico were so good. Entree was great. I would love to eat here again but we were traveling thru on road trip far from home.

Inside restaurant: very worn carpet, but furniture and decor is nice and ladies bathroom was old but spotless clean.

      Definitely try!

Great Mexican food for the location. We had the lunch specials - tamales & enchilada and burrito Verde. Both came with rice and beans. The pork filling was delicious with good spices, and the chili verde had tender pork. Both plates were large. The margaritas were huge. The blended mango margarita was like sherbet but had a kick! We were very satisfied. Inexpensive, too.

Excellent classical Mexican food. The Fajitas are best in class. Highly recommended. Typical Mexican ambience, great service.

I was visiting Garner and wanted to find a local place for lunch. Yelp reviews led me to Casa Patron. They did not steer me wrong. The restaurant was clean, service was fast, and burrito was great. I got the sense a few of the other patrons were regulars, which is a good sign. I would visit again.

We drive 30 miles at least once a week to go to Ay Jalisco. Little hole-in-the-wall place tucked behind Bill's Family Foods in the metropolis of Garner, IA - population, I don't know, 12?

The mole enchiladas are awesome. Best fajitas we've had in a long time. Tamales are good as well. I haven't had anything bad there, though the chile relleno wasn't what I expected (chopped chiles rather than a stuffed chile). This isn't the typical bland midwestern excuse for Mexican - this is more like what we'd get at family places in Texas.

Quality is consistent, and service is exceptionally friendly and very speedy (when they're not overwhelmed).

Wish I didn't have to drive by a cattle feed lot and two hog operations to get there. But it's worth holding your breath.

Best in town good job had 8 people with us and everything was great the food was very tasty and they wee fast and polite. For a small town they do a great job. We had family from all over the country and they all thought is was great. They did a great job with the shrimp fajita

We ate at Ay Jalisco in Garner, Iowa twice while having our Winnebago serviced at the factory in Forest City, Iowa. In the suburbs south of Seattle, we have two favorite Mexican Restaurants that we felt even compare to those we frequent in Puerto Vallarta. So it was quite a surprise to find a restaurant out in the boonies that is now at the top of our list for tasty Mexi. We have begged the owner to open a place in Enumclaw, Washington so that we can have the best Mexican food whenever we want!! We hope he will do that some day. Thanks, Ay Jalisco for two great dinners!
