We enjoyed our fries and two complimentary drinks ..
We stopped in before going to dinner and loved our time here..the bar manager is so friendly, knowledgable and our food was equally wonderful
If you are going to a show ..check out the new menu and the honey crisp cider cocktail !Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Will H.Pittsburgh, PA352Mar 5, 2017
While the food I felt was okay the level of service needs work. It took close to 45 minutes to get seated.(Was told 10-15 minutes) Drink selection was horrible half of their drink menu was crossed out. Rule one of bar life in the Downtown area especially the cultural district have a fully stocked bar lol. Food ordering the waitress stated to us right off the bat that she would be back to take our order in about 10-15 minutes as the kitchen was backed up.
When ordering was able to occur several fails occurred. 3/4 of our parties meals came out at the same time leaving our 4th guest without their meal. Unfortunately our 4th guest had to watch us eat with-ought him as our food was getting cold as we polity waited.
The waitress had stated several times that the kitchen was working on his meal(I do believe her on this as I observed several other tables in the same boat as us so I do not blame the waitress). By the time he got his we had finished ours.
In the end I feel this restaurant needs to hire a business coach or partner up with one of the 5 star rated business in the area to get up on there feet. It has potential just needs polish.
Good Luck.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Nick F.Haarlem, The Netherlands171767309Jan 13, 2017
Not good, none of us liked the food that we got and I had to try to order three different times to finally get something. They did not tell me that my selection was not available until everyone else's food was done. Then came back after that and told me my second selection was not available. Finally I got my third choice but was really disappointed because the sandwich that I ordered was full of mushrooms even though that ingredient was nowhere in the description. While the people working there were nice enough about everything, I just did not like the food. They did mentioned to me though that they have a new chef and they were going to implement a new menu so maybe that is something.

The decor and vibe of the restaurant is a bit out of place. It's supposed to be that rugged Western meat-everything style, but it's in the middle of the downtown cultural district, which is very modern and chic. The food was just okay; everything looked spectacular but could have benefited from a little more seasoning. If you appreciate a variety of food styles to include vegetarian options, this isn't the place for you. They also try to include perogies in everything (ex. perogies on the burgers; sweet perogies as most of the dessert menu)

They have been open for couple months but have lots of bumps to iron out. Tonight, taps are not working and many menu items are unavailable.
I ordered the prosciutto wrapped sea bass. I got sea bass with what looked like two salami slices on top. It was very bland tasting. I do not recommend.
The mozzarella sticks were very good.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Maggie H.Pittsburgh, PA031Jan 29, 2017
I have to agree with every other review that was written about last night.... LONG wait to get service, even drinks.... when we finally got her attention she seemed annoyed! Drinks with no garnish, made incorrectly, apathetic female bartender who seemed to be either overwhelmed or very inexperienced (it wasn't that busy.)
It is a shame that the service was so bad, seems like a nice little place.
Dear Owner of Carve.... take a good look at who is running your business on a Saturday night, they are doing you no service and hurting your income. We won't be back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mike R.Pittsburgh, PA010105Jan 1, 2017
Great place to eat. The decor inside is awesome, so beautiful and calm feeling. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful food was amazing and it is in a great section downtown cultural district. Also they have a beautiful patio can't wait till spring so I can come back and try again

I am kind of amazed right now. I wrote a review of the restaurant we were going to try the other night called Carve. My table of friends and at least two other tables left that night because we waited over an hour and no one ever got food. (Mind you this is a sandwich place - the meat is precooked.) The owner then came onto my review and told me that I was lying and bashing him. I'm completely amazed! Whatever you do, do not waste your time eating at Carve. We have so many excellent restaurants in Pittsburgh and this is not one of them. The owner needs to go back to business school.

We walked in and got a table and have been waiting for over 30min JUST TO PLACE OUR ORDER FOR DRINKS! Stay away from here. The bartender who made our drinks is terrible. And waiting for our food for another 45 minutes. This place is ridiculous. If you want a quick bite to eat DON'T GO HERE. When we got here we had to get our servers attention it's completely unacceptable here. Watching people leave because of the slow service and watered down drinks. So it got worse. Finally our food arrives and it's HORRIBLE!!! No seasoning whatsoever! And whatever taste it did wave made me sick to my stomach. PLEASE BE WARNED AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!! When my mother (who I am here with) told the waitress that there was something wrong with her drink the waitress turned away and gave an audible annoyed sigh! YOU DON'T DO THAT IN FROMT OF PAYING CUSTOMERS!!!!!
