I have 2 children and I am proud to say they are both Carden School of Fresno graduates. My son is now a Freshman in college and my daughter, a Freshman in high school.
My family has nothing but great things to say about Carden.
During their time at this school, my children learned skills needed to be successful in both the classroom and in life.
At 18 and 15 yrs. old, my children are free thinking, independent, self starters who love learning regardless of the subject matter. They are thriving in their new schools and I give all the credit to the teachers of Carden. Their Carden teachers brought out the absolute best in my children.
If you were to ask my children directly they would tell you, Carden prepared them very well for this next stage in their young lives. They are grateful for having had the opportunity to attend Carden and jump at the chance to go back for annual events or even just a quick campus visit.
Simply put - to my family, Carden was, is, and will always be home!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Tony R.Fresno, CA1195016Nov 25, 2019First to Review
We put our two kids at Carden starting this school year. The curriculum is rigorous and demanding and the teachers are professional, caring, empathetic and enthusiastic toward their students. The other parents have gone out of their way to make us feel welcome. We know our children are getting a first-rate education at Carden. Their school days are balanced between work and physical activity and the school values music, art, and languages with weekly classes. There is no other school in Fresno where elementary children can learn French and for our family that was very important. Most importantly our children are happy and want to go to school. It's not easy but they are thriving at Carden. As an educator myself I can say with some authority that the education at Carden school is one of the best in Fresno.

In the midst of our 5th year at Carden (a nonsectarian school) i can say it has far exceeded our hopes for a community of education.
The curriculum is classically based with strong core subjects and additional cultural programs in Art, Music, French & Latin.
Students are able to thrive in a classroom setting of no more than 20 children per teacher across the grade levels (public schools go up to between 36 and 38 kids per class starting in the 5th grade).
Carden is a small community with just over 100 families. This contributes to a special bond among the classes and allows for an intimate learning environment. The small setting also facilitates the parents ability to get to know one another and enjoy each other as a support system.
When i ask my children (twins currently in the 8th grade) what they think stands out about Carden they both cite the dedicated teachers and the way that students support one another in each class.
Children who attend Carden gain skills, knowledge and maturity that they carry forward no matter whether they attend for one year or all 10 years from pre-K through 8th grade.
Those who graduate from Carden are universally recognized by local high schools as being exceptionally well prepared for high school, higher education, and life in general.
My family highly recommends this school!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Jessica H.Chicago, IL02Dec 5, 2019
My family is in our sixth year at Carden School of Fresno, I have two children there. I am not the type to write a Yelp review, but when the one star review was brought to my attention (written by a family who had been there for only one year) I felt it was wildly unfair and decided to leave a review of my own.
There is no such thing as a perfect school. That said, both of my children continue to receive exceptional educations. Every one of their teachers has challenged and encouraged them in equal measure. The Carden test scores speak for themselves. Both of my children are consistently testing two to three grades above the state average.
When we have had problems or concerns we have found the administration to be easy to speak to and respectful of our point of view. We worked together and found a solution the was best for everyone and we left the exchange feeling valued.
At the end of the day, my children and safe, happy, healthy, and thriving at Carden. This is all thanks to the amazing teachers, dedicated staff, and a stellar curriculum.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Wendy K.Clovis, CA02Dec 5, 2019
We are parents of a Carden graduate and have two children still attending. I can say Carden has given my children an excellent education with also having a focus on character. Carden prepared my now sophomore in high school incredibly well, he is top of his class academically all while being actively involved in athletics and extracurricular activities. His transition was seamless and I must credit Carden. Carden teaches students to be confident, articulate, mature young adults when they exit Carden in the 8th grade.
