We have a few go to dishes and that is how we judge our restaurants. For Chinese the set is chow mien (low mein depending on the place), pork fried rice and a meat dish, normally beef and a veggie.
Now we have given this place a very fair shake and been there 3 times now and all 3 times the rice was so drain, like uncooked. The noodles are okay and the other dishes average. This just isn't our magic spot.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 10, 2018
"When I land, the first thing I want is Portland Chinese food!" As a child growing up besides my grandmas cooking Chinese food was 2nd favorite thanks to my dad.
We pulled up and it smelled like what a great Chinese restaurant should smell like. I ordered the combination plate: beef & broccoli, fried shrimp and shrimp fried rice (instead of pork, $2.50 up-charge).
The beef and broccoli lacked flavor and the broccoli could've cooked for at least a couple more minutes, The fried shrimp consisted of more bread than shrimp and because of how they were cut I could tell they just used medium shrimp and the fried rice was nothing I'll remember:
The guy who took my order was amazing though which is why I gave 3-stars instead of less, and the hot tea was sooooo good! It's my favorite at Chinese restaurants. I probably won't go here again, but you never know.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Aug 11, 2016
Mandarin, general, and sweet and sour here are damn kick ass
Huge portions for lunch, great pork fried rice. Amazing service and owner works on site. Only Chinese I eat, lunch 7 days a week will overly fill you up for sub 7bones

Food just tastes like a microwaved meal. Flavor was just not there. The prices were decent and they served a lot of food but it's just a little bellow average. I won't be going back. On a positive note the staff was very friendly!

YUMMY!!! This place took us by surprise, we were staying in a hotel nearby and tired from bussing it all day, HUNGRY we decided to stop in for dinner. It's been along time since I have had top of the line Chinese in forever. Don't let to outside fool you.. it's the inside that counts!
