I am very upset with Canal Pointe. I am a local performer. I received a phone message informing me my service was no longer needed. No reason given. Now, I know people get fired, but most employers have the deceny to make personal contact. And here is the thing, before my last show, I was called and told I had to do a raffle after every song for the residents. This call came two days before the show. I had to completely reorganized my song list (which I did). Now, Michelle is telling me that the resident were complaining about me and yet the residents tell me they love me. Again, I am very confused. I don't see where I deserved the treatment I received. There were other issues: there was an incident of a patient not properly dressed (short shorts no underwear, male) and I could find no one on the staff to help. One patient fell out of her chair and another was demanding to use $2,000 mic and was beligerent when she didn't get her way. Again, no staff present. It is not okay to do this to an outside vendor and then blame them for the problems that were there before they ever came. Michelle made no contact with me the whole time I was there, except for the raffle which she did not follow up on and to leave a firing call on my answering machine.

MY sister went there for Respiratory Care because they were the only place that offered it. After being held hostage for 8 years. There are a few good employees but the majority of them are mean and uncaring. My father did the majority of my sister's care him and my mother were there 365 days a year from 9 in the morning till 5 p.m. or later he was asked to feed her all of her meals when she went to puree and they had the nerve to ask him to stay longer to feed her dinner. I am glad she's out of there that's a social worker drop the ball on the discharge we had a meeting well over a month before discharge she was supposed to set up nursing in the home doctors in the home help for my elderly parents in the home and she did none of the above I am disappointed with Canal Pointe I would highly suggest if you love someone don't send them there the place is dirty they can't keep your laundry straight you will lose close we've lost hundreds of dollars of clothing new packs of socks that were broken into and have taken before my sister even got to use them the list goes on and on but it is not a good place if you care about someone look elsewhere the state should close this place down. I wish on their rating you can give less than one star I wish you could give negative Stars. I know that my comments will get brushed under the carpet with all the dirt that's in that place but it helps to say what I felt. Further more they staff would ignore the call lights or come check and disappear for hours when told she needed to be changed. Aids would hide and do nothing but play on cell phones. What happened to honest days work
