Campos Famous Burritos

This my families go to Mexican take out.
And prices are incredibly reasonable.
Love their breakfast burritos!

Campos is an ICON in Simi Valley ~ and has always been my "go to" restaurant for Authentic Mexican Food.

Unfortunately ~ I've notice recently that every time I order "to go", it's taking longer and longer "to go"!  

Tonight ~ I ordered a simple #3 Combo and an Orange Bang.  30 minutes later, I was still waiting for my order to be ready "to go"!  I noticed that several orders with a lower number than my ticket were ready and picked up, while my order just seemed to get lost in the shuffle.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS THIS:  NO 'TO GO' ORDER SHOULD TAKE OVER 30 MINUTES TO BE READY FOR PICK UP.

I guess I'll need to find a new home for Mexican Food.  Otherwise, I'll need to to plan on watching 30 Minute+ YouTube Videos while I wait!

Duh!!!!! 5 stars. This is the best burrito ever! I love going here. I grew up going to the one in Santa Monica with my dad. I can't get enough.

In fact I have a big hankering for one. Need to eat one soon. Sometimes this place is really busy, but it's worth the wait. Sometimes you can't get through on the phone to them, but don't lose heart. They are worth fighting for.

Keep them alive through this pandemic. Buy local. They are a mom and pop shop. Thanks for being here for all of us. I can't wait till my next visit.

Best rice ever.

My family and I have always ate here. We always pick up a bunch of salsa here and chips for our parties! The best salsa ever! Today we did our usual order but we all ordered breakfast burritos too! They were delicious. I got the chorizo and egg burrito and added beans, cheese and potatoes.

This update is overdue.  Campos now takes credit cards!

I love this place I come here all the time, but every now n then I get a terrible burrito amongst all the great ones, just like today. Sour cream burrito? You mean sour cream in a tortilla lol idk if its whoever is on shift or what cause when the owner is there its perfect every time. Therefore I don't blame campos I blame whoever made the burrito. Like a table spoon of beans but tons of rice and sour cream and a normal amount of veggies, someone needs to teach that guy how to make a burrito like the rest of the workers. Where's the beans???

They have good food. BUT........!!!!!! Their service is terrible.  Just terrible. I wish they would treat at least loyal customers with respect.

This has some of the best burritos!!! Good chips and good salsa. The only downside is the girl who works on Sunday mornings. Miserable and no personality!!! She is terrible at phone orders if she ever even picks them up. We have been on hold for 15 minutes before only to show up and then order in line.

Just had a campos carne aside burrito. Definitely not the same. It was flavorless and the asada was finely cut, almost like it was shredded. I guess I will stick with hard shell tacos from here on out. Will get burritos elsewhere. Very disappointing.

We arrived from the Valley seeking good Mexican food.  I gazed across the parking lot and saw Mission Burrito with signs advertising margaritas and other boozy options.  Jose Cuervo was calling my name. Come on Señor Gordo, you know you want a few.   Tempting but....No! Do not divert from the plan, proceed to Campos.  

And I'm glad we did because the food here was great!  My wife the Queen of Reseda and I split a loaded carne asada burrito stuffed with seasoned skirt steak, beans, rice, salsa, cheese, and guacamole. Covered in what they call Spanish sauce and melted cheese.  Wow, this was good!

We also got two chicken tacos with beans and rice and they were super tasty.  Pretty sure they make the salsa in house.  It was fresh, tasted great, and had just a little kick.  These folks know what they are doing. We were very impressed. Very friendly staff working there.  Chips and salsa on the house. Bueno!

This was some of the best Mexican food either one of us have had.  I highly recommend and will be returning for mas!  Outside patio is nice for a pleasant pandemic dinning option.
