These people are wonderful! Our truck blew its turbo and we had to get it replaced. We were stuck here for a week and they made our stay very enjoyable. For one thing once we parked the camper we had no way to move it. Lisa the manager and all the campers came together to hook us up to their one water source (later on that) to help us fill up our tank. We came in not knowing what was going to happen and they bent over backwards to make it all work (we were there for 7 days with no reservations).
The hiking around them was great. I was able to take my very active cattle dog for a 5-6 miles hike everyday. They also provide firewood, we love campfires. The campgrounds are beautiful and green. They also offer tent sites and cabins.
I would loved to have given them a five star but they need a few improvements to give the RV'ers better access to water. Putting water at each RV site would be great and a few along the tent area. A sanitation dump would also be great since they don't have sewer available at the sites. I complained of the showers being cold and they said they had put in a work order, took six days. Not acceptable!
Thanks Lisa and Brittany for everything!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Josh F.Towson, MD0711Feb 9, 2019
If I could rate this campsite any lower I would. The people who checked us in were rude and disrespectful. The power went out in our cabin and the 24 hour staff member said she refused to turn our power back on and accused us of "doing something we shouldn't"
I came here for a weekend retreat from work and we were mistreated. I wanted to cancel before coming but was told I would not be refunded. I was told I had to come check in and stay to receive my security deposit back.
The stay to get my $200 back has been a nightmare. We ended up leaving after being threatened by the desk when we demanded the power back. Never come here.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Tom M.New Albany, IN0234Sep 10, 2019
Absolutely the worst camping experience we have ever had. The site was not big enough for the advertised size RV. We were told there was water hook ups on site but after unhooking we discovered no water on site. Then one night we got back to the campground late in the evening and the campground was closed, locked up, couldn't get in. I had to leave our vehicle and jumped the gate to get to our camper. I wrote the president of the board with no response. The staff on site was pleasant enough but could not help. I would be very very cautious when staying here. As a matter of fact I wouldn't ever stay here again.

We camped Labor Day weekend and it was the best camp site We have ever been to. The manager and staff are soooo nice!! They made us feel like we were part of the family. The first night we camped in tents at a tent site and the second night we stayed in a small cabin. The "small" cabin was incredible. It had four bunk beds and a fan. Both sites were great!!! They have several bath house with toilets and showers. The place you check in is at a beautiful barn. This is where you check in and they have a store with firewood and other camping essentials. They also have a rock wall upstairs in the barn that is free for campers. All in all it was a wonderful weekend and we will be back!!!

We recently hosted my daughters bridal shower at Camp Sullivan. Lisa, Carol, and the entire staff were more than accommodating and went above and beyond from the beginning to the end of our stay. They made sure the day went smooth as possible. We highly recommend if anyone has an event to go to Camp Sullivan. Thanks again for the great service.

Decent spot for being so close to the city. I camped here one night in my sprinter while getting some seats installed in a nearby town. It was during Covid quarantine so, the place was almost completely empty. I prefer a more secluded campground but this was nice. I'm pretty sure cook county residents get a discount so, give them a cook county address when you pay. Any address will do.

What a gem! This camp ground is a wonderful hide-away tucked just off a major street, you would never even know it! The staff, especially the manager Lisa is so helpful and kind. There was a snafu with our reservation and she went above and beyond to accommodate my family. We stayed in cabin 10. We checked in on a Friday and Lisa came to check on us on Saturday morning to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Every staff member that we would pass would wave or say hello. The bathroom/shower facilities are spotless. The family bathroom is also impeccable and we appreciate the family bathroom so dad can help daughter use the bathroom if I couldn't or I was busy. They have lots of activities to do as a family- our daughter was able to do the climbing wall for free, the had a s'more circle and guided night hike both Friday and Saturday. Another employee walked over to our site to tell us about these activities! We were so pleased with our stay that we will definitely be back! Thank you Lisa and staff!

It's a decent option if you want something close to the city. The facilities are nice and new and it is well staffed with activities on Saturday and Friday nights. The tent campsites are just so-so and some were missing picnic tables or really unlevel or washed out and muddy. Site 20 looked pretty bad and 17 was probably the best. On the plus side there is great tree cover and some privacy for all the tent sotes, which you don't often get in the forest preserves. They charge $5 for a small bundle of firewood and require you buy any wood there. That would be fine, but the wood wasn't seasoned very much and smoldered more than burned. Being close to the city means you will be camping with the constant sound of cars and the occasional siren in the background, which does take away from the experience a little. For that reason alone we probably won't be back, but I don't really regret trying it out either. It's fine as long as you adjust your expectations.
