Customers love it when our specially trained baristas make latte art for them. Our front of house staff are very friendly and we enjoy making great coffee.

Mocha was decent, but nothing to write home about.
Wifi password not readily apparent. Food and drinks come out with a buzzer.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 19, 2025
Since 2003, Cafe on the Ave has been a staple to the university district. It's an interesting place that's fit for students looking for a place to study, big groups looking to dine together, have a late brunch, or even happy hour. They quite literally have everything. A full coffee shop and pastries, a full brunch menu (until 3 PM), a sandwich menu, a pasta menu, an Asian fusion menu, a happy hour food menu, a full bar (4 PM onwards), wifi, and is open late at night. Umm, say less?
This is a casual joint where you pay first and then pick and bus your own food. There was a lot more seating than I expected and they open the garage door when the weather nice and you can sit in the patio area as well. Service was quick and drinks and food were solid. Not the best I've had, but not terrible either. Their portions are quite large, which is great for students. If you're an early riser, they even have some specials before 10AM. Stationed on a corner near the udistrict light rail station, it's a convenient stop for anyone looking for food, drink, or study.

Located in a very central area on the ave, this cafe has a nice variety of food, cafe drinks, and lots of seating. I saw many people studying while eating.
The portion is very generous. I got the pesto pasta with chicken. It didn't say it would come with garlic bread so that was a nice surprise. The chicken was so soft and tender and well seasoned! They garnished it grated mozzarella and basil. I also got an ice latte and it was really good too.
You order at the counter, find a seat, and they'll give you a number plaque. They'll bring you your food, but for drinks you'll have to get yourself at the counter when the buzzer goes off.

The place has a casual dive bar-meets-café atmosphere. The staff were friendly and made me feel welcome. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite hit the mark, though perhaps other menu items are better. It's a bit of a gamble what you'll get. On the other hand, it's a great place to study or journal.

I just ordered the worst gyudon I've ever had in my life and I'm not even exaggerating.
This is up there in terms of the most disgraceful things done to Japan since WW2 like man, take this off the menu PLEASE if you're gonna do it this awfully, JESUS!!
LOOK AT MY PICS BRUH, GYUDON IS A RICE BOWL NOT A SOUP BOWL, LOOK HOW WATERY TS IS. this place is cookedddddd

This place is definitely interesting with its fusion of more American Classics that you'd expect from a diner and then having Korean food on the menu too. I haven't ventured out because I'm not too sure about the authenticity of Korean food at this place because the American food here is kind of subpar it's what you expect from maybe like a Denny's but maybe a star above a Denny's. That's a lot of words to just say basic but good with its staples. I've had their club sandwich but i always love to once in a blue moon get their chicken fried steak with gravy, hashbrowns, and some sausage, that's a solid breakfast or lunch and it's delicious. But aside from those dishes and having my morning chai....its solid but kinda mid. 6.5/10

The menu is customizable for vegetarians but a bit more difficult with dairy free options, especially the drinks. The kimchi fried rice has dairy and it can't be removed unfortunately too. Got a drink and it was fine. The servers were polite and efficient. The ambiance is kinda like having breakfast or lunch in a dive bar with lots of natural lighting, which was fine. Very popular student hangout.

One of my favorite spots in udistrict! I love the kimchi fried rice and the basil pesto pasta. Recently tried the tomato basil soup and it was so creamy and delicious!
The portions sizes are generous too! Value for money

I mean their food has always been mediocre and over priced but their new format of open air nightclub with absolutely no sound barriers for those who live close is absolutely awful for residents around them. The fact that I can hear every word of the songs they play from down the block is excessive and keeps me from actually enjoying my own apartment during the weekend because drunk college students apparently need to scream in the streets late into the night.

I was honestly confused when I came here since they had coffee, american breakfast and lunch items, asian inspired food, and soju but loved the range and diversity.
I came here with three other people a bit around noon on a Saturday. You order and then get a seat. We were able to find a table easily to sit all of us.
I got the salmon benedict. I liked the hollandaise sauce and the eggs, but wish the croissant was more toasted and they put more salmon.
I feel like this would be a great place to study since it's around campus!
