9/11/2020Café Milano is one of my favorite places in Georgetown. The service is OUTSTANDING each time I have been here, the drinks are fabulous, the food is delicious and filling. I appreciate that you are greeted and sat immediately and treated very well throughout your stay. Almost made me feel famous or important LOL.
Their food selection is great, along with their drink selection. I don't think there is any diet they cannot accommodate. I had the Tagliatelle Zegna which was very tasty!!!
The location is excellent as it is one or two blocks off of M St. and Wisconsin Avenue. Overall, I will definitely be back!! - PHAN D.Fairfax, VA
9/4/2020What is there to say about this place? Impeccable service. High standards for both food quality and safety. And smashing good food.
We actually came to Georgetown to go to another restaurant when we stumbled upon Cafe Milano. We'd never dined here but knew of the place.
Opted for outdoor seating because.. you know. And we were pretty casually dressed while every diner inside was suited up. Our server was perfect from start to finish. Menu recommendations, assured us of the safety measures (best I've seen for any restaurant thus far) and made sure we enjoyed everything.
Octopus for the appetizer was crispy and juicy. I went for the veal chop (bigger than my head). A spot of dessert and we headed home happy, full, and with a lunch portion of leftover veal.
I will be bringing people here for special occasions.

8/23/20202 check-insNot as expected at all for all reviews and ratings ...
We were greeted nicely and staff is on point we had 3 servers asking us for the order where we already placed. Food was tasty but not as expected. The mussels were mostly empty shells and the sea food pasta with lobster ! Was all tail so you have to do the work to dig it from the shell. Tiramisu was alright... a bit creamy.
Overall nice to visit .... but very stressful atmosphere ! I don't know why!!

8/21/2020I've dined at Cafe Milano many times (pre-Covid)
My husband and I have been experimenting with restaurant takeout throughout DC 4-6 days a week. Some restaurants have impressed us with their fabulous takeout presentations and food as fresh as dining in. Cafe Milano food arrived in a cardboard takeout container but, what really was disappointing, was Milano served pasta that was not homemade and clearly from a box(at a supermarket...maybe Barlia?) There is no excuse for serving dried pasta (from a box) when you're and Italian restaurant. It's disappointing to charge the prices Milano charges and present subpar institutional food. With restaurants struggling to survive during these challenging times one would expect an effort. You missed the mark - Gigi M.Washington, DC
6/15/2020This was such a great experience especially during these crazy times. I treated. Couple of folks and we had a varied menu. We shared a Caprera salad which was very good but could have used more tomato. I heard there is a tomato shortage so I hope that is the reason one person had a Linguini Moschino (lobster in red sauce), one aTagliateli Zegna (bolonesse) pasta and I had a cheese pasta special. We were very happy with all of our dishes and the service. Pricy but you get what you pay for. First time but won't be the last. Atmosphere very nice as well.

2/9/2020This was the second restaurant we visited during Winter Restaurant Week 2020. We came for lunch, and the interior was more colorful and louder than I was expecting.
The complementary bread was pretty standard. Decent, but not exceptional.
Appetizer: carrot & potato timbale
I've never had anything like this before, but I actually enjoyed this a lot. It was pretty much like a savory corn bread with a sour/salty cream on top. I thought that the cheese in the middle paired very well with the other flavors.
Entrée: seafood ragout and calamari pasta
Don't let the seemingly small portion size fool you. This was actually very filling, and they managed to fit a lot of seafood onto the plate. The pasta was served al dente, which I personally don't prefer, but the flavor was good.
Dessert: panna cotta
While my friends thoroughly enjoyed the panna cotta dessert, I thought it was fine. (I think this is more of a personal preference if anything). I do have to say, the texture of the dessert was very nice and smooth.
Overall, I'm glad I experienced Cafe Milano, but I don't know if I would make the trip here if it wasn't for Restaurant Week.

12/21/2019Would not recommend this place if you just want to have a regular/tasty dinner.
The place had pretty good atmosphere and services. Most customers dressed up for dinner.
However, the food was tasteless. Both veal and sea bass didn't have much flavor in it. But every dish is pricey. We ordered a salad and 2 entrees. We paid 110 in total. The 16-dollar salad only has lettuce and walnuts.
We were very disappointed at the plain flavor.

11/3/20192 check-insThe best Italian food by far in Georgetown, you will not leave with left overs cause it's that amazing. Didn't have a reservation but they were nice to let us grab a drink at the bar and wait outside to be seated.
Y'all their bread is awesome and the food omg. I wish I took a photo. It is expensive but so worth it, skip out on Filomena and check out cafe Milano. - Fa R.Montreal, Canada
4/13/2019A Georgetown institution.
Our waiter (barman) Massimo was just incredibly nice. Such a customer service professional. He made our visit exceptional!
We had two gin tonics and calamari plate for 60$. Yes, it's pricey but it's part of the unique experience.
The bread was fresh. The olive oil amazing! - Denise N.Washington, DC
8/30/2019This is one of my favorite hidden spots in Georgetown. The staff are attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food is amazing and easily comparable to authentic Italian food. Make sure you don't leave without having the tiramisu because it really is life changing!!!!

3/11/2020Updated reviewThis is a restaurant located only in four seasons hotel in Abu Dhabi And George Town in Washington D.C. so we were excited and had many expectations but unfortunately food and service are not worth what they ask. My boyfriend had the spaghetti di gragnano al Pomodoro with wagyu meatballs and my kids and I had pizzas, nothing amazing at all.
Its not good that we had to go find the waiter and wait on them to bring us bread, I asked if they had an apple martini and the waiter never got back to us, And the restaurant was not actually busy, so I can imagine what it might be like if they were busy. And also, they didnt have lasagna.. what kind of Italian restaurant doesnt have lasagna?? Cmon
Not worth the money they ask. High prices, food taste ok and location looks kind of old. Nothing sophisticated at all. Dont get the $60 bowl of spaghetti.
Very disappointed after all what we paid. We won't be back.
After their respond I called to the number they gave me and oh surprise! That phone number is disconnected! Really? Now we can see how tricky they are.

8/18/2019One of my absolute favorite restaurants in DC. Cafe Milano features upscale Italian cuisine in Georgetown. The decor is no frills, giving it a slightly more relaxed feel; however it is still white tablecloth. To keep it fun though, all the pasta dishes are named after Italian fashion designers
I've been many times over the last 10 years, and every time remains a treat! No meal has ever disappointed me here. I love all the antipasti. For pasta, my favorites are the Ravioli Cavalli and Tagliatelle Zenga. For meat, the Veal chop is excellent...I'll crave this from time to time.
The restaurant is incredibly accommodating too. I came here with my entire family, and my sister is very picky. She loves pasta, but will only eat it with butter or Alfredo. The chef custom made her an Alfredo (not on menu), which she said was one of the best she'd ever had (and it was incredible based upon the bite I stole).
If you're headed into DC, be sure to book a reservation here. - Sharece M.Valley View, OH242 friends11 reviews49 photos
12/17/2019I love the fact that we were able to get a reservation for 6 at a late time on a Saturday night! This place was jumpin and jumpin in a good way. The music was perfect, the vibe was great and the food was Amazing! The breadsticks on the table are soooo good!
Our group of six started off with a charcuterie board. I don't eat pork, but I did eat the bread and tomatoes. The tomatoes were sooo fresh and delicious! For my main meal I ordered the eggplant dish. It was really good. It had a thicker consistency than what I am accustomed to, but the flavor was on point. Others ordered the Sole fish and it had a great lemon/butter dipping sauce. One person in our group ordered the risotto with truffles on top! It was superb, although it wasn't cooked as well as I have typically had it. The wine selection was Great and the service was Outstanding! Great night out with good food and friends.

2/22/2020Amazing service!!! Was skeptical because of the reviews I saw but honestly worth the money! I ordered the Alfredo and it was the best Alfredo I've ever had! My mother in law had the pink sauce fettuccini with shrimp . Everything was perfect!!!

3/9/20201 check-inAmbience is vibrant and fun, the service was great, our experience was wonderful, the only thing is the food lacked seasoning, the pasta and the risotto were a little bland, but I would go back to give them a second chance just based on the vibe of the place.

2/17/2020Unless you're going there to be seen, save your money and go somewhere else.
The server wrote us off, only providing minimal attention. The octopus was tough and the pasta was forgettable.
Only thing keeping them at a three star rating for me is the fact that the Berkshire pork filet was pretty good.

12/25/2019Great atmosphere and wonderful customer service but the food is blah...overpriced brunch for Christmas Day
How can you have an omelet/egg station and not offer breakfast meat?
No bacon and no sausage!
Shoot - I had to ask for bread which wasn't even toasted.
And not even an offer for juice but prosecco. Come on..This was brunch or what? ("bougie vegan brunch...")
The other entrees were ok but best suited for a vegan and not for a carnivore like me.
Great staff but they won't see me again.
I should have read the reviews before going then maybe I would not have been disappointed.
I only ate 1 chicken leg, smoked salmon, salad and vegetables and still for 2 people this brunch was $200 plus tax. I would have had a better meal if I wasn't so tired and cooked.
My groceries would have cost less than that 2 plates of food I ate.
Lesson learned

8/1/2020Snobby SOBs. I make 100K plus which isn't a lot ( for DC or NY etc) and had the rudest waiter and food runners Ive come to know. Before getting into consulting I worked for 10 years in food service. I was treated when entering with a scoff, which is crazy since I had on brooks brothers, j crew and a 300K watch on, and a reservation. Go to Filomena instead.

4/12/2019Service was great, let's leave it at that. We sat at the bar and barmen gave us all the attention and was not annoyed taking multiple photos of me and my friends. Service was quick and nice ambience.
We planned pre ballet dinner with cocktails and I was excited to try famous cafe Milano food.
Now reading reviews I am upset I haven't read it before.
Simply terrible uneatable meal. I feel bad about all the service people who is dealing with returning food back to the kitchen. I did not mind to pay, but manager insisted for an exchange and I decided that cheese platter is hard to screw up. I was very hungry and instead of leaving satisfied with great Italian pasta dish, I left bloated from nuts, cheese and bad pasta and leaving $65 there ...
Bottom line you need to do something about your kitchen.
