We are now open for indoor and outdoor dining at full capacity. Bring a warm layer should you choose to dine outdoors since SF weather is unpredictable. We take reservations via Open Table but walk-ins are also welcome. We can also accommodate large groups for any type of event. We will continue to offer take out and delivery via Grubhub, DoorDash, UberEats or by calling us. We look forward to serving you and we take all necessary measures to protect you and our staff! Bastille has patio seating with heating lamps and a canopy. The seating is bistro style and offers more than 40 seats outdoors and more than 60 seats indoors. The ambiance is relaxed and fun. Cafe Bastille will be 30 years old in 2020 and was the first restaurant on Belden Lane. There is a private dining area downstairs where we can accommodate your special event (birthday party, business dinner, rehearsal dinner, etc...). We look forward to welcoming you!

So buzzing on a Monday eve! Came here for a client dinner and was so surprised at how this turned out.
I really liked their lamb skewers and escargot ! If you've never tried escargot, cafe bastille is a good place to try it a first time.
Very welcoming and lively atmosphere and easy on the pocket as well! Definitely recommend their tapas over the French menu. Recommend - 91761516/24/2022
Ok, been eating out at this point every night, this was the last time on my trip, Except I went more to keep a friend company than have another big meal. Â One problem , I was blown away by the options, and when I saw the rabbit in a cream-mustard sauce??? I had ti try it. Our waiter said that was his personal favorite on the menu,
The flavor, presentation, and attentive waiter (tall French accent, can't remember name) made the night!  Next time in SF I'm tryin the duck confit (if they do rabbit that  well, I have to). - Amber M.Glendale, CA7131411/28/2022
Stumbled upon this cute French restaurant and popped in for a drink. Aperol Spritz and specialty cocktails were all well received. Snacked on the delicious bread, French onion soup, and the haricot verts. There were TVs in the bar so we were able to watch the World Cup as well.

It's restaurant week! We had a reservation for dinner yesterday around 7pm. We decided to go with their restaurant week menu. Menu for dinner is $45 per person for a 3 course meal.
We were given a basket of bread while waiting for our order. The bread tasted stale and the oil to dip the bread in didn't have any taste to it. Service here was quick. We didn't have to wait long for our order.
For the first course, my boyfriend chose the beef empanadas and I got the salmon tartar. The beef empanadas are served with baby lettuce salad and pepper sauce. I never tried empanadas before so I got to try a little piece of it and it was so good. The only complaint my boyfriend had was that they were small. As for the salmon tartar, this is fresh and smoked salmon, with crème  fraiche and dill oil. I didn't know that the fish in this dish would be raw. I only tried a little bit of it. It did taste good but I couldn't eat raw fish though. Â
The second course, we got the pork tenderloin and pan seared branzino. The pork tenderloin comes with garlic mashed potatoes, whole grain mustard sauce and sautéed dried fruit. My boyfriend really like this dish. He said this was the best he has ever tasted. The dish tasted succulent and the sauce was good. The pan seared branzino comes with roasted tomato sauce, sautéed spinach with pine nuts & raisins and crispy jamon serrano. I never had branzino before. I actually had to look up branzino to find out it was a type of fish. This dish was really good too.
The third course, we got the chocolate ganache cake and lemon mascarpone cake. The chocolate ganache cake was super delicious. It did not taste so sweet too. The lemon mascarpone cake was good as well but the chocolate ganache was the best one.
Overall, we enjoyed our experience here. The food was delicious and service was great. - 4651422004/29/2022
Meh Spanish restaurant
Pro:
- lively atmosphere with a nice outdoor seating
- Garlic shrimp was a delicious dish, highly recommend. There were garlic pieces that were fried so it was crunchy.
Con:
- a bit pricey
- limited parking
- pretty crowded on a Thursday night, recommend rsvp ahead of time
- paella takes awhile and was ok quality, I would skip it since the rice was a little too moist.
- very loud atmosphere, hard to have a conversation
- the outdoor heaters weren't turned on - Vivi B.Santa Clara, CA507413510/22/2022

I have been coming to Cafe Bastille for many years to eat their wonderful savory crepes and French onion soup. Â To my disappointment, they no longer serve the crepes. Â They now only serve one dessert crepe. Â It is so unfortunate because their savory crepes were the best in San Francisco and in the East Bay. Â The current menu has nothing special for me except the French soup. Â The salad that was served with the dish I ordered was completely drenched with dressing. Â I left 3/4 of it on the plate. Â I have never been served a soggy salad there in the past. Â Also, they no longer add a chocolate piece with the cappuccino.
I loved to go to Cafe Bastille with family and friends but now I feel there is really nothing served that I can't get elsewhere.
The service was good. Â The waiters were nice. - 11830414662/28/2021
The restaurant has two sets of the menu: French cuisine and a Spanish one.
You'll love all of the food here.
Food is light and not bulky so that you won't feel the bloat after eating.
Here are some recommended dishes:
1) Steak
2) Roasted Salmon
3) Mushroom Pasta
4) Duck
Cocktails are good too. I picked the cucumber vodka. - 711411016/23/2022
Caught up with my friend at Cafe Bastille for a quick post-work drink and snack. It was pretty empty around 4:30PM though my friend was told that they were pretty booked up later on for reservations. We sat outside-- the outdoor seating options at Belden Alley are all awesome and covered. I was a little confused by the menu since the name of the place is definitely French but they also serve tapas and have a significant selection of Spanish beers and wine. Most important for me was the availability of Estrella Damm lager on draft--I get nostalgic about my Spain trip from years ago. It's as good as I remembered. The tapas selection had some of the usual staple items and we got patatas bravas and tortilla espanola. Both were delicious and went well with the beer. I guess it ended up somewhat on the expensive side-- 2 tapas and 2 beers split between the two of us ended up at around $27 each including tip. But it was worth it. Bonus was how incredibly nice the staff were.
