I am so grateful that I started training at Busy's. The instruction here is top notch and the community built around it is cooler than anything I've been a party of. You aren't just learning flashy techniques here (though there are many), you're also learning how to defend yourself in practical ways and lessons that apply to your whole life not just Jiu jitsu.

You don't know what you're missing. Jiu jitsu is awesome. My son and I train here and we would never go anywhere else.

My son started training with Professor Mario "Busy" Correa and his awesome coaches several weeks ago. He loves to train at Busy BJJ. Professor Busy, besides being a natural at teaching kids and adults, has developed a very structured class.
I'm a Texas and Colorado certified bilingual elementary school teacher; teachers are taught about the bloom's taxonomy in order to gradually teach students. Well, at Busy BJJ, it is not any different, which is very positive in my eyes. I have seen at least the first three points of focus from the bloom's taxonomy integrated in his lessons, which are: Knowledge (Remember), Comprehension (Understand), and Application. I'm pretty sure the other three (Analysis, Evaluation, and Synthesis) come with the advanced classes.
I am very pleased to have my son training at Busy BJJ. So much that I signed up and started training two weeks after my son did.
Join Busy BJJ. It is a very friendly place with a sense of community.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kevin S.Saint Paul, MN757Jul 31, 2012
This is a pretty sweet place to train bjj. Very informative BB instructor, "Busy" and the rest of the coaching staff is great, as well. The atmosphere is respectful and friendly, yet at the same time it can be very competitive and encouraging, to help us get to that next step on the stairway to BJJ.
I've been training here since October '11 and before I started I checked out a few other places. One place, there was an injury because of the intensity with lacking technique and so that put me off. At busy bjj, you don't roll until the professor thinks you're ready and puts you with people that will not intentionally hurt you.
A great place to train BJJ.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joseph T.Kenosha, WI136219Feb 18, 2011First to Review
While I am not enrolled as a student at Busy Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (yet), I did drop in to view a class and tour the facilities and was quite impressed with what I saw.
Located in the basement of an office building in Greenwood Village, the training floor is large enough to accommodate a good size class whether in BJJ, Judo, or Muy Thai. Changing rooms are available as are locker rooms for both men and women (including showers). There is also a weight room and racquetball court. The facilities were clean and the staff was very welcoming.
Both Mario and Shawn were great working with the kids. If you are looking for instruction in BJJ for yourself or your children, I would highly recommend that you check out Busy Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ken M.Englewood, CO29May 12, 2011
I've had the pleasure of studying a few other styles (Kenpo, Aikido, and Krav Maga) and have found my brief time at Busy BJJ by far the most addictive and productive. (Lost about 12 pounds in my first month and a half)
Professor Mario "Busy" Correa (protege of Carlos Gracie Jr.) and Coach Shawn Portela have created a World-Class BJJ Academy that offers the full spectrum of training - from kids & teen's (really fun but disciplined), women's, Muay Thai, Beginner/Fundamentals to an extremely competitive training environment. Something for everyone!
Give the week trial a shot - you won't regret it.
Hope to see you on the mat!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Austin F.Denver, CO13388Apr 3, 2013
What an excellent BJJ school. This school lives up to it's name as I am VERY busy and don't get to as many classes as I would like. But this school offers classes early in the morning before work, around lunch, after work and even after dinner time there is a class for you.
The instructors and the fellow students are very respectful, friendly and helpful. I love the fact that you get such detailed instruction on technique for both self-defense and tournament play. The mat is very comfortable and you can get through an entire class without feeling beat-up.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jamey D.Littleton, CO1231Jul 2, 2014
Great school and great people.
We've been bringing our kids (ages 7 & 10) here for about 18 months and they love it.
Professor and the coaches are so good at working with the kids it's amazing. Now if I could just get myself to show up I could leave a first hand review of the adult training. ;-)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
