    Buellton Garage is a family owned and operated auto repair shop that has earned its trustworthy reputation through the years. Josh Hurnblad, grew up in his father's repair shop, he was trained by his father and worked with him for 20 years before opening Buellton Garage. Josh and his wife Jeni moved to Buellton in 2004 and fell in love with the area and the community. They are so happy to call the Valley their home and raise their three children here. The next natural step for their family was to bring their business here. At Buellton Garage you are treated like a member of our family. It is that personal touch and genuine care for our customers that the Hurnblad family has been known for through the decades. We value building relationships with our customers based on trust and knowledge. We understand that getting your car repaired can be inconvenient and sometimes stressful.       Hi, do you evaluate used cars? I'm looking to buy a used car from a local dealer and was wondering if you would take a look for any issues. It's a 2020 Lexus RX 350 F Sport with 7300 miles on it. It may have been used as a loaner.

      My daughter's car broke down while on her way from San Diego to Cal Poly. The Buellton CHP office recommended the Buellton Garage. We limped her car there after hours and got her back to school. I went back to San Diego with my fingers crossed that I would get taken to the cleaners for leaving the car with an unknown shop.

      The overall experience was awesome. Communication was seamless and straightforward , the work was done as quoted and at a reasonable price. They even offered to deliver the car to my daughter at Cal Poly....

      Class act across the board.

      We are visiting Solvang when we had an issue with our vehicle, not knowing where to go we picked the best service garage & with Mandy's help & expertise they helped us get the car fixed quickly. Everyone here is so nice & friendly, I highly recommend this service garage for any repairs, Thank You!!!

      While some complain that they always find something wrong with their car that they were not planning on repairing, I will say they do the most honest and comprehensive job of anyone in SB County. I take all 4 of my cars (from Porsche's to ranch trucks) to them. They are always courteous and caring and now that they own Steve's, their ability to take care of everything just got that much better.

      After several trips to many mechanics, some being good and some not...I'm deciding to share my experience as it seems to be common among most of the mechanics I've visited. That being said...I simply selected this particular garage as Google displayed only 2 in the area. The call was pleasant. The office manager was happy to get me in the shop the same day. I let her know in advance that I had been to multiple car shops and that I have the diagnostic reports indicating what the problem is. I was hoping this would save them time and they could look for other solutions to the problem. Long story short...I finally get a call roughly 4.5 hours later and I'm told exactly what I already knew. The mechanic stated on the report that further testing would be necessary to pinpoint the problem. I was charged $143. Yes, I was disappointed but again not surprised. Fast forward...on my way back home to LA I'm driving on the freeway at a high rate and I hear a loud pop. I pulled over thinking I had blew a tire. This was not the case. Come to find out...the bottom plastic cover of the car had come apart. He has not been securely or properly replaced. I end up waiting 2.5 hours for a tow from AAA. Thus, the next day I called the office manager to report this. She initially said the mechanic never went under the car although she had previously told me my car was "on the rack". Then she back tracked and said this simply meant he had simply plugged in the diagnostic device. This is what I thought from the very beginning. So why did they keep my car 4.5 hours? Why did they charge me the $143 fee to tell me Exactly what I already knew, with evidence of the same reports? Based on what she said, this means they didnt do an actual inspection of not car. But I'd they did in fact, then they failed to put it back correctly which could have led to a way more unfortunate incident on the freeway. So my question is...was she lying then or lying now about services (if any) was performed. She said she check with thr mechanic and get back to me. She never did! But again, I didnt expect she would as her tone/attitude had completely changed when questioned about their testing. In fact, she even said that perhaps I should take back to LA to get looked at further. Agree...provided she had refunded my money. This did not happen. Clearly mechanics time costs. But they should be upfront and honest about what they do or dont do and their limited capabilities and charge accordingly. Not just falsely lead customers on, secure their "diagnostic fee" upfront, then leave you hanging or having to pay for further "testing".

      BE WARRY. I went in for an oil change and they told me my coolant system had to be replaced. They quoted me $900 for the parts and labor. It didn't sound right so I took it down the road to Olivera's who ran an extensive diagnostics test and found that they were just loose clasps. He also told me the work they wanted to do should only have cost around $300. I saved nearly a grand and am so grateful I got a second opinion.

      The one good part of this shop is that the employees are incredibly kind.

      I recently moved to Buellton/Solvang/Santa Ynez area and was looking for a place that could service both my used Audi coupe and my used GMC truck. Buellton Garage had solidly good reviews all around. They did not disappoint.

      My Audi hadn't been fully serviced during Covid. So, she had a few things to check and fix, and they did a great job. They fixed the passenger side window that was not auto-closing/opening. And they did the service check, so I find she is reliable again.

      Brough the GMC truck for an oil change. They also did the 60-mile service on her. As I was taking it down to LA, I wanted it in top-notch condition.

      They also have the text/email and phone communication down pat. I always know where my car is in the process. They also call and check on the car the next day as well.

      100/100 service. I can't recommend the team at buellton garage enough! They were so kind, knowledgeable and understanding. I had gone somewhere else for the last 5 + years and am so happy I made the switch. They offer concierge services if you need a ride as well as a sweet more the moment I got in my car for visiting them. Reasonable prices and I got $20 off from a discount card they sent in the mail! Don't go anywhere else. Worthy!

      We've taken our vehicle in twice. first was for an oil change, the second was for an oil change and some brake/ shocks work they had recommended previously due to current wear on the vehicle.

      Buellton Garage has excellent communication. They ask good questions and are pleasant and knowledgable. They're really clear with setting expectations. Both times they completed the work ahead of schedule.

      They clearly take a lot of pride in their business. On top of quality work and great communication, they add a lot of little customer service touches I never experienced with a mechanic. They even left some goodies in the car after we got a bunch of work done--our kids were so excited and surprised!

      They provide thorough inspections with clear notes. They even recommended things they don't yet provide (like new tires), which gives off the vibe that they want their customers to have a safe and functional vehicle even when they're not profiting from it directly.

      Lots of positive things to say about this business. Grateful to have access to something like this in my community.

      Here we go... went in for a simple oil change because the shop I usually take it to was closed. They found humor in my attempt for a same day oil change, so I made an appointment for the following week...just to compare and contrast.
      At said appointment, I dropped off my vehicle and was told it would take the day (which I'm not accustomed to). At some point during the day I receive a call that a mechanic has inspected my car and I was given a laundry list of everything my car needs which equaled to just over 3 months pay. Having a well maintained car, I opted for only the oil change. Several hours later I finally pick up my car. The very next day it's not running the same. Coincidence??
      I'll be returning to my regular car guy to assess what happened so suddenly to my very dependable/reliable car.

      I really wanted to like this place. It was clean and professional looking and the desk people are really friendly and accommodating.

      Unfortunately, the prices were very high and I'm not sure the problem is solved. They said they'd send pictures of the problems, but never did.

      When I picked up my car, the windshield had been sprayed with a translucent whitish fluid and hastily wiped down with a dirty rag. I had to clean it before I could drive down the road. The steering wheel and shift knob were absolutely black and transferred it to my hands. I had to pullover and clean them both before continuing to drive. This made me think that the flyer left in the car proclaiming that the vehicle had been "sanitized for my safety" was anything but true.

      They did not follow up to inquire about my experience. Anyway, I won't be returning here.
