Recently on Saturdays my boyfriend walks over to this cafe to grab me a bagel sandwich and smoothie. I originally was worried because they don't have the traditional meats that are in breakfast sandwiches, but I decided that unless I gave it a try I wouldn't know. Let me just say I am SO HAPPY I gave it a try. The green egg & cheese sandwich was EXQUISITE & exceeded my expectations. It was perfectly cooked and had a perfect texture, while also not being overwhelmingly greasy like a lot of other cafes' food. I customize my own smoothie (the perfect smoothie, add strawberries, blueberries, PB, skim milk) and it is easily my new favorite of all the places in this area. 10/10 Â all around Im motivated to try all menu items (:

It's been a while since I've been back at Brothers & Sisters (and its predecessor), but this morning I stopped by to grab a hot drink and sit for a bit. I got a hot chai latte with almond milk, which was nicely spiced and only slightly sweetened - on point for me. They make their own concentrate from the local Mem Tea's chai masala blend.
I didn't grab a pastry, but I appreciated seeing the gluten free bars in separate containers. Next time!
The interior has freshened up since the old days, but the seating area is still small. They put in a couple larger tables alongside some tiny ones, but it was a squeeze to get past all the occupied chairs. Some people were there with laptops, so spots filled up quickly with slow turnover.
I'm glad to see this locally owned shop has weathered the pandemic as an alternative to the chain coffee shops nearby. I'll be back! - 5497718811/14/2022
Really cute coffee shop in Brookline! I got their fall Salted Carmel Latte. And I enjoyed how I was able to taste the saltiness as well as the sweetness. After a few sips, the drink was on the sweeter side. So I would recommend adding something to balance it out.
There was a cute little seating area within the cafe. I would definitely come here again. - Sheridan R.San Francisco, CA26853281/12/2023
Cute coffee shop to work in! Sometimes hard to find a seat. Good tea. Food is not bad. The staff are very friendly.

A Brookline favorite. I had never heard of this shop and came by to try some of their breakfast options. Given its size, I wasn't expecting a seating area inside but there was! It's a snug, little alcove with cozy lighting and limited seating options, though there are tables outside as well. We ordered a couple of breakfast sandwiches to eat outside. It took a while for them to be made, but it was understandably busy. The staff was still friendly! I ordered the power breakfast sandwich and it was good and filling, although it wasn't particularly memorable. I wish I could have tasted more of the caramelized onions or dijon sauce. I will have to come again to try the coffee and sit inside. I will say I think the community fridge outside is a unique and respectable choice!

Really enjoy their coffee. It is a small coffee shop In Brookline. It is super cute and easy to find. I was surprised how big it is inside.
There's plenty of places to eat, read or study. The coffee is delicious especially their iced coffee. Highly recommend it!
They also have some art work there which is nice. - Daniel T.Brookline, MA292032912/7/2022
I suppose it is a good place to come in to do some work on a laptop, or a takeout, but not to dine inside. Â They only have about 6 tables that are constantly used as work areas. I would suggest that the owner/management make a time limit on how long the person can be at a table without ordering anything, so that people who come to have a bite to eat have space to do so.

Wow the food and ingredients used are freshly made and local! This really comes through on your palette. Try this place out your mouth with thank you.
So the good or the bad first? Because there's a lot of good!
The Good -
Ingredients. Ingredients. Ingredients! I can't say it enough, the ingredients spoke through the food. You can really tell this is not some corporate owned cafe like a few down the street getting premise food from a factory, this is a place that has some real care going into it.
The textures and flavours too are well catered. The grilled cheese has a soft crunch to it curtesy of some thin apple slices with cheese that was oh so gooey and plentiful and a sprinkle of caramelized onions.
The bagel with veggie cream cheese was delightfully creamy, light, and tested my tongue with its delicate taste. The egg was again fantastic and perfectly gooey.
Coffee was made incredible, it was smooth without any hint of bitters or otherwise unpleasant remark of poorly cooked coffee. No this coffee is worth saving the milk and drinking it straight.
Mulled cider was delightful as well and incredibly aromatic. This is not the cider you bought by the gallon at the supermarket. This like the meal had great care out into crafting it. Though I do wish that the large was a bit bigger, perhaps I'm being picky but 20% more or so would have been perfect.
The Bad-
When ordering the girl at the window was a bit rude and forgotten part of my order. When I referenced back at the end to confirm my order she had insisted I had forgotten to order the item in question. She then took my card and charged it before then coming back and telling me the total post sale. This system of taking customer cards out of site to charge them is very unsettling and big security problem. Their PoS system should really be brought to the window if this is where the sales are going to take place. Additionally customers should be given a total prior to swiping their card, it's bad practice to charge someone without first informing them of how much it will be or expecting customers to add up everything in their head. This interaction was rushed and extremely just odd. I really can't understand why she insisted I had forgotten to order or the business is set up like this.
The space is gorgeous and really cozy inside but all one can do as a customer is peer inside as it's closed due to the big C word in the world. This is a bit of shame as it does deserve to be enjoyed however given its small I suppose safety above else.
The prices, while high at $25 for two drinks and a bagel and grilled cheese it is absolutely worth it for the ingredients, flavours, and experience they have created. Additionally the fact you are supporting a small local business such as this makes it entirely worth it.
All said and done the food is what earned their 5 stars, and though I would urge them to move their payment system to the window if they insist on doing business there for customer transactional transparency. Additionally get someone else on window, the other girl that was cleaning up WAS extremely pleasant, I really think a little work on the customer experience side would make this cafe a community pillar. In the end I would absolutely return. Delightful! - John B.Stoneham, MA0496/26/2022
Popped in for coffee and a bagel with my wife. All was good. Staff was friendly. Glad I went
