Was referred by a friend to try this place for state requires emissions testing. I called their phone number and they had an automated message recorded that told me what time they were available to do the tests and what required documentation was needed to get the test completed. I arrived on Friday (also Veterans Day) around 10:30am and I was in and out in 5 minutes maximum. The employee that helped me was super friendly and speedy. I also love that they instantly report to the Wisconsin DOT because I was able to go online and renew my license registration immediately after he completed the test. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone in need of emissions testing for license plate renewal.

I would rate them a Zero if I could. Showed up for an emissions test and they backed into car causing major damage! Then they changed their story when I called the Brookfield Police. Stay Away! Horrible!

Came here for an emissions test and I understand this may not be the most enjoyable thing for them to do but... showed up at 11:10 am on a Monday cuz their website clearly states they support emissions testing until noon. Went in and guy immediately stated they start up at 2pm. When I inquired why their website said until noon he said "that's the DMV website". I happened to have it pulled up still so I showed it to him and he stated "it's a phone issue... it shows up fine on my phone".
Just take the L here apologize for the inconvenience and maybe leave a note for the manager to update the website. No need to try and act like this is all my fault (or phones fault) I showed up at the wrong time. That's not how websites work.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 20, 2021
I went there for emissions testing, and they do a great job. No need for appointment...first come, first serve.
For $10 extra, they can complete the registration for you which is very convenient.
I had a light on in my car that said my tires needed air. Was surprised they didn't hit that (5 lbs needed per tire). It would have been a nice touchHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Rachel N.Milwaukee, WI05Nov 8, 2022

They offer emissions testing, but could not possibly be more rude or disorganized in doing so. Waited 20 minutes only to be told since I didn't first bring a paper copy in I would need to get back in line. If they are hoping to drive business via emissions testing as actually worked with another repair shop I recently went to, they are doing a terrible job of it.

I came here for an emissions test, and while I was waiting in the parking lot, I was able to witness one of the employees take the time to help a customer who was physically disabled walk from his car into the shop. He also took the time to walk him to the bathroom they have outside, wait outside in the cold for him, and walk him back to his car. When I went into the shop to wait for my test to be done, the employee apologized for the wait. I told him I saw the extra mile he went for the previous customer, and he answered that it is simply how he was raised and how they strive to treat their customers.

Short version: At best, this is a place where you take your car to get the oil changed or a flat fixed and they just bit off more than they could chew. At worst these people are absolute crooks. In either case, the service level is questionable and they operate without any sort of ethics.
Long version: We just moved to Brookfield from Houston, TX and didn't know anyone, so we looked on several review websites, called around for quotes, and Brookfield Auto Care wasn't the cheapest, but seemed the most respected at a decent price.
I took my F150 to Brookfield Auto Care because the driver's side vents were blowing hot air no matter what I had set the temperature to on the thermostat. (AC Mix Door was broken) I considered doing this repair myself, but decided it was beyond the skill level I wanted to attempt and it was better left to a real mechanic. I also knew that there was a slow leak in my coolant line and asked the "manager" if it wouldn't be too much trouble to look into it and maybe I'd have them fix that, too.
Again, we called multiple mechanics across Brookfield to request quotes because the problem was fairly straightforward. Some mechanic shops that we called said that they wouldn't touch the problem with the hot air coming through the vents because they didn't have the resources or didn't want to risk messing it up. I respect their honesty.
Brookfield Auto Care said they'd fix the AC mix door for a reasonable price on a quick timeline so we decided to take the truck to them. When we showed up and the "mechanic" "diagnosed" the problem and they quoted us a new price. The new quote was slightly higher than when we'd phoned about the issue. Nonetheless, I agreed to have them fix the problem because they assured me it would be fixed by the end of the day.
Later that day I called to ask when my vehicle might be ready. I was told that it wouldn't be ready till the next day. Given my flexibility on price, I was upset that I was now being asked to be flexible on timing, too.
I called the next day to see when it might be ready for me to pick up. Then I was told it wouldn't be done until Monday. Understandably, at this point, I was upset and asked what was happening. The "mechanic" who was working on the car said the "manager" who quoted the job shouldn't have quoted the job that low and should've never agreed to have the job done in that short of time. The "mechanic" didn't apologize for anything, but instead said I should be happy that they weren't going to charge me more money since it was taking so long.
After I spoke to the "mechanic," he let me speak to the "manager." When I asked the "manager" about the leak in the coolant he said it was a combination of my water pump and coolant hose. He said that it would cost me ~$850. Again, to replace the water pump and a hose (upper or lower) on an F150 he quoted me $850 after we were already committed to the first repair. (I called 3 other shops. All quoted me about ~$425 to replace the water pump and a hose)
At this point I had a pretty good idea what was happening so I agreed to have Brookfield Auto Care replace the water pump and hose, along with the AC mix door on the condition that they give me the old parts once they were done.
I called to see how their progress was coming on Monday and they said they were still waiting on a final part that they needed to order from the dealership. By Wednesday, a full week later, my vehicle was finally ready to pick up.
Just before pickup and almost miraculously, they found that my water pump and hose didn't have any issue at all. There had just been some "gunk" that needed to be removed from the hose, but otherwise the coolant system was in good shape. Would they have told me that the hose and pump didn't need to be replaced if I wouldn't have asked for them to return the old parts to me?
When I picked up my truck it was late and they were closed. I turned my truck on and was met with more problems. There was a warning light that my tire sensor was faulty. I turned on the 4x4 which also had a warning light that it needed to be serviced. Neither of these lights were on before taking it to Brookfield Auto Care. I wasn't about to leave my truck there for one more second so they could continue to fail me.
The people at Brookfield Auto Care are not professionals. The people at Brookfield Auto Care are not honest. I wouldn't trust this Brookfield Auto Care to fix a flat. They'd probably charge me $850 to fix it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Misaye Y.Wauwatosa, WI01May 21, 2021

This place is my new go-to mechanic. Dan is completely trustworthy and really tries to keep the costs down. They also had a loaner car available for me to use overnight which I didn't expect, but made life SO much easier. My frugal dad relied upon these guys for years and I can see why.
