Mediocre service. Appetizers took 45 minutes. another 45 minutes for entrees. It was just two of us. Place sucks lol

The best calamari I have had in Tampa. I had the chicken scallopini, and the sauce was absolutely perfect. Excellent service. bravo to Ryan the chef and Ellen our waitress.

This place was insanely busy on a Friday night. There was a party being held there, so the noise was very loud during happy hour.
But the food...
We ordered a Soppressata pizza to start. Best pizza ever! In fact, I will be returning just for this sweet, hot, brick-oven treasure. It had garlic sprinkled on top & was oh so good. I recommend you get an appetizer while you wait as this place is so busy food can take awhile. I didn't mind waiting after a couple slices of this deliciousness. I got a half order of bolognese & my spouse got the short rib with mushroom truffle risotto. I will say that nearly half the meat was fat. Although it was delicious, I would say not worth the price for the amount of meat vs fat.
Our mock tails were absolutely top notch. I'm glad we ordered them because the waitress slipped on water refills.
We ordered a tiramisu to-go, which I am excited to try later.
Even with the military discount, price was ~$100 for 2
There was a live singer but I could barely hear her. Biggest complaint would be the noise. Felt like I was in a club or bar versus a restaurant. We did not sit outside, but that may have made a difference in our experience. Even with that, it was solid date nightHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Liz M.St. Petersburg, FL367121Mar 21, 2024Updated review
Food is absolutely always top notch, as is service. Lovely little locals mostly crowd (at least early, when I tend to visit).
Happy Hour M-F, 4-7. Kid friendly $10 (amazing) one-topping pizza with $2 off a lovely cocktail list for the grown ups!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Mar 14, 2024Previous reviewThis is my go to after work Happy Hour. Admittedly, they sold me on their lovely little HH pizza and I have remained loyal.
It's a super cute place, tucked up at Interbay and Bayshore, in that corner plaza. Parking is weird, but available.

The short rib risotto from Bocelli is divine!
I love the creaminess and richness of the truffle mushroom risotto topped with the tender red wine braised short rib
It's always sold out so if I can get my hands on it you already know I'm getting it! I also love the pizzas, appetizers, and pasta dishes my favorite is the pesto gnocchi too!
Service and ambiance are both 9/10. It's a very local vibe and cozy inside. They had live music a bunch of the times I've gone!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - 73361897Jan 21, 2024
Plenty of parking on a Saturday night. Live music. Found a high top for two on a busy night. Fungi with sausage was delicious, but sits a little heavy with béchamel sauce. Glad we gave it a try after another close by pizza place was too busy to even order.

Bocelli is located on Bayshore Blvd in South Tampa with plenty of parking. The restaurant has a great vibe and serves generous portions of fresh, delicious, modern Italian dishes. What's great is that they mark GF on all of the gluten-friendly items on their menu! You can also request gluten-free pasta and pizza! Let that sink in for a moment... Italian Food + Gluten-Friendly.
I was told it gets very busy at Bocelli , but I think we lucked out and had our choice of many empty tables. Be sure to make reservations... just in case.
DINNER FOR 2 (with leftovers to take home)
- Fritto Misto
- Meatballs
- Short Rib Risotto (GF)
- Special: Ribeye steak topped with crab & gorgonzola sauce and roasted potatoes and tomatoes.
- Pinot Noir
- Jai Alai
The Ribeye Special was $62. So be sure to ask for prices on the daily specials before ordering (you'll thank me later).Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 18, 2023
Perfect spot for a GNO!
Met up with some friends here for dinner and drinks one evening. Parking was easy and we were able to grab a seat outside. The drinks and food were great! A few of us split a bottle of wine and chose the one our server suggested, it did not disappoint. I got the carbonara and it was so good, I could have eaten a second serving. Would definitely come back to try more of their pasta dishes whenever I'm craving Italian!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 636133Aug 2, 2023
I only snagged a picture of the Short Rib Risotto which was freaking to die for. So delicious and tender.
We also had the fritto miso which was yummy, but a bit heavy since it was all fried. Nonetheless it was delish.
The mozzarella sticks were the bomb. Cheese pulls a foot long.
Aranici were very yummy, but a side of red sauce would be good for dipping.
The meat and cheese board was not great. It was missing one of the cheeses and the goat cheese stuffed peppers. We don't like Gorgonzola but thought the other cheeses would make up for it but then they were missing so that was a bummer.
Our service was great and all the food came out quickly. The ambiance was stinking adorable with cute lights. However, the ac was dripping on my fiancé throughout dinner.
Not a perfect experience by any means, but I'll definitely be back again as the dishes I loved really wowed me.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Aug 7, 2023
Bocelli came recommended by some friends in Tampa. It was noticeable when we first entered that people must really enjoy this place because it was busy. So, I was very excited and my expectations were high.
We ordered the Short Rib Pizza and the Carbonara. The Short Rib pizza is tasty and I 100% recommend. The Carbonara on the other was not a traditional Carbonara. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture, but it was more like a spin on Carbonara than the actual dish.
Our service was very friendly, but she wasn't familiar with the menu (not able to answer some of our questions) and wasn't very attentive. I mean I understand, it was most likely a long night and just wanted to go home.
Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. To summarize my experience, the Carbonara was overpriced for what it is and the service wasn't the best. However I do think the Short Rib pizza was fairly priced and delicious.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0
