In town for a biotech conference at the Providence Convention Center, I was a bit shaggy and needed to look a little more respectable with a good old businessman-style haircut. Of course I didn't want to deal with any of the frou-frou crap I might get at some "stylist." An obscure internet reference to Bob's Barber Shop in the Hospital Trust Bldg. that mentioned his old school approach to barbering turned me on to this place.

Finding that his specialty was a classic businessman's haircut, the deal was sealed. I cut out early before lunch and headed down to Bob's.
Down at the Hospital Trust building on Dorrance, I found a little signboard out on the sidewalk welcoming me to walk up four flights to Bob's Barber Shop. Bob was there chatting with a buddy, but was all business after I came in. No nonsense and a tidy, comfortable, and clean location. Had a nice chat with Bob and he gave me some good advice about lunch at a little Italian joint nearby.
Got exactly what I needed and looked great too. Thanks Bob.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jhony K.Providence, RI811Dec 3, 2015
The place was a little bit hard to find, but it is actually one door next to dunkin donuts dorrance st providence. It is located at 4th floor (paulino properties). I do not want to sound like too much, but i would recommend this place to everybody. the reason is the old man who helped cutting my hair was so friendly (when you compare it to the one in the mall, this old man is more master than the one in the mall), he is already 66years old at this moment but he enjoys his work of helping people look good. anybody who is looking for a great place to cut, come here. the price is 16 dollars only, and he even gave me discount 1bucks. literally, i feel two things now: one, i feel like a man again, and then, two, i save another buck for a great cut.

Small one seat traditional barber shop out in Wellsville. Its a little out of the way, but worth the drive. The barber, Bob, is a nice guy and does a great job, and it was only $12. A great deal for a great cut. With the added bonus of the strait razor to shave the neck with the cut.

This is everything it says it is. Small and old school. Don't be put off by the entrance. Bob will be sitting upstairs waiting for you. I got my shaggy locks shaved off and had some pleasant conversation and was out in a few minutes. $15 bucks. What more do you want?

Now called "Bob's Barber Shop" in the Dorrance st location, this place is great. Good haircut and friendly proprietor. I got the business card to give my colleagues. The hours weren't online but the card says Mon-Fri 8:30 to 5pm, Sat 9:30 to noon.
