    Ask the Community

    • Q:

Is this a good place to bring my road bike for repairs?

      A:

I think they are capable of doing basic repairs but I don't think they stock too many parts for bikes other than the ones they rent. This is not a bike shop, per se.

I love exploring different cities by going on food tours. When I moved here 6 years ago, Bobby's Bike Hike was right across from where I lived.

They were the first food tour provider I went on in Chicago to explore the city :)

There's a lot of information about Chinese immigration and Chinese American culture that I don't know about

And a lot about Chinatown that I don't know about!

So this Chinatown food & culture tour from Bobby's Bike Hike was perfect.

I actually haven't tried any of the dishes from this chinatown tour and learned a bunch about Chicago's history!

Fyi you can get 10% off with my code for this Chinatown tour on their side :

Just took Bobby's Chicago Favorites Food walking tour with my husband and two teenage boys. We had a blast. The food was great and the culture and history we learned along the way was awesome. Jeff, aka Chicago Gandalf, was engaging and fun. My 14 year old hasn't stopped talking about it. Highly recommend for all types of groups!

We had a great experience with Ria! They were amazing, fun-filled and engaging. We were well received in all of the food places with smiling and friendly wait staff, great seating and prompt service. The pace of the walking was also really good. They also made time for us to take photos and served as our photographer!

      Would highly recommend.

      Final stop..brownie time!

Great casual tour for people of all activity levels. Fun history and information about the city and its particular neighborhoods. Our host/tour leader was funny, informative, and accommodating. We had so much fun, and experienced the "flavor" of Chicago, which enhanced our overall trip.

We booked our tour online and the booking process was easy. The day of our tour came and we walked on over to the meeting point. We saw our tour guide standing there and she quickly approached us. We signed in and we were ready to go. Our group consisted of about 15.

The food stops included: Lou Malnatis, Billy Goat Tavern, The Palmer House,

Non food stops: Millennium park, Cloud Gate, The Chicago Theater

We enjoyed every single stop and the guide kept us all informed throughout the whole tour. She was very informative and cheerful which made it a lot of fun.

Our last stop was at the Palmer House and here we enjoyed the architecture of the building and the beautiful inside. We also enjoyed a sweet brownie and she gifted us each a bag of popcorn from a local shop.

We had a great time and I definitely recommend this walking food tour! Thank you Brooke for making it fun and interesting!

Did the Chinatown Food tour and Jeff was our guide. It went almost an hour over but it was worth every penny. Jeff was a great tour guide! He did a great job with trying to make everyone feel welcome and not left out. Our group had 18 people. I also liked the historical bits he shared about the development of Chicago's Chinatown. This was definitely one of the highlights of my trip.

Found out about this tour on Airbnb experiences. The tour covered 5 restaurants between old and new Chinatown. Enjoyed all the foods. If I ever return back to Chicago, I'm coming to Chinatown first to dine out.

Made me wish Houston's Chinatown had a tour similar to this (when it's cooler of course). Anyway, if you enjoy Chinese cuisine, I highly recommend this tour if you're visiting Chicago.

Just completed a wonderful Chicago Chinatown food tour with amazing, knowledgeable, ever entertaining guide Jeff. Ask for Jeff if you ever go on any tour, you won't be disappointed!! He is an history educator and gave us a great tutorial from the beginning to the end of the memorable tour. Bobby's Bike Hike-Chicago does hiking, bike, food, history and probably other tours too, just ask them, they probably can accommodate and meet your needs!
Our group of ten received a wonderful tutorial about the origins of the cuisines of China as well as the unique history of Chicago's Chinatown experiencing some delicious cuisine from dim sum, soups, specialty chicken, and Portuguese Milk Egg Tarts as we stopped at more than six shops and restaurants. (My photos were not able to be downloaded!!)

Dan was the man! We had a group of 11 gals celebrating a 40th birthday! Dan was friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. Would 5/5 recommend the Bike Hike to any Chicago born native, suburbanite, or anyone looking for something to do in the city.

Just finished the bikes, bites, and brews tour with guide - Jeff. The tour was super duper fun. Jeff is fabulous - very warm, welcoming and friendly. The stops we had were absolutely great - one of the better Lou Malanati's in the city, and some other really yummy spots (don't want to give away all the juice). I would highly recommend this tour to anyone from or visiting Chicago.

**Jeff -- do the street mural thing. It would be amazing.

Thank you for making my second to last vacation day very memorable.
