2nd stop during our "watering hole crawl" in Boystown. Bar was particularly crowded and hard to make your way to the bartender. Drinks were rather expensive at 8.00/drink (no happy hour on a Sunday?). Just stayed for one drink and made our way out...

This place was a major disappointment. They do karaoke, and no matter the song you choose in their song book, they only choose people they like. Do NOT expect to sing the song that you want. They gaslit me into thinking people chose my song... well they lied like the pieces of T R A S H that they are

They won't give water to customers. Ridiculous. You can spend $100 on drinks but if you want a water they won't serve you. Is that even legal? Never going back again.

The staff at the bar was great, and the clientele was awesome. I like a bar where the staff is nice, and this place definitely had that!

Do not go for karaoke on Saturday Nights unless you have your own energy! Them queens are STUCK UP AND LAME, and not to mention a long waitlist for an alleged large song list that includes "requests by management!"
If u are a cliquey stuck up queen, this is a perfect spot for you. I wish Luis was back for karaoke to provide karaoke fun. He is the BEST IN THE CITY, HANDS DOWN! Want good karaoke, go to Louies in Wicker Park, gay friendly with GREAT atmosphere, energy, and gay friendly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 16, 2018
Came here at around 10:30 on a Friday night as few of the bars along the most populated section of Halsted were very busy and when we asked one of the locals if there were other places worth checking out, they mentioned Bobby Love's.
This bar isn't very large, but it's got a very cool looking wooden art deco bar with lots of backlit features that's well stocked, and from what we saw during our time here, the bartender was very generous with the pours he was giving.
As others have mentioned, this place features karaoke, which can be hit or miss. On this night there was 1 "hit", a few "misses" and a few that were singing some pretty melancholy songs about past loves, failed relationships and loves lost. In a nutshell, I needed to leave Bobby Love's before I fell into depression because of the songs the singers were choosing, so we made our way back to the area of Boystown where most of the bars are located.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Feb 26, 2018
I'm not sure where Bobby Love's has been all my life, but I'm sure glad I found it! As many times as I've been to Chicago and ventured into Boystown, I've never been here until my last trip to Chi-town changed everything.
While having dinner with a friend (that review is for another time), he asked, "do you want to go to a karaoke bar?" I said, "sure, why not? What's not to love about embarrassing yourself in a city you don't live in?"
Upon entering the dimly lit and kind of gritty feeling bar, Madonna's "Rain" from her Erotica album is being sung by an older gentleman at the corner of the bar where the stage is set. I knew instantly that this was going to be a good time.
The bar itself is really small. It's got the bar (naturally) and a few tables set up along the wall. The karaoke stage is at the corner of the room and when I mean stage, yes, you stand on a stage overlooking the crowd. The guy running the show is in the other corner, kind of like the Wizard of Oz, making sure you sound amazing (if possible). If you're shy, you'll hear him interject with a "everyone sing along" or if you're not shy and just bad you'll realize that person's microphone is being turned down or off...
We drank pitchers of beer and sang out hearts out. And honestly, I had a blast. Everyone at the bar, from the patrons to the staff were extremely friendly. Everyone was singing along to pretty much every song. It was probably the most fun I've had in a long time. I can't wait to come back to Chicago just so I can sing a few songs and have a great time at Bobby Love's.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0 - 1347201752046Jun 17, 2017
Great place to do karaoke. It's not the largest place and it can be difficult to hear yourself at times, but the best part about this bar is the extremely talented patrons that will sing along with you (particularly if you're doing Disney or musicals) or join you if you ask for a duet. And when I say talented, I really mean talented. The level of singer here is definitely a cut above your typical bar-night karaoke. The drinks here are also reasonably priced and come in decent sized containers. The bar itself is a little on the small side, but most of the time isn't extremely packed.

I got here early on a Friday night (9:15ish) after dinner and hung around long enough to hear some people singling karaoke, down a pitcher of vodka and lemonade, and people watch from a comfy bar seat while the bartender provide some suggestions on what he would do in order to get me to give my bracelet to him. (I had to check the next day to make sure I still had my bracelet)
Bobby Love's is a cute little spot in the middle of the city. The crowd ranged in age from young to old and from male to female. Everyone is welcome at Bobby Love's.. and the drinks make me want to go back rather quickly.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
