Bill's Cafe

Came back to Bill's after another hike to Mission Peak. I have to say this place is baggin!! Easy 5 stars.
Service was top notch. The servers are superior are non stop hustlers. I would assume the cooks are the same. Because the quality and consistency of the food.
I ordered the chicken fried steak and biscuits and gravy. I'm a biscuits n gravy snob. I do love a cat head biscuit, these are not those. It was a flat biscuit. So at first I was a little disappointed. Until I took a bite. It was fluffy and and delicious. So good.
The chicken fried steak was crispy and tender. The gravy was amazing. Not the same'ol sausage gravy. This was different but not in a bad way. The best possible way. The hashbrowns DAMN!!!! Crispy outside tender inside. Eggs perfect. I literally have no complaints.
Get down here! NOW!!

*LOCATION*
This hidden gem of a cafe/diner is located in central Fremont near the hub. It's in a fairly small strip/plaza so finding a parking spot might be tough.

*WAIT TIME*
We visited this past Sunday for a late lunch ~1:15pm but it was still packed with people. There's an iPad at the front counter for the waitlist during peak hours but we luckily only had to wait a few minutes. We had the option to sit indoor or outdoor but chose to go inside since it was windy that day.

*FOOD*
-Denver omelette: surprisingly huge omelette with lots of fillings, crispy hash browns, generously buttered toast
-Nutella French toast: the Nutella filling was a tad too sweet imo, fresh sweet strawberries, light and airy whipped cream, whipped butter FTW
-Baileys latte: first few sips were great but then it progressively got too sweet (the mound of whipped cream didn't help LOL)
-Coffee: yay for free refills!

*SERVICE*
It was busy so the service was understandably slow. We had to wave and flag down the waiter several times to place our orders, request an extra plate, get the check, etc.

*AMBIENCE*
Great place for any breakfast/brunch cravings! There's a lot on the menu and it's hard to choose what to eat! I'll be back to try other options as well as the mimosa fishbowl :D

Not pictured was the strawberry oats pancake - this was so good it had a nice cinnamon flavor to it which elevated the pancakes! There were bits and pieces of oats throughout the pancake which was surprisingly delicious! It tasted on the healthier side which I doubt it was but made us feel better about ordering it LOL

If there's one thing you should try, it's 100% the tri-tip Benedict!! The waiter said it was very popular and I'm so glad I ordered it. The meat was nice and tender, not overly seasoned and matched perfectly with everything -I added tomatoes so more of a freshness feel since i thought it'd be heavy with the meat (def would recommend adding tomatoes to if you like it)

The portions are big so we both needed up taking half of our orders to go! Win-win! You get to eat it twice :)

So many choices to pick from and portions are quite large! We got the cowboy skillet and it was delicious, yum. Only improvement would be to have this dish served in a skillet instead of a bowl. The strawberry oats pancakes were cake-y and pillowy. These were some of the biggest pancakes I've ever ordered anywhere.

Service was fine. Perhaps we're not used to it but in the past, when we go to cafes where someone goes around carrying coffee and asking folks if they want coffee, typically the coffee is complimentary. This is our first time to Bill's Cafe so we don't know if the coffee was always an additional charge or maybe it's a change since our younger years at other cafes.

If you want to join the wait-list, go to Google. Apparently they don't use the yelp wait-list feature anymore, even though it looks functional.

The staple of Fremont. Bill's is the place if you want a great atmosphere and delicious food.

The food and service is top notch as us The service. Diego was amazing, courteous, punctual, and attentive.

Pancakes were fluffy? Smoked Salmon Benedict was the freaking bomb. And if you want a mimosa of all kinds, OMG, come here.

I will be back as often as I can.

We came for breakfast on a weekday and were seated immediately. Our waiter provided us with coffee and a menu promptly. Staff was friendly and refilled our coffee and drinks frequently without us asking.

I ordered the French Toast Combo which was delicious. The breakfast portions were big, we couldn't finish it and ended up taking our orders home.

I'll be back to try more breakfast meals.

I love the food here! The wait can be long but it is so worth it. The portions are huge and prices are good for the amount of food you get! Everything is delicious I ordered Huevos Rancheros, and this was the best I ever had! The flavor and sauce was amazing, and they have the best hash browns!
They have lots of good food items to choose from as well as good drinks to choose from. The service is soo fast! Once we put our order in the food came out quick! Our server was great always checking on us, and made sure to pick up our empty plates. Someone comes by with coffee and water and makes sure they're always full. They clean really fast to make sure they can seat the next person seated quickly.
We always have a good time here, I always leave satisfied!

Went to Bill's over the weekend, and was disappointed. The place was loud & crowded and we could barely hear our waitress, but she repeated back the order to confirm. Dad's omelet looked uncooked (liquid eggs) and they forgot the cheese in his build-your-own omelet. Our toast was white/un-toasted, and the hash-browns were like shredded boiled potato (no crisp/browning at all!). I usually enjoy my leftovers from here, but didn't bother taking them home today. We tried speaking to our waitress about it, she said he'd send over her supervisor, who after a long wait, comped $5 off our bill.

Will be going elsewhere for brunch next time.

It is so busy in here but I totally understand why! The service and food is amazing, I have no idea what we did to deserve the attention to detail from coffee refills - "have a safe drive home" during the mini storm we had. I got the tri tip Benedict and orange juice it was sooooo good. My mom got eggs bacon and hashbrown and got like five refills of coffee haha. The service was amazing, the servers are so attentive and I never had to lift a finger to get their attention. Plus they always asked if I needed water, boxes the check and etc. if you want to get treated like a princess and eat like a king you haaave to come here!
