I came here at night looking for Girls/Womens Soccer Cleats. It's sad that sports stores hardly have a selection for women. Anyways, I barely found this store because the exterior signs weren't lit. I'm not really used to shopping for sporting goods but I feel like this is equivalent to a "neighborhood walmart" meaning it's smaller and easier to get in/out.

We encountered an extremely helpful Kerri, warm, friendly smile and eager to help.
As mentioned, their selection for womens soccer cleats is disappointing, but we settled on some cute Nike's and ended up with a great deal thanks to Kerri's assistance.

Very happy with our purchase and appreciate the guidance we received at this location!

I got a pair of hiking boots on 12/25/22. On 4/27/23 ,I realized the toe area on BOTH boots had become detached from the sole. I visited the local Big5 ,boots in hand, Explained the situation. Was told, "Due to the time that had past (3mo, dead of winter) they couldn't do anything.
I'am 69yrs old ,I walked a mile a day in the boots, weather permitting. The boots spent more time in the closet than they did ON MY FEET! NEEDLESS to say, your consideration and return policies FKN SUCK! I won't be back and everyone I know, will be advised.

So my son had a football game today and the cleats that he received from AMAZON PRIME were too large so I was tasked to get him a better pair.
We walked into the store and headed to the back. The cleats were on display. We were drawn to a pair of NIKE TIEMPO cleats. They were size 6 which is what we needed and yes, they did fit like a glove. We reboxed them and headed up to the register. They weren't priced on the display so I was expecting them to cost $40-$50. Imagine my surprise when I was told $30. Amazing value--mind blown part 1---

Now let's get to part 2. After deciding on his cleats. I wondered over to the men's sneakers on the wall. I do not spend a lot on sneakers. I usually go to Famous Footwear and try to "Pop some tags" thrift store #Maclemore style and get some good deals. This works probably every 5th visit or so. There were some amazing prices and styles on display. Most were under $50 and not just in basic black like at FF. There was a cool pair of slip on house shoes for $21.99. Unfortunately I didn't have time to shop for myself but I will be back to buy a pair (or possibly 3) of new kicks for myself.

Employees were super nice, however they wouldn't let us use the bathroom! We had to leave the store to go to McDonalds then return to purchase our shoes and socks The reasoning given is that we don't let the public use the bathroom since Covid. This excuse doesn't apply anymore and it just seems like a poor excuse of providing this important necessity for their customers. I want to support stores however it just makes my sister and I want to just shop on Amazon and buy the exact same product their with free shipping. Please rethink your store policy of bathroom usage.

Wow...there are huge banners that say clearance. We saw no discounted merchandise. Then we stood, waiting to check out for about 6 to 7 minutes. So much so that my husband walked away to shop more. 4 employees were chatting. One appeared to be the manager. Wow.

I called the store to ask for a raft that was listed online to be available. Lady answered the phone and told me instantly that it was not available. (How did she know without looking?) I had my friend call back 3 minutes later and she actually went looking for it. Magically it was available. I am a female, he was a male. (If that makes a difference, i just wanted to state that fact)
She was very rude on the phone. Anyone that calls and asks for something to be available, make sure they actually go look for it.

I walked in the store at around 450 PM to find absolutely no employees in the entire store. I was shopping until 510 and still no employees. I basically just had to give up and leave as my options were to steal the items or be honest as no one was around to check out or assist any customers during my entire visit.

Not sure what is going on but probably not a great policy to leave a store completely unattended for 20 minutes that in addition to sporting goods is selling firearms, ammo, and knives...

This Big 5 in Hillsboro has to be the worst store ever. I am a us citizen hispanic woman wanted to buy a shotgun and was refused by Kyle (sales clerk) because he didn't think it was me.
I had my driver license ready to give him for the background check as I have purchased guns before in better places then Big 5.
I understand the routine and follow the rules in this country we are free to bear arms.
Had I been a 'White" person I am sure no questions were have been asked.

It was my fist time there, store was small but had the best prices and selection-totally impressed! After looking at Fred Meyer and Sports Authority for hiking boots (for my daughter) which were $40-50 minimum... Big 5 had some for $20!!!! I'm very pleased and will definitely return.
