That's a flat out lie!

I retained Shane Bernard, Stephen Bernards son who is the owner of the firm for my legal needs. Retainer has been collected and case was filed with Riverside Court House.
After wasted two years I get notified by opposing cousel that my attorney filed my case wrong and how I had no case at the time. I needed to re-file correctly or I'm losing statue of limitation.
Guess what, Shane didn't re-file, he just walked away from my case that he completely wasted but had audacity to collect a retainer and not consider reimbursing!
I lost my case and my retainer!

I was referred to Stephen and Shane Bernard by a mutual friend.

I was wrongfully arrested for possession and distribution of Marijuana. I had all the correct proof that allowed me the right to have to possess and transport but was still wrongfully taken into custody. My case was eventually dropped and my property was returned in full including the cash that was taken as well.

I was referred to Bernard &Bernard by a friend of mine. I was involved in an accident in which 2 vehicles crashed into into each other and then one of those cars crashed into my car as I was stopped at a red light. My car was totaled, I lost my job instantly (I was a Lyft driver) and I was moderately injured.
Shane Bernard took the case and seemed to work hard on it. Two months after the accident, he told me we were at the settlement stage and that the case would come to a successful end within 3 weeks. That was the last time I spoke to him. Because a week after our conversation I was told he was on sick leave and no longer reachable. My case was given to Steven Bernard to handle. Steven Bernard was much less optimistic than his son. He told me we were far from settling. And then after tackling it for 3 months, he quit. He officially told me he is resigning from representing & defending my case.
I was told I could come pick up my file anytime. A couple of weeks later I called to schedule a time to come in and pick up my file. They said yes it is ready. I took time off from work, borrowed a friend's car and started the drive from Hollywood to Westwood to pick up the file and then head to a meeting with a new attorney who needed that file. Well, 30 minutes before I was scheduled to pick up my files, Bernard & Bernard called to tell me the file is not ready for pick up! An it would only be ready in 4 days.
The whole experience with this firm was not pleasant, they gave me a lot of reasons not to trust their word, and they got nowhere with my case (in which I was obviously 100% innocent).
