      Im giving this a 1 because that's as low as they will let me rate them. If I could go lower, I would... for several reasons.
      1) they wouldn't reply to my emails or phone calls consistently or at all.. which isn't how you treat a potential buyer..
      2) (and this was the big one) I inquired about a vehicle that I found online, I called them and emailed them. I told them I was interested and I would be by in a few days to look at it... when they finally emailed me back, they were very short and didn't offer much information to my questions that I asked.. I told them I would be by on Saturday to look at it and test drive it (this was on Tuesday) but I asked them to let me know if it sells between now and then, and they ASSURED me that they would (because it was an almost 2 hour drive there) I contacted them the day before to confirm it was still there, they didn't call back or respond. I decided to take the long trip down there, and when I got there LOW AND BEHOLD they had sold the vehicle TWO DAYS before hand, and did NOT notify me like they assured me they would. They didn't even apologize for doing so, but instead tried selling me a vehicle that was over $7000 out of my price range.. (which, I feel like they didn't tell me the vehicle had sold on purpose, just to get me down there to try to sell me something more expensive) but since I had already taken the 2 hour drive, wasted $50 in gas and 1/2 of my day, I decided to look at their inventory anyways, and I found one that was only $1000 more than I was wanting to spend. So I test drove it, really liked it, did all kinds of paper work on it to see if they could offer me a better interest rate than my credit union had, they said they would call me on Monday after their mechanic when over it. They never called. I waited til Tuesday evening and I decided to call myself. No answer. I called again the next day, left multiple messages and emails over the course of the week, everything went unanswered. They finally emailed me back FOUR days later and said and I quote "sorry, we aren't able to help you" that was it. Ummm, I didn't NEED your help? I already had a bank check!!!!!!!!
      I was appalled that they ran their business and treated customers WITH BANK CHECK IN HAND this way.. I ended up saying screw them, and getting a different vehicle from their competitor, who treated me very well.
      I will NEVER recommend ANYONE to buy even a wheel barrow from Bensons Chevrolet. I had been shopping around for a vehicle for 4 months, dealt with dozens of salesmen and dealerships, and this place was by far the worst one.

      I had to help my co-worker get his vehicle to this place & watch the mess that followed.

      First of all. the place is a dump, but's that just an opinion.

      What is not my opinion is that he took it there for a problem, they told him what was "wrong," and then "fixed" it." I had to drive him back to get it & it was clearly not fixed. They said, "well, we need to re-troubleshoot the problem, which will be an additional estimate fee + parts & labor, plus you owe us $500.00 (for not fixing the problem). When he asked why, they said "well, we still put time & parts into it...

      I'll keep it simple. Does that sound ethical or honest to you???

      He told them he wasn't paying them & to get his keys. A big argument ensued & finally they gave the keys & we left, car unfixed.

      I asked about this place & was told three things.

      1 "The place is shady & super unfriendly."

      2 "The only reason GM didn't shut them down was nostalgia ( I guess they constantly repeat "we're the oldest dealer in NH)."

      3 "All the sales staff & workers went to school together & if you even try to apply at this inbred location, well, forget about getting hired."

      I went in to Benson Chevrolet to get a car inspection last Friday 6/2/2023. They failed my car with rusty brake rotors and dim headlights. They said they will fix the brakes for around $500.00 and the headlights for around $150.00 for a total of $650.00 or so. I was concerned because I had just replaced my brake rotors last year and my headlights passed in 2022.
      So after talking with my neighbor, I took my car to Greg's Auto Services in Rutland. They passed my car with all the problems that Benson said I needed to repair and I payed $60.00 for another inspection and I was on my way. I will never use Benson Chevrolet Dealership again. They ripped me off and now I think last year's inspection also when I paid $500 for new brake rotors that were probably good.

      The purpose of visiting Benson Chevrolet was that I was interested In a Chevy Trail boss. the website CLEARLY said the truck was certified. upon visiting the location which was NOT close i noticed that the sign on the truck said NOT certified. the reason why was because the tailgate had a few dents on it. during negotiation we were told that the truck would have to go through service to get certified. the negotiation process was very unprofessional. Mike was the typical car salesman. He didn't even have the common courtesy to tell me in person the final offer instead had his sales associate tell us. we finally came to an agreement that the truck would have new tires installed and that once the truck was deemed certified I would finalize the financing and get the truck. 2 days later I get a call saying the truck can't be certified. i then reach out to George and he said due to tailgate being damaged we can't certified even though they advertised on the internet it was. geogre agreed upon getting the tailgate fixed to get certified and I agreed to wait for fix. I then waited for weeks with no response. I kept getting the run around. I then get an email NOT a phone call telling me the tailgate was fixed and that they are relisting the truck at a higher listed price. conclusion to this situation. the sales people were very unprofessional, lied through the whole process. DO NOT buy a vehicle from this dealership.

      I called and made an appointment for my 2nd VT inspection, asked if I could wait, response was yes! I arrived on time, saw sign on counter stating inspection is $49. Sat in waiting room for an hour and a half, went in and asked how much longer (my first one took about 20 minute) and was told their machine was not functioning for a while and should be ready soon. After another half hour, it was ready. I was handed a bill for $87 which included a bulb for $3.43 plus labor. No one told me about the bulb or asked what I wanted to do about it, they just changed it and charged me. I was then told there was an extra charge for using my credit card. No one told me that before appt.. No one came out to tell me about the wait so I could go out for a walk or something...no respect! will not be back...

      Benson's are very friendly and seem easy to work with for car servicing, BUT they are not a reliable place to get your car inspection done! As a car dealer & parts/service vendor they identified excessive (false?) problems that were not verified by 2 independent repair shops. Instead of nearly $4,000 worth of repairs needed to pass inspection I really needed less that $400 to replace one piece of exhaust system. Sorry Bensons, we will not be back for future service or our next car.

      Many thanks to the good people at Bensons Chevrolet for helping me with a quick auto repair when I was in a fix! Some undercarriage paneling on my Camry had come loose during a bumpy drive over snow in Vermont - needed the repair before driving back to Boston - and the service department took us on short notice and did the repair in about half an hour and for a very reasonable fee. Really appreciate the prompt, courteous service.

      Absolute great dealership! Our family has done business with them for almost 50 years through 2 generations. From sales to service and everywhere in between they are the best and will always have my business of personal vehicles and fleet trucks.

      I pulled in late after a 4 hour drive to Okemo MT with my family in tow and a scary oil pressure light flashing for the last 30 miles. George and Steve the Svc mgr told me not to worry they will take care of it. Oh, and the next day was Christmas. None the less day after Christmas Steve fixed the problem and we drove home with no worries. Great customer service!!
