Dinner Review:
My friends and I came to Beijing Chinese Dining around 6:45pm on a weekday and were seated promptly. The dishes we ordered were quite good. we had Beijing Dumplings, Beijing Beef, Eggplant, Veggie Delight, Water cooked Fish and scallion pancakes. The dishes weren't too heavy and the food was cooked well and arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Service was a bit slow and the wait staff had to be reminded a couple times to have utensils and tea. Overall, the food was good, the service was questionable and the prices were reasonable. I'd most likely come back again.
Protip: Beijing is located on the 2nd floor and I am unsure if there is an elevator in the front entrance. Restaurant was very clean.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Hungrytommy ..Boston, MA8126397Jan 31, 20241 check-in
If there were half stars, I'd probably give a 3.5, but I'm rounding up to 4 because I would go back for sure.
I started with a mai tai which was just ok. They don't have a lot of tiki cocktails on the menu but maybe they can make the basics. I'll try something else next time.
For an appetizer we got crab Rangoon. It was minimally stuffed and not very good. It should be avoided.
Dinner was much better. The half peking duck was good. The meat was excellent and the veggies were fresh, though the pancakes were more like a tortilla than a traditional peking pancake.
The spicy sautéed cabbage was amazing. I highly recommend the cabbage, particularly with the duck.
The service was efficient even though the dining room was pretty crowded. The atmosphere is nice, above average for a traditional Chinese restaurant.
Bottom line: I'm looking for a Chinese restaurant near by to be my go to. I'm not sure this is it, but I would go back again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 22, 2023
Dining experience has declined over the years. Service & food is not as good. 1 person was seating, serving and taking care of checks during an early afternoon mid-week. That made for longer wait times. Interior was clean and comfortable. Food was subpar. Fried rice was not as expected. It was white rice with minimal amount of vegetables a ordering white rice which comes without vegetables. No, it's not actual fried and dark in color. The complimentary soup was extremely thick & sticky. Not the usual broth. It was such an odd consistency, it was close to Nickelodeon's slime. (Sad to say).

With the hope of finding a few authentic Chinese dishes in this restaurant, it turned out to be a little disappointed. We ordered jellyfish with cucumber (good), Chinese spaetzle and egg drop soup (ok), shrimp stuff eggplant in black sauce (ok), sauteed sea conch with mixed vegetables (ok), salt & pepper small smelt (good but not crispy enough), and pot-roast pork with scallion pancake platter (ok). The service was good and the place is big and clean.

Decided to pop in while exploring Lexington Center, and I'm so glad I did! I really enjoyed my meal here but will say it was a bit on the pricer end for what you get. The waitress was very nice, and the restaurant was very clean. I will be back!

One of the most impressive and delicious Chinese restaurants I encountered (in the US) was not in any metropolitan city Chinatown but here where the birthplace of our country all began: between the towns of Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts!
Stopped by here coming back from a lovely excursion to Walden Pond on a misty October afternoon. We were a tad peckish having spent hours walking around the pond, exploring the autumn-colored woods, and viewing the exhibits at the Thoreau visitor center. As such, we found parking close by to this restaurant near Lexington and decided to see how the cuisine compared to our own Chinatown. We were amazed.
Scottish novelist Mary Stewart once quipped: "Hunger is the best sauce"... she was right. At least it was hard to tell if being wet, cold, but reinvigorated by the unsurpassed beauty of Walden played a role in our assessment but we certainly ordered more than we could handle at one sitting! The food was amazing!
The eggplant and wood ear fungus was superb.
The spicy chicken shezchuan was hot both ways! (The way we like it but rarely encountered)
The shrimp stuffed eggplant was innovative and scrumptious.
Would definitely return to sample more of their menu on our next trip to Walden.

Been here multiple times through out the years, but this Friday I had the worst experience every. Went during lunch time and the restaurant was not busy at all. Indeed, my party was the first costumer for them of the day. The waiter who served us was absolutely rude and disrespectful. Barely served at all except with zero positivity to come ask what we want to get. After the dishes came, he never came back to check. But the worst part is just about to come, when we are ready to get the bill, there was no option to select the tip (which they use to have like a month or two ago). Instead the bill says 20%tip already attached. This policy in my opinion made this visit a solid 0. I definitely will tip high is the service was good, but that was not the scenari. So absolute the most horrible experience ever!

Bad delivery experience.
My daughter ordered chicken lo mein through Door Dash. They delivered chicken fried rice - not interested. I called the restaurant. They acknowledged that it was their mistake and told us it would be delivered "shortly". It never came.
So they made a mistake, I gave them a chance to fix it, and they couldn't pull that off.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Augustus Z.Natick, MA52273Jul 24, 2022
Overall 5 Stars! Good food, nice service, beautiful patio, easy parking... at the heart of Lexington! I will definitely go back again and again.
Food: 4 stars. I had higher expectations before going. I moved from Beijing to New England 11 years ago. And the authentic Beijing style restaurant is a thing I've been seeking for years in Boston area. Well it's hard to get it right in New England, as there aren't many good Beijing chiefs around. But the food is delicious! So minus one start as it's not very authentic Beijing menu, but they did their best already and I should say they are one of the best in the area.
You should try their recommended items and you may discover your own favorite dishes. I personally will recommend their dumplings, green onion pancakes, and their vegetable dishes.
Environment: 5 starts. Clean, cozy, and welcoming. The dining environment can be on textbooks as a good example. Plus their patio is right there at the heart of Lexington. I will definitely try the patio option next time. It's beautiful!
Service: 5+ stars. Amazing service was provided by everyone from the waiters to the manager. I can imagine that we were that kind of tough table because we had 9 adults and 3 little kids who would need high chairs. You know what? They handled everything well and provided extremely professional and friendly service. Good job!
Misc.: Parking is really easy, the parking lot is right next to the restaurant. And, they have a interesting drink menu, which I will definitely take a closer look next time.
Yep, I will go there again, sit in the patio area, and order some good drinks to go with my dumplings!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Abby L.Lexington, MA0674Mar 7, 2023
