Family vacation, me, my wife and daughter who recently graduated.
We had the good fortune of good weather and a table on the back deck.
Waitress was very quick to the table, got our drink orders and gave us a few minutes to go over the menu.
I ordered the Bacon Cheese Burger. It was great, with the exception of the tomato being a bit no the green side. Other than that, it was quite good. The Garlic mashed potatoes were the side. Those were REALLY good!
My wife had the Greek Salad but added chicken. Mixed greens, feta, marinated cucumbers, red onion, artichoke hearts, and roasted vegetables. Her comment was "lots of food here!" Real good.
My daughter had a simple cheeseburger.
Other than getting mugged by some flying insect (just me, but if you seem to draw insects, maybe the back deck isn't the place for you) The view was very nice, not noisy, but you could here the sounds of the marketplace. So, there was some good energy there.
Definitely worth a return trip next time to SanDestin or Destin.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brianna B.Nashville, TN226158390Apr 24, 2019
I really enjoyed my meal here!
I got blackened shrimp with smoked gouda grits and sesame green beans. The shrimp was amazing! I wasn't able to finish it all but it was cooked perfectly - exactly what I think of when I'm wanting blackened shrimp!
And don't get me started on the grits. I was on the fence between the grits and the sweet potato fries and the waiter told me to get the grits. Definitely order these when you're here because they are incredible and we're definitely the highlight of my meal! My husband got a burger. He said it was good but not the best he's had.
The inside is also really simple but cute-I loved it! There's an outdoor area overlooking the bay that I would've loved to check it but it was a bit chilly. They also have a mini supermarket attached to the restaurant. We didn't get a chance to check it out though.
Last but not least, the service was also great! Our waiter was attentive and kind and provided great recommendations!
I'd definitely love to go back during our next trip to Sandestin!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jill C.New Orleans, LA73178915May 3, 2019
Wanted a small snack and a beer while I enjoyed the view. It was a beautiful night.
Saw the patio/porch at Baytowne Provisions over looking the marina and knew it was the perfect place.
I love cracklings and yes they have them on the appetizer menu. So I jumped on them. Amazing. Comes with enough to feed the entire family and 4, yes 4, dipping sauces. I ate so many had no room for dinner! The only comment is that I really didn't know what the sauces were. They weren't labeled and the wait staff didn't give me a heads up. So I just had to experiment and try them all to find out if I liked them or not. I wasn't disappointed. I like them all. Even drew the attention of neighboring tables. Had a fellow diner come over to see what I was eating. If you go there and don't order you are missing out!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - David F.Alamogordo, NM1982May 21, 2019
Bottom line up front - great atmosphere, great service, good food. 10/10 would recommend for families.
We arrived (party of 4: 2 adults and 2 kids under 5) at about 6:45pm and the place was very empty. The hostess was very pleasant and the atmosphere was very nice and clean. Almost immediately after sitting down our waiter had water on the table and asked for additional drink orders. My wife ordered a "get smashed" off the drink menu and really liked it.
Food came out approximately 10 min after we ordered. The food was well prepared and presented for a nice family friendly restaurant. I ordered a burger which was made really well I give it an 8/10. My wife ordered a grilled chicken sandwich that she loved and gave it a 10/10.
Overall the service was great, the drinks were good, and the food was very good.
I will be coming back here in the future visits to the Baytowne Warf at Sandestin.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shelby L.Birmingham, AL346222644Jan 2, 2019
I had high hopes! My bf and I were wondering around looking for somewhere to eat and this piqued our interest. We ordered the cheese curds. These were pretty good. They had the batter you would fry shrimp in.
I ordered the cáprese salad. I didn't think anything of it until I got it. It had green tomatoes and a red one with the cheese on top. The red tomato was great and I had never had green tomatoes so I was excited. I bit into one and.... realized it wasn't ripe. It was so difficult to cut and was disgusting to eat. So I only at the one since the other two were inedible. We will probably not be back.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jaccard W.West Chester Township, OH2363744313Oct 16, 2018
Visited Provisions on my first night at the Baytowne Warf. As usual, I was excited to order an Oyster Po'Boy so it didn't take but a glance at the menu before I was ready to order. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and to be honest, was probably the fastest moving restaurant on resort. I just thought this was a local seafood shop but it wasn't until my food game out and I tasted the well-seasoned collard greens that I realized that this was a creole restaurant.
Goods:
The collard greens!
The fried oysters
The table condiments. If you appreciate Geaux Jus, they got it.
Limited but good draft beer selection.
No my favs:
The toasted bread for po'boy. The bread to Oyster ratio was off.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Michelle Q.New Orleans, LA3463522042Jun 13, 2018
The food was amazing! From seafood to burgers. They nailed it.
We had the ahi tuna appetizer which was six perfect pieces of tuna. The sauce was so tasty. It was just the right kick of wasabi.
The fried crab claws were fried just right.
The caprese salad was impeccable. The buffalo mozzarella = amazing. I Loved the way this dish was prepared and it tasted so good. I wanted more.
My seafood platter rocked. I loved it all. It came with blackened shrimp, mahi mahi, fried oysters, cocktail sauce, tartar sauce and two sides. For my two sides, I chose the Gouda grits and collard greens.
The collard greens have a kick to them. I was told that the chef makes his own Tabasco sauce. Very yummy!
The grits are to die for.
I didn't have room for dessert!! Definitely next time.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Michele C.New Orleans, LA80242257Jun 6, 2018
This place bills itself as a provisions market with food. Tucked away in the middle of the Baytown Wharf area it is unassuming from the outside. The left side of the building is a small convenience store and the right side is a full restaurant featuring a bar, outdoor dining deck in the back and a lounge upstairs!
My husband had been here on Sunday to grab a turkey sandwich. It was a solid sandwich with fries that fed two of us. While he was waiting for the sandwich he noticed everything else coming out of the kitchen. Last night he suggested we return for dinner.
We starred with the lobster nachos - six small nachos featuring guacamole, lobster meat and a jalapeño slice sprinkled with cohija cheese. Very good - but a little pricey at $20.
Crab claws - fried - ok- but not great - great cocktail sauce. Good portion for the $9 price.
My entree was a red snapper with pesto and a small crab cake that came with two side items. I chose collard greens and grits. Everything was excellent! $26
My husband ordered the shrimp and grits - it too was excellent. $21
The bar is well stocked and features an array of hard liquor, beer, wine, and some house cocktails.
We sat outside on the back deck overlooking the bay. Service was good and attentive but not crazy. We would recommend for location, price and food.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 1, 2018
First time in the Destin/Sandestin area. Our hotel was next to Baytowne so we decided to have breakfast at Baytowne Provisions on New Years Day. It was freezing cold outside and the town area was mostly empty.
We ordered the biscuits and gravy, the French toast, and the breakfast platter. The food was better than I had expected. The gravy had tons of sausage and wasn't too thick. Similarly, the French toast was light and fluffy rather than loaded down with batter (though warm syrup might be better than cold syrup). The breakfast platter was pretty straightforward. There was only one other table seated when we arrived but 4-5 tables were seated during the time we ate our breakfast.
Only one server for the entire room but she was friendly and did a great job. We will definitely come back the next time we're in the area.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ryan S.Stuart, FL55419Nov 2, 2019
The sign on the door said closed for season. Wasn't open. No answer on phone.
I can't really say much more but yelp wants me to write a lot to consider this a review.
So if you're looking for seafood, you can't come here. At least right now. Maybe next year.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
