Bay Piano Tuner

I was very impressed and pleased with Charles and his thoroughness with not one but two pianos. The second was a Parlor Grand that had not been played or serviced for decades and required a sensitive touch which he was able to provide. The musicians in my family were very excited about this new addition to our piano family.

If you're looking for a piano tuner who is extremely knowledgeable, responsive and professional, Chaz is your guy! He did a fantastic job at tuning my old piano plus fixing a lot of sticking keys which were not so responsive anymore. He is so tenacious at solving problems, trying different ways to fix issues until we got the best results. After tuning and fixing, my piano sounds like a real gem, I highly recommend Chaz to anyone in the bay area who wants to entrust their piano with someone who really knows the ins and outs of this instrument and will respond to all your needs very promptly.

Chaz was fantastic! He was responsive to text regarding scheduling and was prompt to the arranged time, even calling to let me know he was on his way. He explained everything he was doing and even repaired a broken string on the fly, and you can't even tell it had been replaced as it matched the existing strings perfectly. He adjusted the hammer on a second broken string and got it aligned well enough that for our purposes we don't need to replace it. He then took his time tuning, and the piano sounds fantastic. He gave honest answers about the maintenance required and the issues unique to our piano. Highly recommended!

We were extremely pleased with Chaz's work. His knowledge and experience is very present in his work. His little inventions/modifications to tools and techniques while tuning are efficient and effective. He was also willing to explain in depth the process of his tuning.

Chaz was also very professional. He gave us a courtesy call before coming over. He was clean and tidy and was very careful while removing and installing the panels. We also had a wonderful conversation with him during and after wards about his earlier career as a piano rebuilder. Overall, we would highly recommend Chaz for anyone's piano voicing and tuning needs!

Chaz spent two hours on the piano tuning and did a very good job for me. He also explained to me patiently what the problem was and how he would do it. I am satisfied with his work.

Extremely good communication & availability, good price, got the piano in perfect shape on short notice for a recital. Didn't meet in person as I was running errands and had a roommate let him in, but that just speaks to his trust factor. Thanks!

Wow!!! Chaz was amazing. My piano is over 100 years old and family heirloom. It has been out of tune for years. I put off getting it tuned because I was afraid the condition of the piano was so poor, I would get news I didn't want to hear. Chaz came to my home the same week I called, on a Sunday. He spent several hours meticulously working on every key. He thoroughly explained what he was doing and why, given the age of the piece. I have hired other tuners, but he is truly heads and shoulders above the rest in his knowledge of his craft.

Very satisfied with Chaz's work in every way. After buying a used baby grand from a neighbor moving away, I did a quick search for tuners. Chaz got back to me most promptly and professionally. He spent over two hours getting everything just right. He definitely appears to know what he's doing. Price seemed very reasonable especially considering the effort and expertise he put into it.
