Worst experience since I'm here for around 2 hrs, specially last week and today. They everytime are out of stock on important medication. They have me running today waiting for an authorization sent over 1 week from the doctor. The patient is a delicate health with diabetes type 2, a lot of complications and kidney disease stage 3. She's needing her insulin and as they say they are out of stock for over 2 weeks and bow they are asking for a reauthorization sent by the doctor on the 12th. At this time I came.out of the place without the insulin and will.be without medication for a couple days until a miracle happens. That's is without mention that this patient is using the lantus solostar for over 10yrs. Will be lllooking for another place I don't want to hear anything about Bartell anymore.

The pharmacy staff are courteous as they have been in the past. There seems to be some stable staffing they haven't had until recently, although I know they are affected by a shortage of pharmacists and technicians like everywhere. There also is consistency which was lacking before, which is no small feat. I say this because the staff have to make do despite coping with the resources of a company that reinvests nothing, loses hundreds of millions of dollars on operations each quarter and blames their woes on staffing. With all that said, the pharmacy at the Greenlake location is in much better shape thanks to the staff, not Rite Aid. If anyone is curious about Rite Aid's precarious situation, go to the SEC EDGAR database and type in "RAD" for ticker and open any recent disclosure. Or just search on Google news to see a litany of problems. Thanks again to the Greenlake staff!

Nov 1, 2022Previous reviewPart 2 of my review left 8 months prior to this. I was not able to reach Ashley H. but upper management probably blamed the store pharmacy manager as I did receive a phone call from him. We spoke at length and for over 6 months, I reliably received auto refills (otherwise it's no refills oddly for some non controlled prescriptions ready for refills you cannot refill from the app, if you want to fill or pick up at another store, only legacy Rite Aid stores are integrated with the app, a Bartells store requires a phone call, inevitably this store frequently does NOT answer the phone and this is not the fault of your pharmacy manager and his lack of staffing). Regarding the refills, after 6 months without issues having to take many medications every day, the system has broken down once again. As the patient, I am now managing the pharmacy - making sure all medications are sent for refill in advance, having to explain myself every month I can't run out because I have resumed business travel (the store generally processes refills well after insurance pays), having my physician send in early prescriptions which should only require a simple refill since one medication is never in stock and must be ordered (even though they had kept it stock on hand since I fill every month until recently). If I submit a refill it will not get processed on time. On top of this, I have had to refill at Rite Aid locations on the east coast on various occasions due to business trips. On other occasions, I'll find that one prescription of many was not filled and I'll have to go to the Queen Anne store late at night. I wish I could say it was just a matter of a couple of drugs but they are critical and I live upstairs and am car free. Also, my impression of the new Bartells and Rite Aid has evolved. New Bartells is still objectively terrible relative old Bartells but I have discovered at Rite Aid, the experience is wildly inconsistent. The same seems to be growing at Bartells - 6 months without issues, and then back to dysfunction, all while experiencing excellent service at other stores, including Rite Aid stores picking up their slack. I reiterate this is a systematic issue so don't blame your pharmacy manager and don't bother having him call. I'm in the pharmacy or on the phone frequently. I can't imagine how your vulnerable and elderly patients with chronic illnesses could manage their medications at the new Bartells. You can't even select a Bartells store from your app for refills or reliably get someone to answer the phone.
Mar 6, 2022Previous reviewLike others, I also feel sorry for the employees since Rite Aide took over. The pharmacy is too overworked to answer the phone or even stock shelves. Without fail, the pharmacist or technician will have to dig my critically needed medication out of a recently received shipment. They do this typically with a defeated look on their face less than an hour before closing. You had better be a well informed, savvy patient to fill anything critical here. I happen to work in Supply Chain in the pharmaceutical industry. I have to personally ensure certain meds are ordered ahead of time or I will be at zero. I wonder how elderly patients even manage. Long gone is the community pharmacy formerly known as Bartell Drugs, where the staff was resourced, fast and knew your name (like Terry or Davin). It's too bad they were chased away. Every month, I wonder if I will miss a day or two days of medication, which would be catastrophic. The pharmacy is so under stocked and understaffed, they can never give you much of a buffer - just in time, down to the day. The only reason I haven't changed to another chain is I live upstairs. AVOID!

This Bartell is mostly useless -- lots of stuff is missing on the shelves (like packing tape) but you do find a lot of useless junk and canned food you'd never buy in a conventional grocery store (sad they stopped stocking Tillamook ice cream).
The location is very good though to get medications and shots (pre Rite Aid acquisition). They always have greeting cards in stock too lolHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

A great location, with free, 90-minute underground parking, this Bartell's is easily accessed from Greenlake.
Need a flu shot before or after your walk with a friend? Done.
Need a quick snack before a coffee date? Done.
Forgot your chapstick? Done.
Need a touch-up on your make-up? Done.
Socks suddenly torn and in need of a new, quirky pair? Done.
Clean and full, the space offers a little of everything you might need to stock up on or grab on the run.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - E C.Anaheim, CA02246Dec 11, 2020
Lorna should be given the Bartell's gold medal for customer service and for her COVID-19 compliance - I usually seek her out as a frequent customer when I am in Seattle for work.
She doesn't seem to fit into the rest of the lackluster and lazy staff. She's not only helpful, BUT SHE WEARS HER MASK! She always stops to answer my questions, shows me where something is, or helps to make a suggestion. I have also heard her remind customers and staff to wear their masks. She will always ring me up when everyone else seems to disappear.
I won't approach the rest of the staff - Sami (?) Is often in the store instead of Lorna, so I wait and come back later- she gives zero customer service, is always talking to co- workers, and walks away when approached - I purposely avoid her because she is always rude, seems put out, and does not wear her mask correctly, usually under her nose or not at all.
I live in a state where customers CANNOT ENTER a store without a mask and businesses are fined if employees are not masked up - because I stay in an AirBNB over the store, I prefer to keep my shopping to 1 place - on this trip I noticed a very lax attitude towards masks and distancing with both staff and customers in the store, but was happy to see Lorna fully masked and social distancing, hard at work stocking the store.
I really want to thank Lorna for her great service and hope Bartell's loses some of the lazy, irresponsible staff at this location when Rite Aid takes over. These are scary times - Bartell's in Greenlake is a GREAT convenience - and Lorna is the best!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Scott B.Seattle, WA324Dec 17, 2021
I feel sorry for the staff here. They are doing their best but since Rite-Aid took over they are perpetually short staffed. Reaching the pharmacy by phone is impossible and their hours are unpredictable. This was my favorite pharmacy ever, I miss Terry and the others. A real loss.

I have been a customer of the pharmacy at the Roosevelt Bartell's for 20+ years. Since Rite-Aid took over, customer service is abysmal. The automated phone refill service will state that your refill will be ready the next day after 10 am, but a visit to the pharmacy 4 or 5 days later results in "we haven't started on that order yet and we don't have all the medication you need to fill your prescription". The reason for delays has been the same for months - "We are really busy". As you can see from this site, promises of better service have been made since 2021. Unfortunately, the only other local pharmacy is the Rite-Aid in Wedgwood.

For many years this place was absolutely fantastic. This was our go to pharmacy, Terry the pharmacist especially was quick, efficient, took the time to know the family and our needs. Unfortunately the past few months, I've noticed the quality of customer care has been horrible.
There is like a 10 percent chance of the pharmacist answering the phone. You have to keep calling in hopes they'll finally answer and when they do, they're not welcoming or efficient.
After months of exceptionally awful service, I've now realized it's because Rite Aid bought Bartells. At the pharmacy today there was a large line, so many frustrated customers to the point of yelling and swearing at this awful service and what it has become. A customer even said, it's taken 3 days to get their prescription.
Originally my prescription I was told wouldn't be ready till the next day, which was not option because it was urgent. And when I received my prescription after hours of waiting, it was not prepared properly. Having to drive all the way back to the pharmacy to get it prepared properly.
Rite Aid has turned what was once a fantastic and welcoming pharmacy to absolute trash service. They somehow gotten rid of the exceptional staff that was once there, only to replace them with disorganized, unprofessional and understaffed individuals. This is not a place to pick up your prescription. I've never been to a pharmacy where the pharmacist hands you medication improperly prepared after an hour and a half of standing there. Begging the question, what were they doing for 1.5 hours they kept telling me they were preparing it. Horrible communication. Do not go here. I will now be looking for a new pharmacy.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
