Barry’s Cheesesteaks And More

My co-workers and I eat at Barry's all the time. It's the best Philly in Louisville IMO! Barry has been in there a few times and is always upbeat and super nice. Grubhub had a special yesterday so I ordered Barry's and the Grubhub driver brought only the fries and no sandwich. It was a little shady because the drive barely knocked on my door and I when I went to get my food I could see him running to his car. I normally order from doordash and have never had this problem (at least not from Barry's). I sent a message through their Facebook page and Barry personally called my cell phone and offered to deliver the sandwich himself. Since I'm running around today I'm going to pick it up, but wanted to post this because he really does care about his customers. He's got a lifelong customer in me and the rest of my office!

Heard of this place and drove here when I was in the area. However, it's moved to old Louisville. I'll have to go next time I'm down that way. Please do not go to the fern valley/Preston Highway address as it is closed.

The last time we ate here was when they were on Preston. The food was really good! It was awkward at first beings they just opened and didnt have everything down yet, so ordering was a little confusing. We ordered the star sandwich the 'Cheesesteak'. We also ordered the fries and a drink. The sandwich was very good! Lots of steak, cheese on super soft bread. The french fries were good also, I like a skinnier french fry though. I havent been to the new location yet, but we soon will venture that way soon!

In this COVID-19 environment everything is different, and a little more difficult for the businesses. Barry's is doing it right. Fast, friendly service that allows you to get your food without leaving your vehicle. And the food is outstanding. I had the Big Barry, and it is huge! Packed with meats and cheeses - plurals - it is more than a meal! I made it two meals and it was more than enough and great even being reheated. Their fries, even with the curbside service were hot and seasoned in a way that made them irresistible even after I'd eaten too much!

Lots of parking in the back - and you have to go there to get your food right now.

After living in Old Louisville for three years, I finally stopped in. Barry's does not disappoint. The regular cheesesteak is huge and plenty filling for even a big appetite. The B-Rite seasoned fries were also good. The seasoning is a bit on the sweet side (vs a more salty seasoned fry). This isn't necessarily my favorite, but they were quite good.

Regarding the comments on service, while I wouldn't necessarily say the team was overenthusiastic, the recent comments don't match my experience at all. The cashier was friendly and efficient, and the food was served up in under five minutes. I know from word of mouth that Barry works hard, and this food is great.

If you're looking for an authentic Philly Cheesesteak Barry's is your place. I have friends from Philly and they love Barry's because it reminds them of what they used to get at home. I have been to Barry's a few times and I must say I'm a fan. The bread, which Barry tells me he brings in from Philadelphia is soft yet sturdy and soaks up all of the juices and flavors from the meat. I can't recall ever having bread quite like it around here before. The steak is also well seasoned and juicy and the cheese is creamy and plentiful. I like that you can have the option of getting a few different toppings if you want. I like the mushrooms, onions and hot peppers personally. I know that sometimes the hours and service has been a little unpredictable but the food it truly delicious and worth the wait.

We came in on a busy Friday night, service was still super fast and friendly. the food was amazing, generous portions, all fresh, and delicious.

Absolutely amazing! The hole in the wall always serves up amazing food and Barry's is no different.

I rarely order a cheesesteak because, generally, they aren't very good. For years, I've heard Barry's are amazing so the first opportunity I had to try the new location on 2nd street, I jumped at my chance.

The location isn't much to look at. No fancy frills here, but you come to eat not be boujie. The menu is simple, yet complex. We ordered 3 cheesesteaks frows and chili. The cheesesteaks were amazing! The bread was the perfect mixture of crispy and soft to hold all of the juices from the tender meat.

The ratio of meat to cheese to veggies was perfect. The sandwich was enormous. So big that I only tasted the chili.

Speaking of the chili, YUCK! The only thing I didnt like about the place. It was a sweet chili and I couldn't handle the sweetness. The fries were good though.

I'll be back to Barry's next time I'm in the area. It's some good food.

After seeing countless mentions of the Louisville Foodies fb group I finally got a chance to try Barry's through a food delivery service. My goodness this sandwich is MASSIVE. I got multiple meals out of it and still had some to share. I found everything well seasoned and tasty. I'm super sad the restaurant forgot my fries since I've read a ton of positive reviews. I look forward to trying them on my next order, which I'm sure will be soon!

Best cheesesteaks in town hands down! We have ordered Barry's several times during COVID-19 and they have been doing a great job handling their high volume of customers. Their cheesesteaks and french fries are delicious and the bread they use is SO good. SO much food for such great prices that you really can't beat.
I can't recommend this place enough if you're in the mood for a good cheesesteak. They are also great with their pick-up service and bring everything out to your car. 10/10 would recommend!
