One of the benefits of being in a car club is that we find those less-travelled backroads that are only found in small cities. On one of our excursions we found the Barrow House. We decided to stop by and look at the place. We really liked the place and made plans to come back.
Fast forward about 5 wks after that initial finding and a small group of us are headed back out to the B&B. Some stayed at the Barrow House itself while me and a friend stayed across the street at Printer's House. We had a private bath and parlor. Also had a kitchen that was available to us.
The Barrow House was the most comfortable and enjoyable bed and breakfast experience that I have had in recent years. The rooms are very large and clean. It has the cozy feeling of staying in someone's home but guests also have complete privacy.
Shirley and Chris are wonderful and really know how to run a B&B (which isn't easy).
St Francisville is one of the most charming cities in Louisiana. The Barrow House is a great asset to this unique city.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Candy E.New Orleans, LA791Jul 24, 2016
The porch was a godsend and my friend and I had a wonderful time rocking away into the wee hours, catching up after years of not seeing each other. This was the perfect setting for a reunion! The breakfast was great and Ms. Shirley was generous with information about the place--she was a true delight, as was the location and the room (we were in the Victorian Room in the Printers House--and what a history it has!). The street was quiet and wonderful, and it's a great place to stroll into town from.
Great time with great people--I can't wait to take my mom here, she'll love it!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - T W.Kenner, LA2624Jul 1, 2015
Very nice. Very homey. Great host. Beautiful town. This is a very good location. Nice front porch with rockers. The breakfast was delicious. Only thing I would suggest requesting a room with a claw foot tub. The shower in the Victorian suite was really small.
