The pool looked so inviting last summer it convinced me to join on a monthly basis. Well, my first intuition proved my thought correct - the pool is wonderful. Even in the heat of the summer months it is rarely crowded. They keep it clean and well maintained.
Sad I can't say that for the rest of this facility. After another bout with the toilet tissue in the men's room, I stopped by the office to talk to the manager. After several minutes of three guys looking at each other, the largest of them finally identified himself as the "manager". i asked him to look into keeping the men's locker a room a bit cleaner - since I and several other guys had nearly slipped and fallen on the floor - he said he would. I also asked him to stock some tissue in the restroom with something more closely resembling a paper suited to its purpose. He said he would look into it.
After a couple of times of running into him in the gym, I asked how he was doing. No response to any inquiry was forthcoming. Finally, he started walking the other way whenever our paths crossed.
One day - the last time I stepped foot in the place - an attendant told me my payment needed to be made before I could enter again. After I explained to her that I had authorized auto-deduction for this when I signed up, she gave me a card with phone number to call "customer service". Well, after several attempts to reach them, both over the phone and internet, I got a prompt that told me there would be a charge for talking to a real person. By this point I figured WTF, and authorized the charge. The real person at the other end of the line told me my account number was invalid, that was why they told me at the club to make a payment before I could enter again. After emailing her a copy of my recent credit card statement that reflected the latest charge, she explained to me that I and my bank must be mistaken!
Two weeks ago I got a letter from "customer service" advising me that the charge they had made to my account for talking with someone would be waived.
Not only have I not returned, I do not plan to do so. What a mess of a way to run a company!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Gonzalez P.Highland, CA10514348Nov 8, 2011
This Place is ridiculous , My boyfriend and i went in to get a memebership, and we obviously had to leave money on credit card, & I dont go so i called and asked how would i go about canelling and they gave me a number, I called and in order to cancel i had to send a letter , OMG i was so upset. Its ridiculous. So by the time they get the letter and i get it then it would be canceled. So i was still going to be getting charged. I will never go back.

Lots of machines. There is an out door pool. The location is safe. The staff has always been friendly and helpful to me. I go during the day and have never had to wait for a cardio machine. You pay bi weekly and they have specials all the time.

I really disagree with many of these negative reviews. This Ballys location is definitely small, but it has everything you need, including two squat racks, tons of free weights, an entire floor full of cardio equipment, and really nice trainers/management. Granted, the place is a little worn, and sometimes the bathrooms aren't as clean as you'd like, but I really have no big complaints. Not to mention, it's absolutely the cheapest deal around, and it's in a really convenient, safe location.

This is my first review so be kind. I just started this club a week ago and even though it is small I like it enough to continue going until I'm in good shape. I noticed a lot of overweight and older people here and they seem to be the majority. Not a lot of hard bodies so at least I don't feel embarrassed about my shape. I'm not fat or anything just not in great shape yet but this was the closest to my home. I wanted someplace I would feel comfortable to start out with and then move one. I heard the 24 Hour Fitness in Fontana is awesome but I don't think I'm ready for that yet. I always get a good workout here and the machines are always available although some need service and repair. I notice a cleaning lady always there so I know they at least try to keep it clean. The lockers are spacious and not shoe boxes like Riverside. The pool is outside and I haven't tried it yet. People there aren't flirts or talkative as they seem more focused on the workout which is fine for me. Overall it's somewhat clean and small. Good for a beginner but hopefully I would be able to move on to something bigger in a couple of months.
