Ballard Brothers Seafood and Burgers, a local Ballard fast food joint, is home to the award winning Cajun Blackened wild Salmon sandwich described by the New York Times as "Moist yet crispy, rich with salmon flavor but also spicy, and herbaceous in a way that made me wonder if this delight was even legal." Here at Ballard Brothers we showcase a mastery of Cajun cooking in a menu filled with fresh seafood fillets and local, organic grass fed steak burgers made in house. Our meals have been a staple of Seattle festivals since 1987, gracing the streets with golden fried cod and flame-broiled burgers topped with homemade tartar and Cajun sauce, bacon & blue cheese, or Hawaiian sauce with pineapples. Diners can enjoy draft pints, wine or spirits in a casual family style dining room alongside baskets of fried scallops or oysters on luscious beds of fries. Our seafood is wild and sustainable, and everything we serve is packaged with biodegradable materials and cutlery to protect the environment. We take pride in our food making everything fresh daily. Our motto is keep it simple, use high quality products, don't over season and let the food stand by itself. www.ballardbrothers.com.

Smartly Run Establishment. You will have a good meal for a equally good price. If some libations fits into your plans, they have this too. Customer Service is also elevated to uncommon levels in the quick serve industry. Because it is good, I am very much repeat customer. And I can say, that there is the infrequent aberration in service or preparation. But because the large menu selection is individually cooked and not assembled, not everything comes out perfect or consistent each time. But they do their absolute best, and hit the mark well almost every time.
The little bar does look like a super-fun pre or post evening spot to post-up for a bit.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 28, 2022
Was just looking for a burger for lunch so I decided to give this place a try. The food is solid, the service is friendly and it's clean-ish. I do appreciate the fact that the fries are served fresh and hot. The soda machine has Seattle Soda Company products, which is a nice touch! They do serve a lot of seafood as well, including fish and chips, which I would like to come back and try. Give this joint a shot!

I stopped in to Ballard Bro's on a whim. I was aimlessly driving through Ballard, saw the colorful exterior and thought "Why not"?
Upon entering, the owner himself greeted me at the door. Drew walked me through the reasteraunt, showed me articles written about the place and food reviews, told me about how his daughter convinced him to compost years before it was cool, let me sample his fries (steaming them prior to frying is his secret to amazing fries) and generally just talked shop.
I ended up settling on a bacon cheeseburger with fries, and a margarita to go (Drew had to twist my arm into ordering lol). After punching in my order, Drew let on that he was actually closed, but was going to feed me regardless. From there he walked me back to the bar and made my drink with a heavy hand. Once again conversation bounced around from places we have both lived and worked in, Frank Zappa, and his friend that used to work for Henry Ford.
Before I knew it, my burger was ready, I shook hands with Drew and we parted ways.
Now before I get into my burger and drink, I want to talk about the proprietor of this establishment. In a day and age where Seattle has seemed to have lost its soul, where young tech money bro's and odd introverts alike are more then happy to saddle up to a corporate, sterilized bar with the personality of a slab of concrete, and over pay for a sh*@ty IPA, the ballard Bro's and its passionate and delightfully weird owner takes me back to better times, when Seattle was still full tilt keeping it weird, and small business owners with actual personalities that where not sterilized by a corporate entity could still be successful. For that alone, I will be making myself a regular in the future.
How was the burger?
Perfect, and the fries and margarita where amazing as well.
Tldr; Amazing place, keep up the great work, you have a new life long customer!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - May 8, 2020
Omg I have to say they have the best fish sandwich and tater tots in town!
The fish is flavored to perfection and even fried, unlike most other places, it's not greasy at all for some reason. Just amazing.
We have been ordering delivery quite a bit from them lately due to covid-19. Food is so good. We have tried cod fish sandwich, onion rings, French fries and tater tots, fried pickles and fried mushroom, sweet potato tater tots. I honestly love them all.

I had tried Ballard Bros Seafood fries at the boat festival at Lake Union over the summer when they had a food stand up and remembering them being seasoned and delicious. So I've been meaning to stop in here for a while, especially since it's so close to me. Well I finally swung in last night and got a basket of fried goodness and it was tasty! I mean, it's fried, how bad can it go wrong?
I ordered:
- clams and fries
- came out to under $10
I still liked their seasoned fries! I mean, I can't eat this place everyday, once in a blue moon though, or else I'd be 50 lbs heavier lol. They have a big menu and a lot of variety. Mama Taco is also located inside of here. The place was dead when I went yesterday night. I do love their French Fries!Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Jon H.Tacoma, WA2033Jun 1, 2021
We ordered a blackened salmon burger, fries, and deep fried pickles. The cashier asked if we were going to be splitting the food, we said yes, and she offered to cut the sandwich in half for us. When the food was ready we found the fries and pickles split between two baskets and the halves of the salmon burger individually wrapped. It was a small thing but very nice. Excellent service.

Had the 2 piece cod and chips $10.99 and it was pretty good putting it in first place for now in our Seattle Fish and Chips Throwdown. Moist fish, salsa bar, cool venue and value were the highlights. The batter/breading was just OK. Karaoke night looks like fun. I'll be back for sure. Check it out!

While I was waiting for my food I witnessed
how the owner mistreated his employees. Food was not great either! I waited like an hour for my food only to receive a crappy salad with a tiny piece of unseasoned salmon.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
