Wow... what an amazing Guadelupe Valley Wine Tour with Baja California Wine Tours!!
The care and focus on making your day, the best day ever in Mexican Wine Country was in a class of its own.
Mario and Rene were wonderful Tour Guides, focused on every minute of the tour with the greatest care and concern for your safety, comfort and enjoyment.
The choice of Wineries is excellent; each Winery offering delicious red, white, and rose wines and charcuterie boards that didn't disappoint.
I went on the Public Tour and had too much fun with a combination of Wine Enthusiasts and Party-Goers, and highly recommend jumping aboard a Public Tour, if you can't pull together a private group.
I'm an advocate of Baja California Wine Tours and I'm already busy planning a public tour and private tour with friends.
Baja California Wine Tours is awesome!!

We had a wonderful tour experience! Mario was our guide. He was very knowledgeable about the area and got us to our destinations safely and efficiently!
We did a public tour. They provide easy pickup location instructions and had no problem parking our vehicle for the day. We stopped at three different wineries: Casa Frida, El Cielo, and Baron Balche. We tried a red, white, and rose at each place. Lunch was at Finca Altozano which was a preset meal. Each of the locations were a nice variety! Great wine tour experience that I would very much recommend.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Ana M.East Los Angeles, CA02Apr 21, 2024
Mario does an incredible job to ensure you have an amazing experience. His instructions are very clear, he is very knowledgeable and shares alot of fun facts along the way. Food was incredible and we were able to try a variety of wines at the various vineyards. My cousin and I are already planning our next visit and will definitely book with Mario again. Highly recommend!

Mario is absolutely wonderful! We had a group of 18 - he took care of everything and planned everything to perfection. Wine tasting, reservations for meals, zip lining, horse back riding, hiking. You name it! Can't wait to go back and visit Valle De Guadalupe with Mario's guidance.
PS his sidekick Rene was also amazing!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Amber E.San Diego, CA73825665126Aug 14, 2023Updated review
If you are looking for a wine-tasting trip down to Valle de Guadalupe with minimal work on your part - just book Mario at Baja California Wine Tours, and let him do the rest! Our friends booked him last August for their 20th anniversary trip to Valle, and we booked him this August for our 30th anniversary. Lots of options available: one day public wine tour, one day private wine tour: 6-14 people, or you can even book an overnight stay in Valle. We booked the private day tour, had 9 people, and it was a wonderful, memorable trip w/ great wines, great food, beautiful scenery and great time w/ friends and family.
Mario picked us up at our house at 9 am; we traveled down to the border in a standard mini-van, but once across, switched to a luxury van with plush seats, air conditioning, and could play our own music on their sound system.
We enjoyed wine-tasting at 3 amazing wineries -- (1) Lechuza, by the vineyard, one of our favorites; LOVE their Amantes, and the grilled shrimp quesadillas we decided to order; (2) Casa Magoni (under a gorgeous 500-year oak tree with a band playing and cheese platter, and (3) Adobe Guadalupe - another favorite. We had a delicious 4-course lunch at renowned Chef Javier Placentia's Finca Altozano, with fresh garden salad, octopus, vegetable risotto (surprisingly delish), and lamb tacos with all the fixins. We ordered some cocktails and local Valle wines, and thoroughly enjoyed our time.
Mario was very organized, knowledgeable, expert at keeping our group on schedule, while still being friendly, and pointing out the sites and fun facts. Border crossing back was a breeze. I absolutely recommend Mario and Baja California Wine Tours, and look forward to my next Baja visit!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0Aug 21, 2022Previous reviewAbsolutely recommend Mario and Baja California Wine Tours! Our friends booked with him for an anniversary party trip down to Valle, and he was very organized, really knowledgeable and helped everything run smoothly. He also pointed out landmarks and shared lots of interesting "fun facts" about a Baja on our journey. will definitely use Mario again for a trip to Valle or maybe even their Tijuana tour!

This day trip wine tour was well worth it. Everything from booking, to pick up to wineries and back over the boarder went seamlessly. Our group of 8 had a fantastic time. Mario (owner) was a pleasure a made sure we were happy. Our driver and tour guide, Rene, was a gem. Real Mexican hospitality. Loved it and will do again.

Mario and Baja CA Wine Tours are the best! My group and I did our 2nd private tour with Mario this past weekend and it was nothing short of amazing.
Mario is so knowledgeable about all areas on the drive down to Valle de Guadalupe and is so accommodating along the way. The drive down the Baja coast is beyond beautiful!
Once we got to Valle, we visited 2 wineries, which Mario picked. Both were fantastic and the wine was delicious. After that we made our way to lunch, which again, was beautiful. We sat outside and enjoyed the most delicious lunch. After lunch we had some time to hang at the property which had some amazing spots and great photo oops.
After lunch we headed to Cuatro Cuatros, which was a special request of mine. It added $45/pp to the cost of the tour, but it was well worth it! The views overlooking the ocean are breathtaking and the ambiance of Bar Bura is one of my favorites.
I can't say enough great things about Mario and the whole day. My group is already talking about when we want to go back again!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0May 25, 2022Previous reviewI have visited Valle de Guadalupe more than a handful of times and this by far was one of the best. Mario was so helpful from the first time I called him to ask about the tour. He answered all my questions, and I had a lot of questions. He was so accommodating from our schedule to our pick up/drop off. We had a group of 7 and this was the perfect tour. The transportation was large and very comfortable, he had water waiting for us and we were able to stop at the Oxxo after we crossed the border for some beers and snacks. On the drive to Valle, Mario pointed out numerous landmarks and was very knowledgeable about the drive down and gave us tons of fun facts! Throughout the day Mario was filled with stories, fun facts, and lots of educational information about Baja and Valle. He is also an amazing photographer (we had him take a million photos, and he was such a good sport about it).
When we arrived at the first winery, we were taken to our table which over looked the Valle and man was it beautiful. We enjoyed our wine tasting, which came with some delicious small bites. We finished our tasting, grabbed a bottle to go and were on our way to the next winery.
Upon arrival, we were taken on a tour of the wind making process, and learned all about the barrels and the time that goes into making the wine. After the tour we enjoyed our 2nd wine tasting and again took a bottle for the road. They also had an area where you could purchase local made jams, salsas, and other yummy snacks.
After the 2nd winery we were on our way to lunch. We arrived at the most beautiful restaurant and were seated along the edge, where the view was amazing. The food and drinks were some of the best we've ever had! I even ate the octopus, and I dont like octopus..it was that good. After lunch we had some time to explore the property, visit the animals, and take some pictures.
We were on our way yet again, this time to my favorite winery in Valle, Cuatro Cuatros. We decided not to do a tasting here and opted to go straight to Bar Bura. I cant say enough great things about this Bar. It is located on top of the cliffs, overlooking the ocean. I was the only one in my group that had been here before and the others in my group were not disappointed. This was an additional cost to the tour, but since we had pre-paid, we had quite the bar credit. We ordered drinks, food, and even some drinks to go.
Leaving Cuatro Cuatros is always a bummer for me, but I know I will be back soon! This was the perfect ending to the perfect day and its all thanks to our amazing guide, Mario.
Mario told us about other tours he runs, one in Tequila, Mexico and the 7 of us are so excited to get that trip planned, although it probably won't happen for a couple of years.
If you are deciding to take a tour of Valle de Guadalupe, or which tour to take, I cant say enough great things about Baja California Wine Tours and Mario. Mario, Thanks again for making our day so special!! We cant wait to se you again! - Kris S.San Diego, CA0229Jun 11, 2023
From the border crossings to the winery selection and then the amazing lunch this was such a great trip for my daughter's 30th birthday. Mario was wonderful and so was his 2nd driver. Thank you so much for making this day special

The wine tour was great! Our driver René was awesome! Very knowledgeable and friendly! All 3 of the wineries were beautiful and our lunch spot was fantastic! They pick you up from your house which was very convenient and the whole experience was awesome. Had a great time and would definitely recommend.
