Uncorked Wine Shop

Very disappointed with our experience today. My fiancé and I were excited to try a new wine shop and taste some great wines. Admittedly we came in relatively close to closing time. We walked in at 5:15 and the tastings are supposed to close at 5:45 and store closes at 6. That's still plenty of time to get a tasting in especially since there was no one else there.

We walked in to the tasting area and were greeted with a hello from across the store. We asked if they were still doing tastings to which they responded with "ummmm .... well.....sure but we don't have all of them because we are closing in 20 minutes. I mean 20-40 minutes." So either they are closing early which isn't good or simply they didn't want to serve us. Considering they didn't even come over to talk to us. They continued to talk to us from across the store. I'm leaning towards the latter.

This might not seem like a huge deal and maybe I'm being hyper sensitive. But it's just disappointing when you go somewhere that relies on customer service and you're treated like a nuisance. You would think they would actually want our money or would attempt to try to get you stay. Maybe swap out the wines that your missing (although I imagine they had more available they just didn't want to open more ). Or let us know that it would be a discounted price before we had to ask about it.

I guess I just expected more from a wine store in Manhattan beach.

It seems to have a nice selection of wines and other collectibles but if you are looking for a tasting experience I would try Uncorked or Barsha.

Robbie was cool, great vibes. The white wine was excellent at a fair price. Happy hour is even better

Walking down Manhattan Ave in Manhattan Beach, we came across this amazing wine shop, as well as delightful and happily animated smile of the lady behind the counter! She's also English! That accent is a charm!

Add warm sparkly sun-rays of soon-to-be settling into the ocean waters, behind the horizon sun, and we're sold on spending couple of hours at Uncorked, enjoying the setting and people watching at the same time. Relaxing!

Offered for sale are unique wines, and various options for your tasting flight. I feel comfortable choosing home grown wines from various vineyards around California. You can't go wrong with good Zin, let's check it out!

Plough Family Estate Zin 2018 Green Valley Solano County @Uncorked Wine Shop Manhattan Beach CA Sun 11/27/22

Grown, produced & bottled in Fairfield, CA, close to my home (relative to this SoCal loc) in Solano County at the Plough Family Vineyards. Made from hand farmed grapes and hand crushed on site, aged for 14 months in oak, all 100% Zinfandel grapes make for unique, limited production wine. Upfront core of jammy rich fruit combined with hints of black pepper. Exceptional estate wine! Enjoy!

Our delightful friendly server made sure we had a great time! And I loved her British English! She's a voice over on cartoons production as well, so appreciate that backup job and admire her interest in wine matters also! What will it be, one or the other?:)

If tall, dark & handsome was a wine, this would be it! Aged for 14 months in oak, this wine presents an upfront core of jammy rich fruit, exotic spice & hints of black pepper. Oki friends, I'm aged way longer and I may be two of those things (tall & handsome LOL) but a baldie, this Zin is superb & I enjoyed it tremendously!

Very good quality wine, refreshing and delicious. I really enjoyed it with my husband . I would recommend it to anybody.

The most adorable shop in the city. We're HUGE wine drinkers. This shop is quick to listen to what the locals want to drink and always have the sweetest staff with the best recommendations (Wes is a gem) As a member and local, highly recommend.

Great wine, views, and vibe. Way better than MB Wines. Avoid MB Wines and come on over to Uncorked for great tastings

This place is amazing! After having dinner or drinks down the street this is a really fun way to end the night or maybe pre game a brunch brunch. We had a great time and a great view. Highly recommend

Lived in LA for many years without finding a wine store that actually paid attention to me as a customer interested in not only finding the right wine, but also learning about wine. Janelle is amazing and so approachable in asking any question you might have about wine without feeling dumb. They have such an ecletic selection of wines and I want to try them all! You really get a feel for the community by visiting during one of their featured wine events. Looking forward to coming back again and again!

My wife and I did a wine tasting at uncorked on 02Aug2021. We had a wonderful experience. The worker was attentive and very helpful. She even let my wife substitute a wine she didn't like for another one. I would recommend you check Uncorked out in Manhattan Beach.

What started off was a great time, ordered a couple-flights of wine, followed that up with a full bottle of wine and now I'm $100 or more dollars in. I noticed a note on the table that stated " $20 per person minimum (check) and 2 hour limit (check). I was concerned that we were close to the 2 hour limit, I asked the waitress and she noted we could stay for 20 more minutes, I asked if we buy more wine can we stay and she said yes. I purchased another bottle of wine, spend total about $150 dollars. We met another couple at the trouble next to us and ended up having such a great time, we exchanged info and will meet next time in town. Waitress even mentioned that it was nice to see that people become close when there,here , our waitress was great and we were having a great time. Now you may ask, if you had a great time why the 1 star rating, if I was able it would have gotten no stars. In comes Daryle, older gentleman with long grey hair who should never be in customer service and should immediately be fired if I owned the place. He came out and told us we need to leave, I advised we purchased a bottle of wine and had 2 more people coming to meet us. He said that we couldn't stay at our table and literally set a timer on his phone for 10 minutes and that's all we had to finished what we purchased. I advised that we talked to the waitress regarding the table and was able to stay. None the less he told us to leave and never come back again. He threatened to call the police on us for staying. Mind you we spent about $150 dollars and was causing no issues, and he made us feel like criminals around all other guests and my wife was crying, we did nothing wrong and paid for everything we purchased. The table next to us said to forget about it as the waiter "Daryl" was out of line. Not so easy when he made my wife cry, Daryl is a menace to customer service oriented business and should be fired immediately, if not I will do everything in my power legally to make sure the place fails! This is a disgrace as we have come here for years and the Poop Deck was our favorite which is now closed. I hope the owner takes this seriously!

Yesterday my husband & I had the best experience at this wine shop. We were kind of rushed out of a restaurant we were at previously, but it was such a gorgeous day in Manhattan Beach that we weren't ready to go home just yet. We walked around, did a little sidewalk shopping and decided to have some wine. We've shopped here before and there was a very sweet young girl who recommended us a wonderful bottle of wine to take to our Arthur J reservation. & I'm happy to say we got the same experience yesterday with Pamela. Pamela was so friendly from the time we walked in that we ended up staying for 3 hours lol. She recommended the perfect bottle of Sake for us and we literally sat there inside the shop with her and mingled with guests coming in & out for 3 hours. Even when the shop got crazy busy, she handled it like a pro, all by herself!! Things took an awkward turn when the owner of the boutique next door came over and basically scolded Pamela in front of us, for having the AC too low. I was later told that this shop shares the AC with her. My husband & i felt so bad because Pamela was only trying to accommodate us by turning it on. We were sitting inside, right in front of the glass window so my husband and i were starting to sweat sitting there but we didn't want to leave, or go sit outside because the fun was INSIDE!! It was a little unprofessional for the boutique owner to handle the situation that way. I definitely can understand her frustration but all she had to do was ask her to turn it off, or up some. There was no reason that paying customers should've witnessed that! But overall, great music, great people, & great service. You guys definitely have new "regular" customers now and we will definitely be back in soon!! Keep up the great work!! & Kudos to Pamela for keeping her cool & never raising her voice at the boutique owner. She handled herself like a professional
