Austin's

This was one of the restaurants our airbnb hosts recommended to check out during our stay in Tahoe and it did not disappoint!

There's plenty of parking around and it's a quaint little restaurant right off the Main Street. We wanted something that was family friendly and this fit the bill! They have high chairs and a kids menu with crayons to draw for the kiddos. We ordered them the grilled cheese and the Mac and cheese as there weren't too many options. There isn't much of a variety for the kids. I took out 1 star because I asked for veggies on the side instead of French fries or mashed potatoes and they didn't have any. So the only sides they have are French fries or mashed potatoes... which the kids love because it's CARBS (who wouldn't?!) but man it would be great to include some veggies like steamed broccoli for the kids!!

We ordered the artichoke appetizer and burgers for us and gave them some veggies from our plates. The burgers were decent, nothing out of the ordinary. They are VERY generous with their fries!!

Service was a bit slow but very understandable as they seemed to be understaffed. I did appreciate our server coming to check in on us if we needed anything! The poor guy felt bad about our food taking longer and he was sweet and even gave our kids an extra juice. Really nice service!!!

One thing to note is that this place is on the small side, especially if you're a group of 5 like us. I actually called in advance to reserve and we got lucky with one table perfect for our family. So I'd recommend calling in advance!

All in all, this is a nice place to stop for lunch if you're in the area and it is a good kid friendly place! The portions are big but they don't have as much "healthier" options if you know what I mean.

decent food. good atmosphere. not a fan of the decorations outside but it is what it is.

i enjoy the doug's favorite. probably the best salad in incline if i had to say. always been a fan of the chicken fried bacon burger. i wish they would go back to more cornbread included but i understand that's an expensive offering nowadays.

overall a good to even great experience the last few times i've been there.

I came here for lunch with a big group and they were very accommodating and helped set up two tables for us. We were seated on the outside patio and the staff were all friendly.

I decided to order the Ahi Tuna Sandwich, which was a tasty sandwich with seared ahi tuna. The order comes with fries and the portions were great! The food also came out in a timely manner, some dishes took longer than others, but that is to be expected.

Overall, Austin's is a great casual dining option for lunch in Incline Village and we enjoyed our meal!

I had one of my top 5 dishes here at Austin's ! Their ahi tuna with potatoes and a side salad in place of fries was wonderful! Seared on the outside a tad and seasoned delightfully. I would come back into town and eat there just for that meal ! Bar service was great but it was a busy night at the start and we waited a bit to get seated. My friends had the country fried steak and enjoyed their dishes as well! Clean place and friendly staff.

The food, service and ambiance were all
wonderful. They are pet friendly also! we share16 oz rib eye and Thia style chicken wings.
Anna our server did a wonderful job.

TLDR: Cute cafe in Incline Village with large portions, really tasty food, and INCREDIBLE fries. If you're a fry snob, TRY THESE.

FOOD:
I had the chicken fried chicken sandwich (4/5). Huge fried chicken sandwich on Dutch crunch bread. I had a big appetite but still could only eat half the sandwich in one sitting. I usually love dutch crunch but I thought the crunch part of the bread was a little soggy / wasn't great. The sandwich itself was nice but nothing special.

The sandwich came with a massive serving of fries (5/5) that were so crispy and packed with flavor. If you order the fries on their own, they come out in a huge bucket. I can't stop thinking about these fries....

We also ordered the meatloaf (4.5/5), which was tasty and well-seasoned. I only tried a bite of this but thought it was great.

SERVICE:
We had a really nice waitress and she attentively came to refill water and make sure we were doing well. She did forget one of our items but it wasn't a big deal and she quickly brought it out when we brought it up.

ENVIRONMENT / AMBIANCE:
We had a large group of ~10 people and while they couldn't accommodate us all at one outdoor table, they let us take over two tables next to each other on the outdoor patio. They did have a big enough table indoors, but because the weather was so nice, we wanted to sit outside. They have a wonderful outdoor space with plenty of tables that can fit 4-6 people each, and the environment feels calm and outdoorsy due to all the plants and trees and forest animals (mostly these beautiful birds that would flit around).

Ended up here bc the restaurant across the way (Fumo) had patrons that were extremely disruptive. Other guests also left and we found ourselves here. But happy to have landed here...the chili was good and not too heavy. Cornbread was ok. The crispy chicken salad and the burger was good but they had the BEST fries ever. Buttermilk fries!! The waitstaff was super nice and had a great attitude. Would definitely come back!

Well we had dinner here last nite , not much to choose from if you are staying at the Hyatt .. we ate dinner at this place last summer and were seated outside it was nice over all the service isn't the friendliest but oh well .. last nite they had one guy at the bar and one server for the whole place ?!! The waiter has no personality this isn't his thing obviously and the food was horrible One of us had the chicken fried steak Omg it didn't look like a chicken fried steak and the texture was awful!!! I have never had any thing like it and the one of us had the rainbow trout it was good but the white gravy and mashed potatoes were gross .. we had the Cobb salad and it was the worst salad I've ever tasted...and the chicken sandwich was dry .. it was an expensive tab and the place is nothing fancy with a minimal wait that only smiled when he got his tip folks don't waste your money going here not worth it ..had to let you know !!!!

Stellar Food and Service!

We happened upon Austin's and we're so glad we did! They were able to accommodate our large party of 12. The drinks were delicious and the food was even better. I had the veggie burger and it was phenomenal. My brother loved the homemade meatloaf. The star of the show was the pickle fries!! So good. Polly was our server and we adored her.

Tried to order (via Yelp). The app directed me to call to order. I got their voicemail which directed me to order online. I tried multiple times, provided info to create an account, and each time I clicked "checkout", it took me to a blank page and did not enable me to pay and complete the order. Reviews for the wings sounded really good, but no soup for me and no good review for them.
