My mom moved here two months ago and has settled in very well. We looked at a number of places before going with Atria Crossgate. Many assisted living places offer "medicine management" but Atria doesn't just keep the pills under lock and key and dole them out as needed. They work with the doctors, make the appointments and provide transportation. They even have lab work done on premises two days a week. The staff go over and above to make sure the medicines are done correctly and that my mom has all her medical needs addressed. When mom goes to a doctor, they give her a current list of her medicines to provide to the doctor along with a sheet for the doctor to fill out and send back with mom indicating any follow up that will be needed.

I can't stress enough how diligent and responsive the medical staff are! Much thanks to Kim, Brittney, and all the other staff there. My family no longer has to "fight" with mom about what doctor she is going to and when.

No little girl dreams of the day she will grow up and be in assisted living and my mom is no exception. She did not feel she needed so much help, but we knew she did. She was living in a two bedroom apartment and was very disappointed in the size of the one bedroom apartment at Atria. We were only able to put some of her furniture in the apartment but she seems to have adjusted, although the size of the apartment continues to bug her.

The meals at the Atria are varied and pretty good overall. If you don't like the nightly specials, there are always a few options and a staple menu of sandwiches, etc. My mom has some allergies and before she went there, we spoke with Kevin, the head chef. He has been very aware and attentive of my mom's needs and makes sure there is no cross-contamination of foods she can't eat. His attention to detail and genuine desire to make meals that everyone can enjoy is very refreshing and appreciated.

The rooms are cleaned regularly and staff do the laundry weekly. Garbage is emptied every day from the room and the halls and common areas are always kept clean.

The grounds are well kept and there is always some activity going on. These are usually done in the main living area right around meal time when everyone is coming out of the dining room. So, the activities are more like friends and family getting together after a meal to play a game or sing a song than a stuffy formal activity.

Mom has gone on several of the "outings": one was to a local restaurant, a couple of times to Walmart and to TJ Maxx. It wasn't that she needed to shop, it's just nice to get out and have an adventure sometimes.

Overall, Atria Crossgate exceeded our expectations in that they helped mom make the transition to accepting help with her medicines and doctor's appointments and they have kept her safe, well fed and engaged. We knew going in that assisted living is not an all-inclusive resort, it's a place where professionals can supplement family support to meet the needs of people who are getting overwhelmed by everything they need to do. Everyone from Jennifer who gave us the initial tour to Kristen the Director made the transition smooth and as easy as possible.

My mom lived here for several months before moving to an independent living facility. Her only complaint was that the food wasn't varied enough, but she's a picky eater and hard to please. They seemed to care about the residents and did as good of a job as any place I've ever visited. If you are looking at assisted living facilities, check this one out.

My 100 year old grandma lives her and she's really mean so that's why they get an additional star. Otherwise it would be 2.5 at best. The facilities are clean, the food is okay, but today I went to a picnic where the staff bad mouthed other staff, the picnic, the food and everything else. really, if you're eating at a table next to the residents, please keep your mouth shut!
