Amazing experience here, at the AT&T Store in Chestnut Hill today.

I visit AT&T stores often. Not that this was closest to me, but I was going to Chestnut Hill, and planned on stopping by this and the Verizon store to try to see who had the best deal on an iPhone 6. Here, at the Chestnut Hill AT&T, I had one of the best AT&T experiences ever. A woman over at the Dedham location was great, but this experience was almost as good. Would have been just as good if I didn't need to wait. Wait time was average of 10 minutes, which actually wasn't bad, but the Dedham store is usually no wait, or very little, and they seem to have more staff. YET, the Verizon store (where I stopped first), had a wait of over 1 hour! So kudos to the AT&T store for having 2 Newton locations, which (I think) helps.
Anyway, once I sat down and started talking to Maz about my situation, he was extremely organized in writing down all of the rates, and all of the different options I had (the NEXT program, or 2 year contract). He was super friendly and was very smart about not only everything at AT&T, yet other places like Verizon & DirectTV, which was very useful (and I will now be switching to DirectTV, thanks to him!).
Overall, great experience. I would highly suggest this AT&T store to anyone, yet more and more the "Company Stores" (including the other Newton location, the one in Dedham and many others in the area), are *MUCH*, MUCH better than those ANNOYING "Authorized Retailers" (like the terrible one in Walpole). So it doesn't really matter which one, whether it's here or another Company Store closer to you.
This particular location is located in "The Street", on Route 9 in Chestnut Hill (right near the Brookline border), and has 2 entrances (one in the back near the back entrance of Star Market & The Container Store, and one out front, bordering Route 9).

Very unimpressed. I wanted a longer charging cable for my iPhone, which is in a Mophie case. I showed the case and the place where the charger would go to Vianca. When I got home, I realized it was the wrong kind. First of all, she ought to know what kind of charger you need for a Mophie, and security be of all, I took it out and showed it to her! And she still got it wrong !
I called the store about it and they were not the least bit apologetic.
I will definitely not go to this store again. Talk about crappy service!
I have been with AT&T for seventeen years now. But this kind of "service" is actually making me consider the competition.

I walked in and wasn't addressed by anyone.

I asked who worked their and a gentlemen sitting with a customer said "I'm the only one hear right now".

I waited a few minutes and then asked how long he would be. He said it wouldn't be too long.

I just started looking around and when I picked up my head he was talking to another customer that just walked in.

I was about to switch from Verizon to AT&T for me and my family. (6 devices) Not at this store. I wish I read the reviews before...

They were very prompt with greeting me at the door since it was a slow Sunday morning however they wasted my time "attempting" to fix my voicemail problem and ended up making it worse than before. I didn't think that was even possible. I came in because I was no longer receiving voicemails for who knows how long but still had my saved voicemails and my visual voicemail feature. Marc, I think was his name, fiddled around with my phone for a good 45 minutes. He told me my SIM card was too old so he replaced it free of charge, and then somehow got rid of my entire visual voicemail trying to reset it, and I am STILL not receiving any voicemails. He ended up just telling me to call AT&T customer support and had the nerve to tell me to leave a good review for him on the survey. Very disappointed and upset with the service and how much time that was wasted.

Rhoodly and Eddie were great! They helped us out and lot and suggested better ways to go about our plan. I was there before as well and was accommodated by Tenzin. They're a great team led by an amazing manager. Keep up the good work, everybody! ;)

      Great service!

Maz is da' man!! We went in to upgrade an iPhone 5 to a 6s (didn't want the latest) and Maz was a huge help. He patiently sat with us through the backup of the old phone, the IOS upgrade for the new phone, and the transfer of everything to the new phone. He must have spent over an hour with us and was a delight to chat with. No pressure, super helpful, patient & knowledgeable, he is the dude I will see the next time I need to upgrade.

If I could have given 0 stars I would have. I had the most horrific experience at the Chestnut Hill location today. I waited for about an hour and a half for my turn. During that time, no one approached me which I kind of understood as both sales people on the floor were busy with other customers. Where it all went south is when it was finally my turn and the sales person started helping someone who had come in after me - I actually saw her walk in the door after I had been in the store for about 15 minutes. Since there was no sign-in sheet (which had been in the front of the store during my other visits) I had no "proof" I was there first. I was understandably upset but chose not to make a scene. So I continued to wait. Finally the manager came out from the back to help me. I apologized in advance for being in a bad mood and explained what had happened. She apologized and started to help me. She quickly passed me off to some guy named Maz. He is by far the rudest, most awful person I have ever had the displeasure of "helping" me. He immediately copped an attitude and really escalated the tension. He even went so far as to chastise me for my attitude. All I wanted at this point was for someone to be nice to me and help me order my new phone. This guy Maz did nothing other that to try to log me on to the AT&T application on my phone. Interestingly enough, in the AT&T store I couldn't get enough cell service or strong enough wifi to complete the order. So after 2 tries, both of which ended up with a frozen screen, Maz told me just to call AT&T. He then practically kicked me out of the store. I have NEVER felt so disrespected.
I have been a loyal AT&T customer for about 20 years. I'm currently researching other wireless providers.

There's a person named Mark, really really really very very very stupid. We went to the store to cancel post-paid family plan and create a new post paid family plan between my wife and I. The customer representative is Mark.
      Here's what he did:
      1, spent more than 4 hours to do so;
2, told us the new plan will cost about 40 USD per person each month.
3, set the old family plan holder's name (not me) as the new family plan's holder.
One month later, we could not figure out how to pay the bill--- obviously, it's not under my name... so we went to the ATT at Harvard Square and found out that:
1, the plan's rate is 75USD per person.
2, I could not even pay the bill because of the holder name's mistake!
So the previous holder called att and finally went to ATT store in California....while my wife and I are in Boston!
      What a stupid representative.
So, if you choose this store, never seek help from this representative. Good luck...

...I am not sure if the staff could care less.

Was given misinformation, then when I showed the contrary on the AT&T web site, they further made up some lame reason/BS about not being on the AT&T network. I stated I was in an AT&T store and asked them if they could access the AT&T network, then was asked to return in a couple hours when more technical staff would arrive. a.k.a 'come back after we are gone for the day!"
