      Neon Meat Market

You'll find various cuts of meat in here ranging from the poorly fed, lanky veal girls, to the giant heifers (moo!) and your run of the mill chickens. You'll sometimes run into the occasional enraged, inebriated bullmooses who like to start fights over minutia.

The top 5 reasons to go here:

      1) Priceless entertainment. You'll be able to get 1st rate people watching, especially as the clock ticks. Watching a sloppy drunk girl trying to dance in 6 inch stilettos is pretty hilarious when the mood strikes.
      2) It's one of the few places in H-ton where you can go shake what your momma gave you and be a little wacky. I once wore a sombrero. Chicks dug my sombrero.
      3) 30% of the time I enjoy the music. I'm a sucker for most electronic music such as house/trance/dance.
      4) You can move it like bernie and someone will inevitably join in. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQgFhs_6pwM&feature=related)
      5) Schadenfreude.

The top 5 reasons NOT to go here:

      1) Completely watered down drinks. Not worth getting anything other than a bottle of water.
      2) Amateurs. Funny at first, annoying fast.
      3) The area in the back is amazing on a cool summer night but is usually riddled with smokers and lots of them, bleh!
      4) 70% of the time the music is annoying.
      5) It really is a meat market with neon lights. The crowd ranges from OK to the slime of society and LI Guidos who'll shove and punch at the drop of a hat. Give me a break, bro.

You're better off saving your money and dancing in front of a mirror in your underwear at home than coming here on most nights.

the Artful dodger, or Radio Huntington as its currently labeled. USED to be a normal bar before it underwent a complete makeover in order to try to target the shallower, top 40, cake your make up on your face type.

the front entrance is designed to look like a nightclub entrance so they can charge the cover.
The entrance staff (two girls, both 4/10'a) ask for your phone number so they can "tell you when its ladies night".

don't waste your time or encourage them.

Wouldn't it be weird if you hit fast-forward, came back to New York City in five years and discovered that Katz' Deli had rebranded as an upscale French Bistro? It would be the craziest thing, right? Why would they ever do that?

The Artful Dodger was known as the place to go in Huntington. Not known for its ambiance so much as the friendly bartenders and pub scene that established it as basically THE gathering place in Huntington for just about everyone.

Now, same name, but it's an upscale lounge trying to give off a vibe of exclusivity. Based on the fact that no one was there last night, I guess the owners were successful. So sad.....

In all honesty whenever I pass this place I can't help but think during the week it's a chop shop, and then for Friday and Saturday it's a "club" - mainly because the door to the lounge is exactly like the garage doors in mechanics shops, and theres a massive parking lot across the street.

Anyway, for the serious part of my review: as far as this place goes, I think it's a chop shop. When it serves as a "club" however the place is usually empty on Friday and Saturday nights - probably because the age to enter is +23 for men and +21 for women, plus their strict dress code which doesn't mesh well with most of the crowd from Huntington.

      1. if you dont like loud good house/trance music than thats not a place for you..
      2. if you dont like the 21-30yr old crowd than thats not a place for you.
      3. if u gave 1-2 starts b/c of the point number 1 and number 2 ... than obv you should go somewhere else!

Personally the place is very nice.. classy.. sound is great for dancing and Thursday nights are new saturday or friday nights!!.

the new promotional company that is starting to taking care of the vibe and atmosphere there is incredible..

the out side area is brilliant for people that smoke and especially in the cold.. because its heated and over the summer it becomes a out door area.

The Dodger had a lot of potential when it was renovated a few years back, but that has all gone down the drain. This place just stinks now (worse than when it used to have a solid layer of vomit on the floor). From the 'dress code', to the tight quarters in the front and the bathroom lines in the back, it's exactly what I'm NOT looking for in a night out. It went for 'trendy' but really I just find it an annoying place to go to. Some of my buddies love it here and I'll roll in with them, then go missing 15 min later (prob to the back of Mary Carrolls) Irish Exit styles. I used to live close to here and watched the police cars come like clockwork at 1:30am almost every weekend. Weak.

I came here on a friday night and ive never seen a place that was so dead. go here if you want to laugh at people so zoned out of their mind, or spaced out awkwardly against the wall. Not to mention i had to pay to get into this place. music was far from good. i was always curious about the place since i see the flashing lights outside, but that craving went away as soon as i stepped foot into the place. Im sorry, but it is just not my scene.

Great little place to hit up on a saturday night. The crowd is younger than most of the Village bars (20s) and the music is up to speed. I like it because the people who work there are friendly enough and the drinks are good. I wouldnt drive out of my way to come here but living in the area makes it an easy hot spot for a random night out.. =) oh and if ur rejected for not being properly dressed....you probably shouldn't be out in rags anyways...the people in there are dressed pretty normal so I wouldnt say they are overly strict with a dresscode...
