The place was easy to find however when I went in, I wasn't sure I was in the right place because the massage studio is also a framing shop. I saw children go into another room and there was a small curtain separating me from the rest of the space. It was a bit uncomfortable to change knowing that.
As far as the massage itself, it was great. Deep tissue and lots of hand work in the areas I needed. There was no real consultation in the beginning due the language barrier but on the plus side they knew what they were doing. For an $80 massage, I would expect a bit more ambiance and more privacy but overall it was good massage.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mabel W.Forest Hills, NY6964147Jan 10, 2012
I'm glad this place is so close to me.
I just came back from an amazing massage from Linda. She was very sweet and professional. My back was really tense when I came in - I left feeling relaxed all over my body.
She charges $45 for women, $50 for men.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Cheryl M.KEW GARDEN HL, NY39712Nov 27, 2011
Linda was amazing. Had a 60 min deep tissue massage & hit all the right spots. Came in so tense & fatigued - came out loose, relaxed, while envigorated.
It's a no frills small quaint room, inside a townhouse w/ relaxing music & privacy. You feel like your in your own home enjoying some much deserved bliss.
Will be a regular since it's so convenient to the 71st. Continental subway stop. And at $45 dollars - so worth the trip!
Highly recommend her excellent, intuitive service & her humourous conversation. Truly a hidden gem!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jun 8, 2013
They do great job here. They provide a very intense massage. I had Linda as my masseuse based on yelp recommendations. She did a very good job working out every single one of my knots. She really opened up my back and helped me to breathe a bit better.
Recommended for anyone who likes an intense massage.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sanday U.First Hill, Seattle, WA52Mar 14, 2017
Absolutely loved Linda! It's hard to find a masseuse that will (or can for that matter) use really deep pressure which I need on my back and neck. She took extra time on the most needed areas and I feel incredible. I already scheduled my next appointment!

First massage ever and it was amazing. I have serious lower back pain for two days, I can actual stand straight today. I will be coming back with any future lower back pain.

My mother, Zoila, has been seeing Mitch for over 1 year and has had nothing but amazing therapeutic massages. After having no luck with her sciatica (even after surgery) Mitch has definitely helped alleviate her pain and slowly recover. Professional establishment and top notch service. Thanks Mitch!

Great experience!
I live in Forest Hills and have walked passed the Art of Relaxation countless times. It's in an townhouse type of building in residential neighborhood which always made me question whether they are legit or not -- but I can tell you they are.
I made an appointment and spent a fantastic hour there. They appear to have 2 massage specialties: Sweddish massage and Tui Na.

Like many people I don't necessarily go get massages to be pampered, but rather to relieve painful tension, stress and knots.
I've been to a lot of fantastic places for massages: Canyon Ranch, La Costa, Bliss, Elizabeth Arden, Naturopathica & others -- and as far as therapeutic messages go, this was just as good as any of them, and in some cases even better!
It's not a fancy place by any means, but its quiet, the table is comfortable and Linda who worked with me there was lovely.
If you're looking to relieve some back & neck tension -- I highly recommend it!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Maria K.Throgs Neck, Bronx, NY02Mar 10, 2015
I can not express how upset I am with this place. I had an appointment tonight and I was not able to make it. My daughter had to be rushed to the ER. I received over 40 phone calls no exaggeration and threatening voicemails telling me "I know where you work I will be at your office tomorrow be careful" I demanded to speak to the manager who was in no way apologetic. The lady calling me hardly spoke English and was screaming every time I picked up the phone. It got to the point I needed to call the local police department because they would not stop calling and threatening me. After calling the police I then received a phone call from them apologizing because the cops had contacted them. Too little too late I will not stop till everyone knows how crazy the employees are here.

I got a great massage today from Linda. She is very aware of her clients' needs because I told her I wasn't sure what type I wanted and ended up asking for Chinese bodywork. She mixed it with deep tissue in certain areas where I was very tight. Usually I don't ask for deep tissue due to pain but, while Linda is very strong, she didn't hurt me. I felt that what she was doing was just right and it felt like it was "working" mid massage. Afterwards, we sat and chatted for a bit as there was nobody right after me. She's a lovely woman and obviously has passion for this work. The office is not fancy but it was still relaxing. The owners kids were in the waiting room, but I didn't mind as they are extremely well-behaved. I've paid a lot more money in fancy spas for a so-so massage. I would rather come here because I left feeling amazing!
