Very cute breakfast and lunch spot in Pensacola. We went for lunch on a Tuesday and when we were there it wasn't very busy.
The Mimosa menu was awesome! The most extensive I've ever seen. My sister Pea and I ordered Strawberry Mimosas (a first for me) and they were delicious! We both ordered the Meatloaf Sandwich with a side of Mac and Cheese. The Meatloaf was delicious, very moist, flavorful and tender. But the Mac and Cheese was a letdown. Obviously cooked in advance, dry, overcooked and not creamy or gooey as a good Mac and Cheese should be. But overall it was a nice lunch in a lovely setting.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - T C.Seffner, FL88753009Jan 13, 2024
We were a bit happily surprised to find a barber shop inside the coffee shop. We sat down and had black coffee and a Poe coffee half sweet(chocolate raspberry with have the sweetness) The coffee if from Drowsey Poet and is very smooth. The shrimp and grits had 10 shrimp and pimento cheese grits. It was good. The avocado toast was good with eggs, seasoning, nuts and honey. It was very good. The blueberry scone was ok, better dipped in coffee.
The waitress kept our coffee hot and plates cleared. I thought the avocado toast was a bit high at $12.99 for 2 slices.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Mar 10, 2023
This is my second visit to Aragon Cafe though the 1st one was at night for a legal gathering and only special samples and wine were served. I waited until I went back for breakfast - which was exceptional!
Since a majority (not all) of breakfast options included eggs - which I'm not fond of - you can actually order lunch at any time but it was very early and my tummy was not awake yet!
I ordered a strawberry banana smoothie which was served in a mason type jar and it was delicious! The straw they give you is wider than most which is great - just in case you might get a tiny piece of ice in it, which I did not! The menu states that they use fresh fruit in their smoothies and I believe it! I also ordered a side of potatoes and they were hot and seasoned just right.
My best friend ordered a breakfast burrito with a side of grits. He said the burrito was very, very good. He also stated that his grits were so creamy that he at first thought it looked like a side of gravy - and he loved that!
The parking was excellent as we were directly in front of Aragon Cafe. I also noticed there are about 4 sets of rod iron tables and chairs outside in front which I thought added charm to their business!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Rhea R.Florissant, MO0236Oct 8, 2023
Good breakfast & excellent wait staff.
The avocado toast was a bit unusual almost off putting. It was served with slivered almonds on it & sprinkled with raw chili powder on top of the scrabbled egg. I wouldn't order that again. My husband tried the meatloaf sandwich which was surprisingly good. It had crispy edges & moist meat. The lattes were excellent.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 15, 2022
My hot oat milk chai latte was great, not too sweet. I would've gotten the crab cakes but they were out so I got the Aragon Sunrise breakfast. It was a little dry, but I blame myself because I should've gotten my eggs a different way besides scrambled.
As a consolation, I dipped my eggs into my boyfriend's over easy eggs which tasted way better. The bacon lacked flavor.
The service was good and I appreciated the multitude of beverage options.
It was also fun to watch people get their haircut next door. The barbershop felt contained enough despite the atypical pairing of businesses.
I'd definitely come back to try the crab cakes.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Julee D.Orange, TX28222188Oct 8, 2022
It was okay. I don't like menus with no prices, but aside from that...meh. I had a breakfast burrito and it was tasty. The chipotle mayo was very spicy. Thankfully, I asked for it on the side. My niece didn't...so her burrito was too spicy for her.
My side order was the cranberry slaw. Tasty.
Our waitress was pleasant. The food was slow to arrive but perhaps I am impatient. A lot of restaurants in Pensacola seem to suffer from slow kitchen-itus.
My sister had the avocado toast and our friend had a three egg breakfast.
Their "house made" picante sauce tasted like pure cumin. Note to chef: no cumin required in picante sauce. Tomatoes, onion, garlic, cilantro, chili pepper, salt, pepper, blitz.
Breakfast was okay but there are much better places to have breakfast IMHO.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dillon P.FL, FL0121Dec 1, 2023
Great atmosphere! Huge thank you to the staff working Dec 1st at 1pm! Very clean and friendly atmosphere. Delicious coffee and food!
The Aragon Cafe is like a restaurant from kitchen nightmares after Gordon Ramsey made all the improvements.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Quennie J.Cantonment, FL543388Mar 5, 2023
Small cafe right next to a barbershop. Place have approximately 15tables. They have seasonal flavors of yummy 16oz and or 20oz coffee hot or cold. If you like lattes and flavored coffee it's a must to get one, you won't regret it. My coffee cost $5and some change for 16oz. They serve beers and also flavored mimosas that comes in a bottle.
I had the shrimp and grits, it was a good size meal it comes with some sautéed bell peppers, onions, and a dash of crema, it was delicious. My significant other had the breakfasts sandwich, tater tots and requested cheese on top. He liked it and suggested we're definitely coming back here. They have lunch menu as well. Which is what we will try the next time we go back.
Service is great and quick, only thing... prices of the food in the menu is not listed when they hand it over to you. It made me think that the check after eating will be a surprise. But in the end it was not bad it's a the same as other restaurants. Very decent price for the size and taste of the food. My shrimp n grits and the sandwich both cost $13 and some change.
The place only have street parking it can be tough if it's busy. They have couple of tables outside incase you want to take your dog.
Definitely is a great place to go back to.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0
