Anthem Veterans Memorial

Happy Veteran's Day! The Anthem Veteran's Memorial is a permanent structure dedicated to the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Made before the creation of the Space Force, the monument has a row for the five branches of the military. The monument is located in Anthem Community Park. There is a small lake near the monument. The area has an overall peaceful feel. Visit the monument, then enjoy the rest of the park.

For 2022, there is a whole Veteran's Day Ceremony. This ceremony includes, (but not limited to) the different branches of the military, a band, a choir, honor guard, color guard, guest speakers, and various youth groups. I had only heard about the phenomenon of the sun shining through the four monuments to illuminate the U.S. seal, at 11:11 a.m., on 11/11. This only happens at that precise time on that precise day. I had not heard of the Veteran's Day Ceremony. When we arrived at 9:30 am, there were already over 1,000 people there, and the ceremony was underway. The ceremony is clearly a full community event. In order to get close enough to see the sun shining through the installment, one needs to get there EARLY. By the time we arrived, we were way too far back to see the seal.

I had the pleasure of attending the inauguration of this memorial. It is designed uniquely to honor veterans specifically every year on 11:11:11:11, Nov 11th, at 11:11AM.
