I drove up from san diego because they suppose to be the best... Horrible experience told them to replace everything in my tranny, i wanted my tranny to last atleast a year....got 200 miles before it broke again and they say warranty, that a bunch of bullshit.... Paper says reconditioning warranty but they want to charge to put it back together....after i replace stuff they were suppose to change already

1994 Suzuki Sidekick, 5 speed manual transmission mechanical history.

I have owned this car for 14 years. Took the car to a mechanic shop to fix the clunking sound coming from the transmission, which existed since ownership.
Not only was the clunking noise not fix I was now getting a grinding noise.
That shop couldn't come up with the cause and had no suggestions.
I called Anaheim Gear a talked to Eric and told him about the transmission issues.
He said they do work on Suzuki transmissions and have the experience to do so and gave me the reassurance that they can fix the issues. I asked him a few times if he can fix it and he said yes.
During the Anaheim Gear rebuild I was told that a bearing was installed incorrectly and had a missing shim.
The transmission issues; 1. With engine running, transmission in neutral and release clutch you can hear a grinding noise. Never made that noise, even from the first overhaul, sounds like a bearing.
      2. When you first drive the car cold very little noise if any. Once it gets heated up from about of 30 minutes or so the loud grinding noise starts.
Now the car has about two thousand miles on the overhaul it seems the noise has increased.
Here are my thoughts, I paid $1,050 for a repair and the issues were known and Anaheim Gear didn't fix the problem or problems.
I don't believe your 100 hour dyno was enough to bring out these issues otherwise you would hear it.
When I drove the car to your facility and you test drove you heard the noise and you tried to convince me that noise is normal. No... it is not. It never made a grinding noise before, prior to mechanics working

Pat offered to work on it a second time. So if you couldn't fix it the first time what makes think you can fix it the second time? Not going to take a chance with these guys. Pulling the transmission two or three more times!
The transmission drain plug had a lot of metal shavings stuck to it too!
So I rebuilt the transmission with the correct parts and installed the missing parts. The Suzuki Sidekick transmission runs and sounds great!

Un reliable people. They say they have the parts but they don't. They sting you along and waist your time. They make up companies issues to not be held responsable for being lying.... Death in the family.... John Doe is not here due to being sick. Met them at the Long Beach Swapmeet. They should just not even show up. Full of shit. Go somewhere else. Unreliable people

I had to rebuild my standard trans in my 2004 Scion xB. Pat took it in the morning let me know my trans wasn't rebuildable just a couple hours later, and said they had another trans they could rebuild for me same cost. I gave the go ahead and they had it available for pickup the next day. Price, turnaround time and workmanship was top notch.

      Thanks Again!!!

Had brought my 5-speed Nissan gearbox to them as a walk-in customer after good word from other auto enthusiasts in my area about their services. Was written up an invoice and off the transmission went. I had opted for it to be refurbished of any worn parts inside as well as requested new seals and new oil plugs.

Received it within a reasonable timeframe of a few days (I suppose it depends on the agreed services) and the gearbox functioned correctly. Overall satisfied with their services and have since recommended them to others.

They gave me the broken parts back for show!

I thought I had a transfer case issue with my Jeep. I had a discussion with Steve and he felt there was a good chance it was not actually the transfer case, but rather the linkages. He informed me they did not do such work and instructed me to get a good diagnosis by a 4x4 shop before pulling the transfer case. He was right on! A multi-thousand dollar job I thought I was facing became $700.

Referred to me by my awesome honest mechanic as a recommendation for someone to rebuild my son's Acura manual transmission. Anaheim gear was solid and professional. Provided me with all of the parts they used, transmission was spotless clean. Well done.
