American Roadside Burger

Good place for a burger with lots of options. I had truffle fries, which I enjoyed. The milkshake machine was out of commission today but I recommend trying a shake there with the fries. Enjoy

Very good burger, onion rings and shake!!! Stopped in for takeout tonight and grabbed the Mac attack burger, so much flavor! After reading mixed reviews on this place, I can honestly say I'm glad I tried it!

Onion rings are on point! When you bite into them, the onion doesn't pull apart which is fabulous. Burger was requested medium well which was perfectly cooked. Shake is good but could use more strawberry flavor. Onion rings were definitely my favorite. I will be back for sure!

We just walked in there at 8:30, we order our food and the nice girl asked the manager if we could dine in and he says no, because they close at 9:00. Between that, the sticky floor, plus the $18 burger, we walked out, No thanks. The floor was so sticky by the register, my shoe almost came off. Around the corner, the Old St Pub took us in no problem.

Last Saturday afternoon was cold, windy, and rainy and my crew of 3 and I were in the area and wanted a solid bite of food before we trekked the 45 minutes or so back to our side of town. We opted to check out this spot due to its proximity to where we were and thanks to the ratings on Yelp.

We surprised to see that there was only one other party seated at noon and another customer in line. The place looked nice and clean and we had our pick of tables. We placed our order and grabbed a table right by the window. About 10 minutes later, our order was delivered to our table. Each burger was nicely wrapped in a foil cover and our sides of tater tots and sweet potato fries were generously piled into their respective containers.

I unwrapped my order and staring back at me was a beautifully and carefully assembled burger. I mean nothing was falling out, the ingredients were carefully portioned out, and it held up well as I took bite after bite. It tasted very good and was very satisfying but without making me feel gross afterwards.

The only complaint I had was that our cashier didn't let us know we could choose our doneness level (and I forgot to even ask). On our receipt, however, was printed "medium well" for all 3 burgers our party ordered. Had I known, I would have gotten no more than a medium, if not medium rare. In all honesty, the one thing about the burger I wasn't thrilled with was that it was a touch dry for my taste. If I had the ability to choose the doneness, it likely would have alleviated that issue. Perhaps management will see this review and make sure that their staff are trained to ask all customers their doneness preference!

Apart from that, however, I have no complaints. The tots were perfectly crispy and piping hot. The dining area was well maintained and clean. Pricing is fair although no one will call it a cheap meal. I wasn't looking for one anyway so no complaints!

After an hour wait on a DoorDash order and the driver even coming to pick it up, the restaurant cancelled our order! Terrible customer service. Will never give them business. Could have cancelled before accepting the order to begin with!!

Sad to see that roadside closed after all these years. The prices were getting high and the restaurant wasnt that clean though so I get why. However, their food was still great.

I've returned after years of not partaking and I can honestly say, I'm glad...
I'm glad I haven't gone back.

As I sit here on my royal thrown, I can tell you despite my name being somewhere on their wall for defeating their challenge burger years ago, I have only one reason I'd ever return. It's not their burger but the Bosco chocolate soda;
I've got a thing for it with a splash of cherry coke.

A few pointers if you do decide to buy a burger against my advice. Just get a single, there is no need to spend more money. A double is just too much meat. If you want more just get bacon on it or another single you fatty.

Don't get it to go; they don't pack well, they are greasy and the nice bun gets soggy.

This visit they left off my bacon, and that's really all I wanted. They could have just given me bacon on the bun and I'd be happier than I was getting a monster of a burger without my bacon.

All in all.... this really upset me... and my stomach.

My son and i were passing and decided to stop in... food was average. We each had a burger... we decided to try a few sides as well. The French fries were average... mac and cheese didn't like too much. The tater tots were really good. Nice and Crispy. service wad good.
