Ambitions Nail & Hair Studio

This is my mother's and sister's regular salon. We booked both myself and my mother to get our nails done. My mom is on hospice, in a wheelchair, nonamblitory and on oxygen. It is very difficult to get her out. So we scheduled to have our nails done simultaneously since it would be too difficult to sit and wait. We had an 11:30 appointment time and arrived at 11:25. We immediately received attitude that we were a half an hour late and had to reschedule. I said no and they were able to do my mother's nails but did not have time for me. Fine. But they did nothing to rectify the issue. I am a RN and like in customer service where the customer is always right, so is the patient. This was very poor customer service to an elderly dying customer and we received attitude. Plus a lousy job. She didn't even clean my mother's nails prior to filing and painting. I would never treat one of my disabled patients this way

My regular nail person wasn't available to do a pedicure (which I desperately needed) so I was looking around to find another salon that could get me in quickly. After scouring Yelp and the internet, I chose Ambitions Nail and Hair Salon. Amanda gave me a very good pedicure and I was very pleasantly surprised with the friendly, thorough service provided. The ambience was very nice (I now want to go to Bora Bora before I die!) with a relaxing video as a lovely backdrop. I will definitely be back!

I regularly get pedicures and have had them at many salons. I went to Ambitions for a pedicure as a first time customer. I went for the advertised pumpkin spice pedicure, but that got lost in translation between booking and starting the pedicure. I ended up with a regular pedicure. Ambition's very plain, basic pedicure is $35, which is a rip off for what you get.

My nail tech was nice. However, she spent a lot of time talking about personal problems and family and making hand gestures instead of working on my toes. There has to be a balance between being professional and realizing you're being paid to provide a spa service vs being conversational. The prep, scrub, and massage portion of the pedicure were all short and not even close to what you usually get. The final product was OK, but not a lot better than I could have done myself. There was no pampering or relaxation and it was more like having a friend, who is not a professional, do your nails. It took an hour, but most of that was due to the nail tech talking and working very slowly. I usually get great service for that price or a little more. The salon was cold too. I won't go back and I would not recommend this salon

Amanda always does a fantastic job! I had to switch nail places because the one I went to before didn't have online booking and it was always extremely busy so I switched to Ambitions and I have yet to be disappointed! I usually get a full set of acrylics and have an occasional so pedicure. The prices here are hard to beat and they do a fantastic job. Highly recommend!

I came into town to visit my Daughter for her Birthday. We always get a pedicure but decided that we wanted a manicure this time. The manager did my Daughter and I had Emily?, I believe was her name. She wore her mask on the top of her head, not around her face. She bantered with the other nail Tech which I was fine with but seemed to be in a hurry for her Cousin coming in and not giving me my $30 worth of manicure. She pushed back my nails, clipped a few cuticle clips and sanded them on top. She proceeded to paint my nails without giving my nails any oil or even cleaning the dust off. The paint job was terrible. One nail had a bubble in it and instead of starting over, she popped the bubble and painted it over making a bigger lump on my nail. She flew through it so quickly that there was no time to say anything. She was up from her chair, checking us out and out the door to get her Cousin who was waiting in the car. I walked out so disappointed! This was the second time that I went to a nail Salon and got my nails done while here in Boise and walked out with them looking like crap. I am hard on my nails normally but back home I know I can walk out with them looking great. She needs to put her attention on her Clients, not her personal life and learn to do better nails! My Daughter on the other hand had a fabulous manicure by the Heidi and couldn't be more happy..

Love Gina and the girls at this salon. Gina is a true artist with my nails & manages to translate my whimsical thoughts into fun nails. And her pedicures are fabulous, especially her foot massages.

Amanda and Emily are amazing. Super down to earth and fun and very willing to allow me to be my picky self. Set up for appointments every three weeks through the rest of the year. I love having this me time and it's a fun girls day with my best friend who also comes in every three weeks to see Melissa. Love the vibe of this whole salon.

Went there for a mani-pedi as a treat for me and my daughter. I got regular nail polish on my fingernails and my daughter got gel polish on hers.

They did a horrible job and didn't even trim our cuticles or file down our nails. There was no lotion applied or scrubbing of the heels which are standard with the full mani-pedi. it was the end of the day and they had a meeting afterwards and they were just in a hurry to get us out of there.

My regular polish came off within 4 days, and my daughter's gel polish came off within 6 days. A gel polish should last at least 2 weeks and a regular polish should last about a week. I called and told them about it the manager gave me a $30 gift certificate and I went back and had my fingernail polish redone in a gel. The lady who did the redo told me that whoever did my nails last (they did) hadn't trimmed the cuticles.

With a tip, I paid about $130 for this horrible experience. I got a $30 credit to come in and have my fingernails done again and they made me pay the $10. I had offered at first to pay it, but after the girl told me they hadn't even trimmed my cuticles and then I talked to my daughter later and hers had not been trained either I decided I was not going to pay the extra $10. One of the employees chase me out to my car to get the money for it which was embarrassing and totally unnecessary. Since it was such a horrible experience they should have refunded the entire amount I originally paid. I will not use the certificate. I will never go in there again.

TIP: If you want great mani pedi as well as an amazing atmosphere, go to Two Rivers Salon or Panache Salon. I should have gone back to one of them instead of Ambitions.

i went in for a full set and the nail tech I had was new. The fact that she was new was fine but I wish I had been aware of that when I made the appointment. She didn't cut my nails before she started, and she was talking negatively about the management for the duration of the appointment. i love this salon just didn't love my last visit

Makaela has been doing my hair for at least 10 years. I have followed her to 2 salons. Ambitions is his forever home. I drive clear across town to see her. She has never made a mistake on my hair and I always leave happy. Her prices are amazing. She is also a color specialist. My daughter always looks forward to having her visits with makaela. I have referred many friends and family to makaela and they have all become life long clients. I highly recommend her. I also recommend the other services that ambitions has. The ladies that work there are so professional and always so nice.
