I don't know how Jim does it...
I've had a couple visits now to Allpro audio and Jim, the shop's owner gives hands down... THE BEST customer service. Polite and patient over the phone, friendly and helpful in person. He understood what I wanted right away and it was really a no fuss plesant experience.
The shop technicians are very knowledgeable, I had a chance to talk to a couple and they also seem like happy workers which is always a plus for a customer. Nobody feels like they are trying to upsell you either. They will make sure you drive out the lot feeling good.
Call ahead to set an appointment as they are very busy. You don't even have to ask for Jim as all of the workers here are pleasant to work with.
And lastly, my experience here isn't unique either, it is constantly proven by the shops outstanding yelp rating.
I highly recommend this shop!
Allpro audio is pretty much a shining example of a great local small business.
6/5 stars!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Jan 20, 2014Previous reviewEveryone here is very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient.
Came for an aux installation a year ago, the wire recently went bad and called in expecting to pay another bill to get it fixed... Much to my surprise, they offer lifetime warranty on their labor ! They spent another 90min fixing my car while only charging me for a new cable! They were very understanding throughout the process.
Lester (the tech that worked on my car) even dusted off the mats in my car! That's quality customer service that goes above and beyond!
5/5 stars no doubt
They also offer a yelp discount which is another plus for any business in my book! - Jay N.San Jose, CA25088141Feb 28, 2015
Jim and Co are the best at what they do. I've been here a total of three times and have never left feeling unfulfilled.
Recently, I came here to install carplay enabled pioneer 8000nex on my Z06. One of the reasons is that Jim used to have a Z so I know I can trust him on that. They not only fixed the unit at a competitive price but also troubleshot some minor issues with my speaker system and gave a whole lot of good advice.
After a week when I noticed an issue with an unrelated switch, they were happy to allow me to come by and they fixed it in less than an hour for no charge.
Will definitely come here again.
Pro tip: do make an appointment since it can get crowded.

I always wished Xzibit would show up at my front door step to Pimp My Ride! But, all I got were damn exterminators, girl scouts, and pizza delivery guys. On the other hand, I DO like pizza......
Anyway, I came to Jim looking to do some work done inside my truck. What was supposed to be a quick, 5 or 6-day turn around, ended up to be a month-long job. Damn, he installs crap slow, huh?!?! Jerk!
Not really.
Two things contributed to this long process, I'm anal (not like that, perv!) and so is Jim. I can be a little bit of a perfectionist and Jim is the same way. If something isn't done right...... well, it should be! Some of the issues were APA's fault. Some were just Jamie being obnoxious (Hey, cut me some slack! I bought electronics, not a $.75 candy bar!)! The bottom line is that Jim wanted to make sure it was done the right way and to MY liking. Not his. Not his crew's. Not his uncle's. Not his gardener's. But, mine! MINE!
Now that I got the selfish side of me covered......... Jim is very open about giving you suggestions, though. Just ask. He won't bite your head off (btw, you should ask to hear his impressions. Ask to hear his Middle-Eastern and Korean accents and see if you can tell the difference). He is not going to sell you crap you don't need. If you are working within a budget, just let him know and he'll work with you. He has a lot of experience and won't give you the runaround. He also places a very high priority to good customer service. At least, that's what he told me. =)
Anyway, let's stop talking about Jim. His ego's big enough.
As far as his crew is concerned, they are just as awesome. Eric, unfortunately, has OCD, too. He has to make everything look and sound P-E-R-F-E-C-T! Al did a great job on the alarm and Brian hooked me up in almost everything else. Although, one "person" in his crew didn't treat me well. This individual licked me and smelled my private parts (Thank goodness it wasn't the other way around). Thanks a lot, Jack!
Well, after reading that garbage of a review, I'll just give you the gist. All Pro Audio met my expectations. At the time of my initial visit to APA, it had 5-stars. During the last few months, it has fluctuated between 4 1/2 and 5 stars (Yelp filters sometimes filter out good reviews because they think it's spam). Regardless, I have had a 5-star experience. It wasn't perfect, but if you've ever been to a stereo shop before, you know most of them will sell you the product with the highest price and/or highest profit margin. I NEVER got that impression with APA.
Pros
* Very competitive pricing (Do your homework, though. A little research will help you get the best possible price).
* Will give you a rental car with work that lasts more than a day.
* Excellent customer service!
* Not pushy.
* Waiting room is clean with 2 TVs.
* Clean work.
Cons
* Jim is uber busy and can't answer calls right away. You can try e-mail if you have any questions (allproaudioinc@yahoo.com).
* No functional showroom units. If you want to see a radio in action, go somewhere else first.
* Work sometimes goes over estimated time.
* Jim's a Raider fan. GO CHARGERS!!Helpful 18Thanks 0Love this 25Oh no 0 - Jul 14, 2009
These guys rock! I chose this place because of the high reviews and I have to say I am very satisfied with their level of service and excellence. I got an amp, two door speakers, and dynamax put on my truck. After I picked it up on the first day, there was a high ptiched whining noise. When Jim heard about it he was like "that's unacceptable". He told me to bring it back to the next day to get it fixed.
I work in Mountain view and both days they gave me a ride back to work. Today, I was slammed at work and was'nt able to go back out there and they drove my truck to my office for me!! Now that's service man!!! Just got the truck, the noise is gone and everything works just fine!
These guys rock!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Max V.Los Altos, CA195927Nov 18, 2008
I was in a quest to find a car audio shop that would do a great job at a cheap price. That is exactly what All Pro Audio delivered. Not only did Jim match the very tight budget I had in mind (unlike 3 other shops in the same neighborhood) , but his team did a stellar job to install a new Pioneer navigation system in my Mercedes SLK. And they went to unusual length to keep me happy.
For starters, once we agreed on the price, Jim told me that if there were to be additional costs, it would be on him, because as a professional, he should have known before committing. So when he found out that the dash kit that he purchased for my SLK, that was labeled as compatible with SLKs and CLKs, was indeed NOT compatible with SLK (manufacturer seems to have mislabeled this item), and that there was no compatible dash kit out there, he offered me to *make* one for me. Standard price: about $900. For me: $0. Then, as this handmade kit needed to dry for two days, he offered me a car rental for these two days!
And the result is simply amazing. Jason, who made the dash kit, made it fit so well that the rest of the dash seems almost a bit loose ;-)
I cannot recommend enough All Pro Audio, and hope other Yelp members will also enjoy doing business with them.

This place is no longer in business at this location. I noticed this when I drove by the other day. On the bright side, they will be opening up at another location. Just a minor setback as they recently lost their lease. Hope they open up again soon. They still get a full 5 stars from me.
Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0May 27, 2014Previous reviewI came here to have my vehicle tinted (2009 Infiniti G37 Sedan Journey Sport Package). What an awesome job these guys did and I was impressed with the quality of work performed!!
The installer is actually contracted by the audio installer shop. I had a noon-time appointment for the install, but had to wait an additional 15 min for him to show-up because he was running a little behind. It was worth the wait and I had no problems anyways because I sat in waiting lounge area on the leather couch enjoying a baseball game on one of the 2 big-screen tv's.
I don't remember the guy's name behind the counter, but you can't miss him. He's a big fellow and was a former radio announcer- ask him to say a few lines and you can tell it's him. He's the same guy who took my appointment over the phone a few days prior.
The work only took 90 min, YES, 90 min. I remember leaving the job starting promptly around 12:15 pm and getting the callback around 1:45 pm. The shop called me right when I was about to dig my fork into my lunch. Don't get fooled by the time it took to do this job, as they sent out an entire army of 3 guys to complete the job. I went with the regular Suntek tint, the standard and not high-end, which was a few hundred dollars more with 30% on the back 3 windows and 70% on drivers/front passenger.
The service was friendly, quick, and quality of job was above par. The location is a descent walking distance to many places to eat, if you so have an appointment around lunchtime. I recommend this place to whoever is looking to have their vehicle tinted. - Sep 10, 2012Updated review
I haven't been back to All Pro Audio in forever, but seriously, this is the best place to upgrade the audio of your car, and then some. The tint on my fiancee's car still looks fresh -- it has been three and a half years and no bubbling. The year after I did that for him (by stealing his car while he was at work), I brought his car back to APA to have Jim look at it for some audio work.
Our cars are by no means new, nor are they fancy. My fiancee's Nissan didn't come with an mp3 connector and there was no usb/output thing for us to even plug in a connector. Jim and his guys took a look at the car and showed me some items they would install behind the dash, bringing a plug out to one of the compartments. I believe the installation was only about $150 (with equipment). I was warned that it would make the radio more static-y than usual and if it was not tolerable to the fiancee, they'd uninstall everything and refund my money. Freakin' awesome service man!
I don't think the process took that long and Jim was careful to ensure that the place wasn't freezing during my second visit. I also had the pleasure of meeting his lovely lab and daughter. I did wander around during the wait to the SCB plaza in search of food though (ew, don't try the sushi place).
I was more than happy with the results, as was the surprised fiancee. The radio was definitely a slightly more static-y but not always and not always noticeable. The connector auto powers on and off the ipod depending on whether or not we listen to the FM station its set to. That was a pretty nifty feature...and anyway, the other half listens to the ipod more.
Jim also has a legit warranty on the work too but the tint and mp3 connector are fine. I'd recommend All Pro Audio and go back in a heartbeat given the customer service, quality of work, and competitive pricing. I know a couple of local pro athletes come here too.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Feb 19, 2009Previous review$250 after showing the Yelp ad to have all the windows tinted, except the front one of course. Richard did a great job! My boyfriend loved his surprise tint present. :)
Everyone apparently goes here for their car needs, so make sure to make an appointment. Jim was helpful with other issues the car had (rock scratches, etc.) and had lots of suggestions. The waiting room is SUPER cold, but there is free wi-fi and two LCD televisions. If you are going to wait, make sure to get some food beforehand...the snack dispenser kind of sucks, just run-of-the-mill chips and candies. I would definitely be back if I had extra moola to splurge on the vehicles.. - Chris T.San Francisco, CA6514917Apr 5, 2011
Initial Reivew:
I've been emailing Jim for the past week inquiring about having them install a subwoofer and amp in my car. Jim was able to answer my questions quickly and gave me pricing for the JL audio system that I wanted. I came into the shop and was warmly welcomed. He checked out my car, allowed me to check out some of the components and answered any questions I had. Most of the reviews here are for aftermarket headunits, bluetooth, and ipod/iphone adapters, not too many for the entire system, so I'm not completely sure what to expect.
So far, customer service: 5 stars
pricing: 4.5 stars
Updated: 4/11/11
Got everything installed Saturday and I'm very pleased with the results. Amp and wires were well hidden and everyone was cleanly done. I have no complaints at all. I had a small problem where the subwoofer wires got disconnected but James told me to come in and he'd give me a jack plug so the wires won't disconnect, touch and create a spark NO CHARGE.
So my 5 star still stands for their great customer service, clean installation, prices, and JACK the dog.
James seems really busy almost every time I came in so I would suggest being really patient with him.
I will be coming back for speaker component to improve my mids and highs, so expect a follow-up review in the near future!

Once I can get my two vehicles back to Jim I will adjust this rating..Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Feb 1, 2013Previous reviewThe guys at All Pro Audio are great. Jim, Robert, Brian and the whole team.
I use to be a California Car Sounds customer, however as a customer the hours of 9a-5p M-F at California Car Sounds really don't work well for those of us that have to work.
I call All Pro and talked to Robert about replacing the dead Monsoon amp in my daughters 2003 Jetta. As most European cars, you can't just replace a component. Robert took the time to listen to what I was willing to spend and the features that were important to me and her. He provided me a quote that was broken down component by component, labor and tax. I knew exactly what I was paying for what.
I made an appointment to have the work done and left a small deposit to show them that I would be back. This is actually something they require and I think it is a GREAT thing.
I came back and dropped the car off for the day. The work was completed as they promised by the end of the day. Overall the installation was great with the only exception of the din height bin that I choose to go with as the head unit I was replacing was a double din and the new unit was a single din. Brian came out and looked at my concern. He agreed and told me he could make the change while I waited. He did. The system sounded great. And my daughter was very happy.
A couple of weeks after the installation, I happened to be riding in the back seat of her car and noticed that the rear speakers were not functioning. Unfortunately she was back at school with the car. When I got back to NorCal, I contacted the team at AllPro and told them of my problem and they immediately said bring it in and we will look into what is wrong. I informed them the the car would not be back in the area until the middle of December, it was now the end of August. They said no problem. Well the middle of December came. I brought the car to them. Very quickly they discovered a non functioning rear tweeter. Unfortunately the was the factory system was wired, if the tweeters go it takes that whole channel off. Easy solution. Replace the hard to find factory or aftermarket tweeters or replace the speakers with some good co-axials. I was in and out with about 90 minutes. I was pleased. She was pleased.
The guys at All Pro will be getting all my future work and I have already referred many others to them. Those that have made it over to see them and have had their work preformed are very happy too. - Scott J.Theater District, Manhattan, NY168564184Jun 1, 2015Updated review
I have sent the following to AMEX. Jim refused to stand behind his work. Stay away...
Sent to AMEX:
I wanted to supplement previous materials submitted to include this additional information.
Because Jim Lee, the owner of All Pro, refused to provide any warranty service to my vehicle to ensure it was working as agreed, we took the vehicle to another car stereo/alarm shop. They reviewed the vehicle and could not believe the poor workmanship. They advised me that the only option to get the vehicle running again was to remove ALL the equipment installed and revert back to the original state. This was done at a cost of $941, but now at least my vehicle runs. The invoice is shown below:
Screen Shot 2015-06-01 at 12.58.37 PM.png
Please note the bottom left hand corner of the invoice which reads: "ALARM AND MUSIC SYSTEM WAS NOT DONE TO PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS. ITEMS USED IN SOME CASES WERE MEANT FOR HOME AND NOT VEHICLE SYSTEMS."
We asked the company that did the uninstall to summarize the issues that required the drastic step of removing everything, and they indicated:
cheap quality relays, not properly mounted
electrical tape used to hold things together
alarm tilt switch installed under the hood where water could damage it. It is meant to be installed inside the car
bad crimps
bad grounds: grounds were attached to painted and anodized bolts and would never work properly
loose connections
fuses rigged with improper sockets, and outdoors without waterproof enclosures
fuses hidden inside body panels.
aux battery, which would have to be maintained at some time, mounted inside the body where it would take 2 hrs to access
no documentation on work that was done
indoor LED lighting used in water-prone locations like under the car.
LED lighting duct taped and badly glued on. It was falling off everywhere
Generally incomplete, shoddy workmanship that would never last more than a couple months.
Pictures showing the uninstalled parts along with the poor workmanship are all available here https://www.dropbox.com/sh/lsl9c59v3qwvfnx/AACHWW7uyZptg7frHthjH4VOa?dl=0.
At this point, we have all the uninstalled parts and would be happy to return them to All Pro Audio upon confirmation of the refund we are seeking.
Screen Shot 2015-06-01 at 1.39.53 PM.png
To be clear, I originally contracted to have the alarm installed for an amount not to exceed $2500, although Jim charged me $3100 without my authority. The alarm NEVER worked properly and I brought the vehicle in no less than 3 more times to have it fixed under warranty. No mention of additional charges was ever mentioned, despite me asking specifically that question multiple times on the phone and in writing. When I picked the vehicle up the last time and couldn't get anything to work, Jim Lee, the owner, told me that unless I paid him an additional $4100 he would not fix the problem or tell us how he wired the vehicle. This left us with no other choice other than to pull all the equipment, thus determining the cause of the issues was in fact the alarm installation. All I am seeking is a full refund, although I feel I am entitled to be reimbursed for the $942 fees to uninstall the alarm.
Let me know if more information is needed and where I should return the uninstalled parts.
Scott JordanHelpful 12Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0May 19, 2015Previous reviewI engaged with Jim Lee the owner to install an alarm on my Polaris Slingshot in February. He quoted me $2500 to do the install. The install was straightforward and described clearly in emails, with one twist: the perimeter sensor was supposed to trigger music and LED lights instead of an alarm, to provide a show. Jim charged my credit card for $3100, instead of the agreed upon bid for the work. When I picked up the vehicle, it didn't work as intended. So, I brought it back to him to fix. I had only a 2 day window to fix it. He agreed to fix it then. Brought it to him, picked it up and he said it was all fixed. It wasn't. No additional charges were billed and Jim promised to get it fixed properly without any additional charges. I brought it back to him again (3rd time). He said it was fixed, but it wasn't. He claimed he needed it for 3 FULL days and the reason it couldn't be fixed on prior occasions was that I didn't given him adequate time to fix it. I repeatedly told him how important it was that he fix and test it, and to tell me if any additional charges would be incurred. We agreed in writing on a clear list of what needed to be fixed and I promised to give him 3 full days to do the work. He took 4.5 days to "fix" the items. He promised to send me a video showing me how it worked (I was in Idaho and he in California). No video was provided. I had someone pick up the vehicle and the alarm still didn't work. Jim sent me another invoice for $4300 to "fix" the original work and told me he wouldn't provide any support until he was paid for the warranty work. I refused. A month, we started having serious electrical problems and my dealer reached out to Jim asking for some assistance to understand what Jim did. Jim refused to help at all until he was paid what he claimed I owed him. To be clear, all the work was contemplated by the original bid of $2500 and Jim was just trying to get me to pay for his efforts to fix what was done improperly. Now, my dealer is insisting that I remove the alarm, at my expense, before they will begin to look at the electrical issues. So, having spent $3100, and being severally inconvenienced and accused of "stiffing," I am left with a vehicle that doesn't run and no alarm whatsoever. Jim probably can handle simple alarm installs although not really sure of that. More information on our current issue, with pictures is below:
http://www.slingshotforums.com/threads/vehicle-quitting-on-me-while-driving.5382/#post-115850 Jim is blaming on the electrical work on the dealer and another vendor that did some steering work, even though Jim was the only vendor working on the electronics. BEWARE of this shop. I relied on the many favorable reviews on this site before selecting Jim, so not sure what the disconnect is.... I really wish that Jim would have stood behind his work and his quote. I have contested the charges on my credit card and will be returning the equipment to Jim when removed. A complete nightmere.
I have had to pull the entire alarm. Additional information provided to my credit card company: I brought my vehicle into Jim Lee of ALL Pro Audio after receiving this written quote via email on 2/5/15. I authorized this work, but Jim charged me $600 more than the authorized amount. The alarm that was installed never operated properly and Jim kept insisting I bring the vehicle back for warranty work. Each and every time, and there were no less than 3 more times, I brought the vehicle back, I insisted on getting an estimate if there was any additional charges. Jim assured me that here would be no additional charges beyond this. However, the vehicle never operated properly, even after bringing it back multiple times. ALL of this is well documented in emails and videos. The last time I brought the vehicle back, he kept the car for 4+ days and assured me he finally fixed it, although he didn't provide the video showing me same. When I picked up the vehicle it didn't operate. Jim then insisted that I pay an additional $4100 for the warranty work and told me that until I paid him this additional amount, he would not help to get the alarm working. In addition, since we picked up the vehicle, the entire electrical system was creating problems which caused the vehicle to stop while driving. This is well documented here: http://www.slingshotforums.com/threads/vehicle-quitting-on-me-while-driving.5382/page-2#post-116859
I brought my car to my dealer who told me unequivocally the electrical problems were due to the manner in which the alarm was installed. My dealer called Jim Lee to get assistance on the alarm but Jim insisted that he be paid an additional $4100, all unauthorized and warranty work, until he would advise on the problem. As a result, I have had to bring the vehicle at my expense to another alarm shop to remove the alarm and all parts. I have the parts and willing to turn them over upon confirmation of receiving this credit on my AMEX.
